Dangers of stopping wearing malefic gems

Hi Rajesh,

 

I used to wear a ring of red rubies (Sun's gem) I inherited from my favourite

aunt. My life was in a chaos after I started using the ring but I'd wear it

because at that time I was ignorant to the fact that I am a Capricorn with the

Sun ruling 8th and occupying the 6th - two malefic houses. Since I stopped

wearing those rubies my life improved a lot. It was like a door opening in my

life... and no bad things happened. This is of course my experience. Perhaps our

learned members could enlighten us on the dangers of stopping wearing malefic

gems?

Thanks for the quick reply...I am a bit skeptic about remving the

rings since I have heard once we wear them we shld never remove

them, are they really causing harm to me now??

Dear Rui and All,

 

There is no danger whatsoever if one removes a gem that is

malefic...the benefit (of removing it) would be felt immediately.

 

The question remains however; are the gems worn by Rajesh malefic for

him or not? We cannot say that Blue Sapphire is harmful for him as

Saturn, owning 9th/10th, is YogaKaraka. Saturn is suffering somewhat

due to placement in sign of Grt. Enemy and aspect of F/M Mars and

conjunction of Rahu. I feel it would be beneficial for him to fortify

the houses (9/10) against this affliction by wearing Blue

Sapphire...certainly it will do him no harm and, in my opinion,

there's no need for him to remove it...unless, of course, he's

wearing an inferior quality gem which can do more harm than good.

 

The White Sapphire (a substitute for Diamond) has obviously been

prescribed for Venus. This I would not advise as I don't support the

use of UpaRatnas... I hold to the words of Maharishi who says; "You

know the difference between a gem and a substitute, and so do the

planets!". A white Sapphire will never be a diamond, plain and

simple. I would question wearing a gem for Venus at all as, although

he's lord of lagna, his moolatrikona sign is Libra (owning 6th house

of obstacles). In this instance Venus also lords 12th from 7th...

 

Perhaps members would like to ponder the consequences of this Venus

in 7th house, considering also Venus' nakshatra lord inimicably

placed in 8th whilst 8th lord Jupiter aspects both Venus and his

dispositor, Mars...

Thanks Rui but I would like to point out there have been bad things

happening in my life even before I wore those rings. After wearing

the blue sapphire, I got a job within a month, but after that I have

hardly noticed any other improvment in my life.

 

However, I don't know if there rings specifically are affecting the

relationship aspect of my chart since I am a layman when it comes to

astro.

If I might offer an opinion here. Many people find it difficult to

accept that the great benefic Jupiter can ever be malefic.

Unfortunately, as I recently tried to point out with the Dalai Lama's

chart, Jupiter (as lord of 8th) can certainly indicate conflict,

aggression etc.. In your chart Jupiter is exalted in 3rd house of

initiative, courage and so forth.

 

The aspect of 8th lord Jupiter on both Moon(mother) and Sun(father)

coupled with the influence of F/M Mars on 4th lord Sun, 4th house and

Saturn (lord of 9th/10th either of which can indicate father)

indicates conflict in regards to parents and, of course, in regards

to spouse due to Jupiter's aspect etc. Fasting on Thursdays (and

other measures) to pacify the influence of 8th lord is advised.

comment, but I was distracted by a phone call and it slipped my mind.

jup is 8 ans 11th loed in third exalted aspecting 7th house

 

a pure melific and very strong

 

how will he get happiness related to 7th house

 

and wearing 8th lord may not help at all

 

saturn truns very melific when afflicted

 

his satrun is with rahu in 4th house

 

as per 10th house rule I mentioned earlier

 

4th house of happiness is 10th from 7th

 

and household happiness and harmony plays

 

major role in happy love or marriage

 

and saturn is in house of his enemy sun

 

I still suggest rajesh to remove both rings

 

or at least for trial purpose for 1 month and notice the changes

Dear Jiger,

 

There seems to be some misunderstanding here regarding the White

Sapphire Rajesh is wearing. You're assuming this is for Jupiter? As

we know the gem for Jupiter is Yellow Sapphire (NOT White Sapphire).

White sapphire and Damburite are the secondary gems (uparatnas)

related to Venus. The secondary gems for Jupiter are Yellow Topaz,

Yellow Beryl or Yellow Zircon. At no time did I advise Rajesh to wear

a gem for Jupiter and indeed I advised him not to wear a Gem for

Venus.

Saturn - it will NOT increase the effect of Rahu...

in comfort regarding my query of wearing gems. I think I will

persist with wearing the rings as I have been doing.

 

But apart from this I don't know any other remedial measure. I chant

the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu.

 

Hope I am not taking much of your time but can you suggest now what

should I do regarding my search for a partner and when will things

improve in my life.

I wore the blue sapphire in March 2005 and immdeiately within a

month, in the second week of April I landed a job. I had been to a

professional gemologist for help regarding my career as despite

being an engineer and an MBA I was jobless for 5-6months. He

recommended the blue sapphire for the problem and a white sapphire

as a substitute for diamond which he said was my lucky stone. So

after a couple of months after wearing the blue sapphire I wore this

ring as well.

 

After my job, there was no good news in my life regarding any aspect

of my life which leads me to believe whether these gem stones really

work also or not.

 

If you need to know anything more, pls ask, I also thank Jiger and

you as well for your efforts.

started wearing the B.Sapphire, YogaKaraka Saturn was transiting

Gemini and aspecting dasa lord Mercury (karaka for 10th). Saturn is

now transiting Cancer (8th from dasa lord and 12th from his natal

In simple terms, Saturn transiting Gemini was aspecting Mercury (your

dasa lord) at the time you started wearing the gem and (shortly

after) found a position. Saturn owning 9th and 10th houses is a

functional benefic (YogaKaraka) for you and can give good results.

Your dasa lord Mercury is the karaka (significator) for 10th

house...it's not surprising therefore that the aspect of (transit)

Saturn was instrumental in elevating your status at that time.

 

Important also is Saturn's transit through 2nd in terms of obtaining

the gem. 2nd house governs precious gems etc.. Because this transit

of Saturn was favourable for you I think we can safely say that the

gem for Saturn is beneficial.

The reason you're not experiencing the same benefits now is simply

Dear Deepti,

 

Just like we are, the planets are either comfortable, uncomfortable

or indifferent under certain circumstances. The most comfortable or

harmonious position for any planet is to be placed in its sign of

exaltation. Next is its moolatrikona sign, followed by own sign,

great friend's sign and friendly sign.

 

Planets are most uncomfortable or miserable when in sign of

debilitation, great enemy's sign and enemy's sign.

 

There are numerous books (and websites) giving these basic principles

of jyotish. For those seriously wishing to learn the basics I suggest

James Braha's first book "Ancient Hindu Astrology for the Modern

Western Astrologer" as an excellent place to start. The book is

well-written, easy to read and understand, and covers all the basics.
