Guest guest
To All, Barney has put in a request to Chritiane to study the chart that she memtioned last week, suggesting we call it Doris. Neena has brought up King George the 111 and it similarities to the chart Christiane gave. I would like to give study to what Neena brought up a few weeks ago being Virginia Woolfs chart. I would like to take that and study it in comparison with Syliva Plath's. Both were gifted writers and poets. Both suffered from the same highs and lows and mental deamons plus marriage woes. Both purposely killed themselvses (Virginia, by putting stones and rocks in her pockets and jumping from a bridge into the river to drown herself. Sylvia quite literally put her head in the oven) all because of their mental/emotional distress. Their Mental Depression and Schizopaffective bi-polar diagnoses, not to mention, chaotic childhood backgrounds and jealousy of husbands activities and affairs all a contributing factor. Is there a vote for this week's study? Uttara
Guest guest
Dear Uttara, You certainly have my unconditional vote ;-) I have studied both Woolf and Plath so I am deeply interested in this discussion. I am desperately sorry I have not been participating in the earlier Group Study weekly discussions. This is due to the fact that I am deprived from my laptop for over a month, without which I cannot do any proper charts. I have been reading the emails at work but it is hard to follow without the physical chart at hand for I am not allowed any Vedic Astrology software at work, it is just desperate! Perhaps you could be kind enough to email me these charts Nakshatra positions? I can do the signs postions using www.astro.com but then have no access to the Nakshatra positions. Looking forward to this discussion. Best wishes, Rui. muttaraphalguni <muttaraphalguni wrote: To All, Barney has put in a request to Chritiane to study the chart that she memtioned last week, suggesting we call it Doris. Guest guest
Dear Uttara, Thank you for the charts. I drew them and have them now on paper but I cannot concentrate because I am at work so only maybe tonight at home I will be able to study them properly. For now I can just see that Saturn is an important planet for both. For Woolf it is the Yogakaraka, for Plath it is the Mooltrikona lagnesh. In both charts this is a weak planet. I know myself that Woolf's father was old and distant from her and Plath had an extremelly strong attachment to hers. Woolf's father was a renowned scholar and an eminent Victorian - this can be seen from the Sun's position in 9th, which also occurs in Plath's chart. Since both took their own lives, I think it is important to note how this suicide is described in their 3rd houses. Both have weak 3rd house rulers, but Woolf's 3rd house itself is rich by aspect. Woolf drowned herself, so obviously her 3rd house is the water sign Cancer, the Moon being heavilly afflicted in 12th and in Ketu's Nakshatra - this also accounts for the early loss of her mother. To note that, on the other hand, Woolf's 3rd house is aspected by the Sun, Mercury and Venus. Her younger siblings were mostly artists like the famous Vanessa Bell who used to illustrate Woolf's books. I believe Plath stuck her head in a gas oven - sorry but I am not English and am not able to say it in a better way. 3rd house is Aries and Mars is debilitated and in 6th. Preparation of food is one of the significations of the 6th, hence oven. Mars is also in the Nakshatra of Mercury, an air planet, hence gas. I must go now. Looking forward to what our members think of these 2 charts. Thanks, Rui. Uttara <muttaraphalguni wrote: Rui, It's my pleasure! Guest guest
-- Dear Uttara,Rui and list members, I have not had the chance to make a comparative study of the two horoscopes , will try and do so soon. But I feel that to study suicide one needs to look for factors that lead to self destruction. Basic Weakness of the mind and lagna should be contributory agents. what do you think? Will get back to it after comparing the charts. As ever, Neena - In jyotish-vidya, RPM <rupamede wrote: > > Dear Uttara, > > Thank you for the charts.
