Guest guest
Thanks Rui for the beautiful virtual pictures of Killarney. The technology is really cool!! All the pictures are beautiful! I hope you had a wonderful Holiday. I have ancestors who have operated and lived in the lighthouse from County Mayo for more than three hundred years. They just got electricity a few years ago. About P.C.'s. I am glad that Wendy's Norton virus scanner is helping, per you suggestion. Within 6months of each other in 2003 and 2004 my computer was invaded big time by viruses. Once I had to replace my whole computer because the hard drive was completely corrupted. Since then a year later in 2005 my computer suffered another onslaught but not as bad because I had virus protection. Ultimately, My computer is now well secured with every spy ware and virus/spam protection with firewalls up. I get notices if something is unusual before any material is allowed through. Also, my spam activator is on. However, I have learned the hard way to take no chances and I have my computer DAILY scanned for viruses and cookies and aware and any corruption potential. It takes about two hours everyday - for the computer to go through all my machinery and files but it is worth it. My DSL connection frequently goes down but this is due to its carrier and few towers in the area. It is a pain and frustrating but for the most part I do not loose my work on the screen or anything uploaded. Instead, everything just freezes until I can get my connection back up. In the meantime, I really love the pictures of Killarney and the site that provides the visual experience. Looking at the green grass and mountains and water - I just know I was born of the earth and relish the scenery. It truly is God's country. Guest guest
Dear Uttara Phalguini, I too have Irish ancestry but from the one of the many Patten families in Donegal. My great grandfather was Irish. I am like a mongrel ;-) On mother's side, Spanish great grandmother and Irish great grandfather; on father's side, Dutch and Portuguese ancestors. My laptop is still in need of repair but am using an old one and yesterday have removed over 600 worms!!! These are not viruses but they do make the PC very slow. I still find hard to understand why some people create those things... A friend of mine has an apple computer and she says with MAC operating system viruses are very very rare... Thanks for your email and all the best, Rui - the Uttara Shada ;-) muttaraphalguni <muttaraphalguni wrote: Thanks Rui for the beautiful virtual pictures of Killarney. The technology is really cool!!
