Guest guest
Dear Members, In both this group and the old (some years ago), I raised the subject of the strong hereditary link within families...older members will remember this, I'm sure. The last time I broached this subject (not so long ago) I gave the example of my own family...in fact I believe I gave several examples in the old group discussion. EXAMPLE: Father: Libra lagna, Capricorn Moon. Mother: Capricorn Lagna, Libra Moon. 1st Child: Capricorn Sun. 2nd Child: Libra Sun. Of course there's much more to be seen when we examine the horoscopes in full, but the most basic thing is the strong (undeniable) link between the luminaries and Ascendant that exists within families. The reason I've brought this up again is that I've just been leafing through the new book on my shelf, "Scientific Hindu Astrology" by Prof. P.S. Sastri, and came across the following (Vol 1. page 89). He says: "One of the curious manifestations of karma is to be found in a certain similarity appearing in a number of horoscopes that share the same heredity to some extent. When you consider the horoscopes of all the members of a given family, you will find a remarkable similarity. The astrological factors get repeated, thus emphasising the part played by heredity." he goes on to say: "For purposes of illustration I refer to the positions of the luminaries and of the ascendants." This book is still very new and I haven't yet found time to actually sit down and read it properly - just leafing through the pages when I have a few moments to spare. He does devote some time to discussing the trans-Saturnian planets (Neptune, Uranus and Pluto), but this is not something I give much credence to...for many reasons, which we might discuss sometime when I'm not so stretched (for spare time) as I am at the moment. Those interested in acquiring this book will find a link here: http://jyotishvidya.com/recommend.htm PS: I've changed the look/function of the (above) page completely after discovering what Amazon.com had done with the links. I've now removed all their links. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ______________________________
Guest guest
Thanks for the book recommendation Wendy, I too have read in the past the significance of family hereditary links in astrological charts. Some years back when I was first constructing charts of my family I noticed this correlation and over the years have come to understand that some families are closer linked than others and those families that are, have a similar purpose in their destiny to work out. Often on different layers but non-the-less similar. Here is an example of my family for the group. Father: Cancer Asc, Scorpio Moon, Taurus Sun Mother: Virgo Asc, Taurus Moon, Cancer Sun lst child: Taurus Asc, Cancer Moon, Virgo Sun 2nd child: Cancer Asc, Capricorn Moon, Gemini Sun Son-In-Law: Cancer Asc, Taurus Moon, Cancer Sun Father's ASC sits at Cancer 0* 2nd child's Moon sits at Capricorn 0* jyotish-vidya, "Wendy Vasicek" <jyotish@o...> wrote: > > Dear Members, > > In both this group and the old (some years ago), I raised the > subject of the strong hereditary link within families...older > members will remember this, I'm sure. Guest guest
Dear List, This is interesting indeed. Here are the luminaries and ascendants that are common in my family: Father: Sag Moon, Cap Sun Mother: Leo Sun Daughter: Cap Sun Son: Leo Asc, Sag Moon During the last transit of Saturn over the natal Moon for both Father and Son, the Father and Mother got divorced. That certainly was a rough time for everyone in the family. Guest guest
Dear Sean (and Uttara), Thank you both for your contribution to this thread :-) This strong hereditary link is certainly confirmation that, long before the scientists discovered such genetic family traits stored in DNA, such things have been evident in horoscopy from the beginning. We just have to become more expert in reading these traits. In regards to the disposition towards certain (hereditary) diseases, we can certainly understand the role of Sun/lagna as they relate to the physical body... It would be a good exercise for members to conduct their own research on this. It's said that twins (normally) skip a generation... I have found this true in many cases. For instance I am a twin, and, skipping a generation, I have twin grandchildren. This same phenomenon can sometimes be seen in regards to certain genetic traits. For instance, the last grand-daughter doesn't have a strong match with either parent, but the link is there with grandmother (myself). More study in this area would be good... Guest guest
Yes, Wendy, This would make for further research and comment from others members. In my family: My father is a twin. He had eight children (one adopted) his twin sister had one adopted child. My father's older sister's daughter had twins. Both my husband and I have lost older siblings. His mother miscarried second trimester first pregnancy. My husband was born a year later. My mother lost her first child 6 hours after she was born. Even tough it was a healthy delivery and a full term baby, One of Christine's lungs collapsed shortly after birth and never fully recovered. I believe to today one would call this post natal persistent pulmonary hypertension. I was born 11months and one day later. Both my grandmothers, and on my mother's side - great grandmother's, lost spouses and children. Mostly due to influenza and pneumonia. My husband's mother was also very allergenic and asthmatic. Unfortunately, when my husband was just a few months after turning 2 years old his mother died from an allergic reaction to anesthesia. My husband as a child and teenager was very allergic and severely asthmatic. Both my children are very allergic and asthmatic with my son being the worse of the two with asthma. I didn't know years earlier that allergy and asthma carries down from the mother to the son and his line of off spring. If I had known then what I know now..... My husband and I tried to adopt too. But we were turned down twenty six ago because we were unwilling to take an older, handicapped child than our four year old daughter. Caucasian babies were a rarity then too in the USA. I could go on, but suffice is to say, ones family values, their conditioning, learned behaviors and illnesses are not only heredity and genetically passed down through the years, but often show up in multi generational natal charts too.
