Dear Wendy, Patrice and all,

Firstly, thank you all for your supportive notes and best wishes and prayers.

To answer the questions regarding my mother's birth time.

Daylight Savings time was in effect for World War 1. It must disbanded in the

USA sometime in 1918, I believe. However, there were a few cities that kept

Daylight Savings Time. One of them was Chicago.

here is a website that one can go to read about Daylight Savings Time in the

USA and how it has changed through the years.

/www.webexhibits.org/daylightsavings/e.html You will then want to make sure

you have clicked over to Early Adoption & US Law

It was a practice in Chicago until Universal Time was established in 1967 that

all birth certificates in Chicago being noted in Standard Time even though it

might of been Daylight Savings Time (on the clock) at the moment of birth.

For instances when I was born in 1951 the clocked time said 10:06am but my

birth certificate says 9:06am A few years ago I had my birth time rectified to

10:14 CDT or 9:14 Standard Time

This has always been a source of confusion for many birth certificates in the

USA. Birth certificates are not legally required to write in 24 hour time or

say whether it is DST or not. However, having all of my siblings birth

certificates and some of my relatives. Birth times are notes with an a,m or

p.m. after it,

Unfortunately, I do not have my mother's birth certificate and I can only

assume that from her memory that she was born somewhere between 4:20 and 4:40 in

the afternoon. Now my mother-in-law who is also my father's Twin sister, I

have her birth certificate and it is recorded in standard time but does not have

am or pm after it. I am assuming it is 2:59am and that my father was born at

3:24am. But it is a guess

So, for my mother I have two charts for her. One at 4:20pm and one at 4:20am

I have always leaned towards the 4:20pm time (Lagna 24* Libra) because of her

memory and the 4:40 time just seem a little off. However, when working with her

birth time for 4:20am it does give me a Lagna of 0* Gemini.

I have not done any ratification of her birth time.

I did draw up a prasna chart last evening which gave me a Lagna of 2* Libra

with Retro Jupiter 24* Libra for a time of (21:05) Chicago, Il. USA. March 7,

2006, Tuesday.

I believe in one of my emails last evening I was transposing my days because

it was so late and so many phone calls with information coming in and spending

about 2 hrs alone with my mother on the phone. But, yesterday my time and

last evening my time was Tuesday, March 7th

Hope the information helps.

Wendy, am really grateful that you mentioned that book about times, I will

have to see if I can locate it and purchase it.

I do want to stress though, that there are several areas in the Midwest in

particular, where birth times were always recorded in Standard Time before 1967.

Even if a book says that one area was in Daylight Savings Time.

It all becomes rather confusing, but I have learned through the years to

always be suspicious of birth times. That's why I like the Moon placement for

the day (even if it changes during the day) to be a really great way to see a

chart. Also, some say a Prasna chart can tell a whole person's life. I think

one has to be pretty good to be able to discern this, But, makes for good

conversation and debate.

I'll be back at my desk in about 4 hours after a medical appointment..

Dear Uttara,

///Jun 15, 1926

4:20pm) ??? for 4:20 to 4:40am (no Daylight Savings Time)

Chicago, Illinois, USA///

Here you give 4:20pm and/or 4:20 to 4:40am....???????

I should have picked up on that straight away but, as usual, doing

things in a hurry, it escaped my attention initially and I only

picked up on the 4.20 to 4.40am time.

You have to be aware, Uttara, of the importance of a correct time of

birth. Jyotish is an exact science which requires exact

information... Without this it's just guesswork! However, regardless

of lagna, transiting Jupiter is aspecting your mothers natal Venus.

The important question here is what houses does Jupiter rule?

Using Moon as lagna is not always reliable as Moon can change signs

within (that) particular 24hr period.

Members PLEASE! only accurate birth times should be submitted to the

group. Those without correct T.O.B. require rectification based on

events of life... this takes time (more time than I have) and

complete disclosure from the querent.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy
