Calculation of Dasas and antardasas A . For calculating Dasa 1. Each sign has 30 degrees as one sign occupies one house in a natal chart . 2.Divide all signs into 9 parts 3. Now consider the 27 nakshatras such that ashwini is from 0 -13 degrees 20 mins(all the 4 padas),bharani is from 13.20 to 26.40 and one pada of krittika is from 26.40 mins to 30.00 of Aries. ( please note that the point used is not of decimal but of degrees and mins - ie 60 mins is 1 degree) 4. Thus each nakshatra comprises 4 parts or padas of 3.20 each -thus totalling 13 degrees and 20 mins 5. As one pada of krittika is allocated to Aries , there would be 3 left for Taurus 6.The enitire of Rohini will be in Taurus and 2 padas of mrigasara will be for Taurus (to make 9 parts of 3 degrees and 20 mins) 7. This allocation will go on for All signs such that Pisces will have the following nakshatra padas Purvabhadra - 1 pada Uttarabhadra -4 padas (the entire nakshatra) and Revati - 4 padas (the entire nakshatra) 8. Based on the ownership of a particular nakshatra and the position of the moon in a particular nakshatra of a sign the dasas will start. As we know for example Ashwini is owned by ketu,bharani is owned by Venus etc. For example take a birth when moon is in Taurus at 25 degrees and 10 mins. Table for Taurus is as follows, 3 - Krittika 4 - Rohini 2 - Mrigasara Each division or part is 3 degrees 20 mins or 3.33 (in decimal) As the moon in the natal chart is at 25 degrees 10 mins hence moon has passed into Mrigasira and is at 25.10 - 23.20 ( 3 of Krittika + 4 of rohini makes 7 padas or divisions or parts of 3.20 degrees which is 7 x 3.20 =23.20 degrees) Thus moon is in Mrigasara at 25.10 minus 23.20 which is 1 degree 50 mins Each nakshatra is 4 padas or 13.20 degrees For mrigasara which is owned by mars it means 7 years dasa of mars As moon has passed 1 .50 degrees we will have to subtract that much period for 13.20 it is 7 years for 1.50 ? ? = (7 x 1.50 ) /13.20 = 11 months and 16 days This is done on a scientic calc. If you donot have it pl. convert the above into decimal for example ? = (7 x 1+(50/60) )/13.33 = (7 x 1.833 )/13.33 = .962 years which is equal to 11 months and 16 days Hence Mars dasa remaining for the native is 7 years - 11 months 16 days = 6 years and 14 days B.For calculating Antardasas or subperiods and interperiods. Multiply the number of years of the dasa period of the planet by the number of the years of the dasa period of the planet whose subperiod is desired.Then cutting the last degit of the product multiply it by 3 and keep the figure as days, the other period in the product will be months For example - to find Sun's subperiod in the major period of Venus Venus dasa - 20 years Sun dasa - 6 years hence 20 x 6 = 120 = 12 months and 0 x 3 days = 12 months Thus the Suns antardasa or subperiod or bhukti in venus dasa is 12 months or 1 year. To find further interperiods Say to find interperiod of Jupiter in the antardasa of Saturn in the dasa of Ketu ketu dasa = 7 years saturn subperiod or antardasa in ketu is 13 months and 9 days In 120 years - Jupiter dasa is 16 years in 13 months 9 days ? ? = 1 month 23 days 4.8 hrs Thus the jupiter interperiod is 1 month 23 days and 4.8 hrs Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
