Guest guest Posted April 5, 2006 Report Share Posted April 5, 2006 Dear Members, It has come to my attention that some members have been contacted privately by disgruntled persons with an axe grind. This is unacceptable behaviour by any standards in that such persons can say anything at all whilst hidden in the shadows - any lie they wish to propogate can go unchallenged when it's said behind the scenes. We have to ask ourselves then; "what does this say about the character of such people?" In spite of the opinion of some, 4th house most certainly does show the character and moral fibre of a native (as too does the 9th). This is not simply my own opinion but is the basic significations of the bhavas as taught by the sages. They tell us that 4th house signifies such things as: Emotional mind, heart/feelings, mother, happiness & contentment, confidence & belief, close friends, well-wishers, home/home-comforts, home country, holy places, moral virtues, devotion to God, piety, righteous conduct, character, good name and reputation etc, etc.. The significations for 9th house (as taught by the sages) are: Dharma, support of nature, remedies (medicine, yagya, tapas etc), life philosophy, world view, religion, faith, guru, worship, piety, morality, ethics, higher education, visits to shrines, pilgrimages, foreign travels, air travels etc.. Having a solid grounding in the significations of the bhavas (and grahas) is the first basic step in learning jyotish and without a complete understanding of these basic principles one can never hope to grasp this Divine science of jyotish. I have worked tirelessly putting all this information on JyotishVidya.com for the benefit of those wishing to learn, and when an inexperienced student continually makes statements such as; //Does Mars in the 4th necessarily have to affect one's nature and the quality of one's actions? I don't think so.// It becomes quite obvious that, not only does he not grasp the basics, but more so, the conviction of his posts have the potential to misguide impressionable students endeavoring to understand jyotish. I eventually decided it would be best for both this person and the list if he were to leave and carry on with his learning in an environment more supportive of his ideas. I did not make this decision lightly nor did I bring it to the attention of the list as it was a matter between the list owner and the person(s) concerned. However this person has taken it upon himself to write privately to members voicing his discontent. Naturally enough this behind-the-scenes back-stabbing has found its way back to me. All I have to say on the matter is this; if anyone has a legitimate complaint it should be addressed to the list owner at jyotish-vidya-owner and NOT to other members. The number of members (on JV) is less important to me than the quality of members...this must always be the priority! There are many groups out there willing to accomodate everyone's views, but on JV the basic tenets of jyotish are firmly upheld.
