Guest guest
Hello, Posting to this group after a long time now. Recently i came accross a chart of a native for which I wanted to seek the opinion of the respected members of the group with respect on the influence of papakartari yoga on Exalted Jupiter. Female Native : 19th June 1979, 08.10 AM, Jodhpur (73E01, 26N17). Cancer ascendant : Exalted Jupiter, Saturn and Rahu in the 2nd house Sun and Mercury in the 12th house. What I wanted to ask here is: 1) Does this placement of planets rob Jupiter of its benefices. 2) Will yogakaraka Mars 4th house aspect on Saturn from the 11th house, reduce the malefic power in the 2nd house. (Mars is in Vridh avastha here). Please advice, Regards, A N
Guest guest
Namaste, In "Sri Sarwarthachintamani" translated by B.Suryanarain Rao (Dr.B.V.Raman's Grandfather and astrology Guru), he states that for papakartari yoga to be effective the planets causing the yoga have to be within a radii of 30 degrees. In this case only Mercury falls within this 30 degree range. So papakaratari yoga on Jupiter is not functional. But papakaratari yoga for the 1st house exists. Moreover Jupiter has five favourable vergas and only one unfavourable verga in the dasa verga scheme. My assessment is Jupiter has not lost its benefic powers but due to house rulership (6th and 9th) can still show its 6th house properties. regards arun
Guest guest
Hello Arun, You are right. There are delays (6th house), in matters related to the 7th house (from what I was told). One of my queries was about the aspect of the Yogakaraka planet. Can you answer that one too. In general how would you interpret, 7th lord in 2nd, the 2nd (dispositor of 7th lord) in 12th house. Can we conclude that though her spouse will be earning a lot of wealth, she will indulge in wasteful expenses (not on good accounts because of involvement of malefic planets). There are auspicious yogas like the parivartan between asc lord and the 9th lord, the conjunction of kendra and kona lords in the 11th, but I felt that they are too weak to give the results (vridha avastha). Your comments are welcome. I'm not the best jyotishi around here, but in my humble opinion, no. This Jupiter is exalted and has directional strength, and exchanges houses with the moon, as well as aspecting the Moon, in a good house. This is all strong and good! If a Papa Kartari yoga exists at all (opinions will vary on this), it's quite weak. Either way, given the strength of Jupiter and the first house, the yoga is nothing to worry about. > 2) Will yogakaraka Mars 4th house aspect on Saturn from the 11th > house, reduce the malefic power in the 2nd house. (Mars is in Vridh > avastha here). A malefic aspected by another malefic will be more malefic, so Saturn aspected by Mars will be more inclined to harm the 2nd house. Looking on the bright side, Mars is conjunct Venus, which makes Mars a little less harmful, and his aspect on Saturn is not close. This won't have any significant impact on Jupiter or the first house. > Please advice, > > Regards, > A N > Other opinions welcome... Guest guest
Namaste A N, Ascendant Cancer placed in Pushya Nakshatra and subject to papakaratari Yoga. No aspects. Exalted jupiter in lagna and very strong. Langa Lord Moon (Cuspally positioned) is vargottama but in the 10th day of the dark half of the moon. Moon is mutual exchange with 9th Lord jupiter. Since Moon is Vargottama it gains strength. Both are natural benefics but Moon being in the dark half of the moon looses some of its benefic properties. Its association with Jupiter can only help and the parivartana between the 1st and the 9th can still be considered a strong yoga. Conjunction of Mars and Venus in the 11th house (Taurus): Mars, though (as you pointed out) in the Vridh state, gains strength due its exalted position in the Navamsa and its three favourable vergas in the Dasaverga scheme. It is a Raja Yoga planet and is about 14 degrees away from Venus the 4th and the 11th Lord Venus. Venus is strong, placed in its own house and having two favourable vergas (one unfavourable). This conjunction is aspected by Saturn. This lady is creative, aggressive enough to pursue her own career and beautiful (moon, lagna lord, and jupiter in exchange, but lacks in self confidence (presence of sun in the 12th and the papakartari yoga on the 1st house). Mars and venus is conjunct in the 11th being a venusian sign under the malefic gaze of saturn may produce a sensual and materialistic outlook, and being driven on occasion to excesses. The 6th Lord occupies; the Lagna and taking the Moon as Lagna the 6th house has two malefics indicating a potential for health problems. The presence of Rahu and Saturn in the 2nd house would give, possible childhood problems (Mercury in the 12th), harsh speech and problems with eyes (Sun in the 12th). The 2nd Lord's position in the 12th conjunct the 12th Lord and the afflcition to the 2nd house shows a wasting away of earnings. But 9th Lord's presence in Lagna, 11th Lord in own house guarantee a good degreee of luck and income. It would be beneficial for the native to work away from home (2nd in the 12th). 7th house analysis: the 7th house is aspected by exalted 6th and 9th lord jupiter, which is a good positive. 7th Lord Saturn is Vargottama and placed in the 2nd (8th from the 7th) which is not good for the affairs of the 7th. The 7th Lord is closely conjunct (less than 4 deg) Rahu and aspected by Mars. the 7th Lord is badly positioned and definitely afflicted. An afflicted 7th Lord in the 2nd may mean an adverse impact on the native's livelihood. this is read along with the 2nd Lord's presence in the 12th. The conjunction of the 7th Lord with Rahu and its aspect by Mars taken along the papakartari yoga on the 1st house created on one hand by the Saturn Rahu combine is worrying as this could be interpreted as a threat to the body of the person. But Jupiter's strong presence in the lagna should see the native thru as jupiter is stronger than Saturn in this chart. regards Arun
