Guest guest
Wendy ji / Nilesh ji / Sari ji, Many thanks for offering to teach me how to calculate Dasas! :-) BTW, regarding Mannerheim's chart I don't have any Jyotish software at the office, so I can't comment on the chart per se. However, the mutual aspects of Sani and Kuja usually adds stubbornness, right? This might also be important for a military leader - the stubborn desire to go ahead and win no matter what. The stubbornness can be good or bad depending on lordship. Here, Sani as Raja Yoga Karaka enhances by aspects - while Kuja gains beneficience because his moolatrikona falls in a Kendra. Still, significances of 2nd and the 7th, owned by Kuja might have suffered. Sari ji - any idea about his wealth and wife? Or, anything else associated with the 2nd and the 7th house? >From the Net I found that "In 1892 Mannerheim married Anastasia Arapova, daughter of Major General Nicholas Arapov. They had two daughters, Anastasia and Sofia (Sophy). The marriage was dissolved in 1903." This is perhaps because of Sukra occupying 7th [Karako Bhava Nashyaha], Sani's aspect on 7th as the Karaka of loneliness, and Neechatva of 7th lord. Also, Kuja posited in the star of 9th lord Budha can also give him the luck to win in battle. Lagnadipati Sukra aspects Lagna and fortifies it too, and this is another bonus. He also suffered by rheumatism, ruled by Sani. What caused it? Perhaps, the aspect of Sukra, the lord of the 8th that rules chronic ailments? He was expelled from his school for disciplinary reasons - again stubbornness? Also, 2nd governs breaks in education, right? ///Whilst on the topic of SA, I might comment (quickly) here that this system was devised by VK Choudhry in 1991. After some years of studying the classics he gave up trying to make sense of the apparent contradictions found in Parashara/Jaimini etc., and devised his own system. Certainly, due to the dominance of moolatrikona, his system (based on this) has had some success. But with so much extracted, the system does (in my opinion) fall down./// Yes, Wendy ji, this is sad - as you have pointed out many times to me, a solid understanding of the karatatwas of bhavas and grahas (natural/lordship) is perhaps all that one needs to learn to become a good Jyotish. Of course, there are a lot of other things too - but, these fundamentals do take us far. It is a good thing I joined your group (I was doing Rahu Bukti then - 9th lord [sani Vad Rahu], in 7th house of foreign affairs perhaps led me unerringly to your site! :-) and I managed to learn the fundamentals properly! :-) ~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan * http://www.sherlock-holmes.com/balaji.htm Author, Sherlock Holmes: Solutions from the Sussex Downs Editor, The Partial Art of Detection ~~~~~~~

Sari: I happened to write my own analysis in the same time than you, so you can see that you were right to the point. Your analysis on the whole was right to the point, I think. Including the note about break in early education. I think Mannerheim was quite stubborn, at least he demanded perfection both from himself and others. One famous anecdote is "Marski's drink" - in the official parties he offered he used to fill the glasses to the brim with vodka and then enjoyed watching the frightened officers trying to bring the glass on their lips without splashing. He never splashed himself. Best, Sari
