Guest guest
Dear Arun, Please do think about this: Rahu's basic nature is worldly, materialistic, passionate (compulsive) and so forth, whereas Ketu is spiritual, secretive, hidden (shy) etc.. What do you suppose would be the effect of Rahu's (supposed) aspect on Ketu and vice-versa... Let's think about this very seriously, and, when we say; Rahu aspects or Ketu aspects, let's clarify what the result of that aspect might be. I think (eventually) you might come to the same conclusion that many eminent jyotishi's have...i.e., the nodes neither give nor receive aspects. The following, from an article on JyotishVidya.com, explains the principle that most traditional jyotishi's adhere to... I too adhere to this principle. "Pundit Gopesh Kumar Ojha, in his book "Predictive Astrology of the Hindus", states categorically that Rahu and Ketu neither aspect nor are aspected. Certainly, if the house they occupy is aspected, the quality of that house is influenced by the aspecting planet and, in this way, according to traditional astrologers (of the old school), we say that Rahu or Ketu are aspected by a benefic or malefic but they do not themselves come under the realm of aspects as do the other planets." Strictly speaking Rahu and Ketu are affected by conjunction only. They show their effect through their dispositor and via the conjoined planet. Rahu often indicates a compulsive attraction to the significations of the conjoined planet, whereas Ketu can indicate restriction and/or unusual behaviour of the conjuncted planet. Of course many modern day gurus advocate certain aspects to the nodes and this is becomming widely accepted today. However I would like people here (in the name of research) to quantify the effects of such aspects when they use them in their interpretation... When there's such a divergence of opinions between the new vogue gurus and traditional jyotish pandits, I think we should test it out for ourselves before blindly accepting it as fact, don't you? I have no wish to raise another controversy but > I'm > certainly interested in your interpretation of Rahu's aspect on > Ketu > and vice-versa.// I never knew that there was such a line of thought! My understanding was that Rahu and ketu complimented each other in their functioning rather than cancelling. Rahu's energy moves outward, while ketu's is inward. If their energies cancel out then we cannot class them as malefics or entities of any significance. regards arun
