"We have altered the charges against Pravin from attempt to murder (307 of Indian Penal Code) to murder (302 of IPC). Naturally, when the victim in an attack dies, the charges against the accused are bound to change," Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy told reporters in Mumbai. Praveen, who had fired three bullets at Pramod at the BJP leader's Worli residence on April 22, surrendered before the police soon after the incident. Police sources said the amended charges will be placed before the court on May 17 when Pravin will be produced for extension of remand.
