Guest guest
Hi Wendy, I consulted with an astrologer and he has portrayed a fairly grim picture up until April 2007 (financial, career and personal). I would like to know if things will really be this bad and if there are any remedies. Guest guest
Hi All, I had posted previously on jv, and since then been a lurker. Here is what I have been able to glean from the exchanges in this group so far (this is pertaining to my own horoscope). House Sign Ruler Planet 1 Cancer Moon Sun 2 Leo Sun Moon, Mercury, Venus 3 Virgo Mercury 4 Libra Venus 5 Scorpio Mars Ketu 6 Sagittarius Jupiter 7 Capricon Saturn 8 Aquarius Saturn Saturn 9 Pisces Jupiter 10 Aries Mars 11 Taurus Venus Rahu 12 Gemini Mercury Jupiter The sign at sunrise gets assigned to the 1st house, which in my case is Cancer. This is also known as the ascendant or Lagna and has some significance. The planet(s) which are in that sign at that time are then assigned to that house in this case Sun. Each sign then gets assigned to a house as per the zodiac. The sign which has the moon assigned to that house/sign gives rise to the rashi or Moonsign, which in my case is Simha or Leo. Each house? or rashi is further divided into Nakshatras. Depending on the angle of the Moon determines the nakshatra that it is in. In my case, this is PoorvaPhalguni. There are also relationships between the planets i.e. friendly, neutral and enemy. Since Cancer is ruled by the Moon which is friendly to the Sun, Sun being in Cancer may be considered to be good. Houses 1,4,7,10 have a special consideration as do other combinations of houses. In addition, there are other charts that give insight into different areas of life. The houses also signify different parts of the body and can be used to predict medical conditions. Since there is a difference between the lunar calendar and Gregorian Calendar, there are some time adjustment calcuations that different sources have devised and is termed Ayanamsa. Depending on which one is used this could give certain differences. Astrology is a predictive study. I am not calling it a science due to the accepted modern definition of science. Since it is predictive in Nature, means that all predictions are based on probabilities. I would even draw a likeness to meteorology and weather which term chances of rain or snow with a percentage. Similar to the Weather forecast the likelihood of an event happening is more predictable the closer it is in time, an event likely to happen next week or next month is easier to predict than say one 5 or ten years out, which also follows the norms for statistical forecasting. I would like to find out what is the precedence of the principles that are/can be applied to come to a conclusion/prediction. Something similar to the precedence applied in Mathematics (Parenthese, Exponenents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction). As such how can I discern various predictions given to me and validate them. regards, Kashyap jyotish-vidya, "rkashyap00" <enigmacmpr wrote: > > Hi Wendy, > > I consulted with an astrologer and he has portrayed a fairly grim > picture up until April 2007 (financial, career and personal). I was looking at both the horoscopes that I have with me and the Dasa dates seem to be differing by a few months, but according to both I am running Rahu/Me. regards, Kashyap Dear Kashyap, You Wrote: //As such how can I discern various predictions given to me and validate them.// The best way is to put forward the prediction (as you did in an earlier post) and then, time permitting, members can explain how this prediction was arrived at. Guest guest
Hi, Just wanted to follow up on the specific predictions made by the astrologer.. Health: Indifferent health. Poor health of spouse, Poor Health of Children "Both children have been falling ill alternately and my daughter has been admitted 3 times to emergency. Though my wife and I have not been been ill, there is a general feeling of malaise and low energy." Career: This year will be too challenging and very difficult to handle. Lots of ups and downs.Authorities and superiors will be constantly against you. All initiatives to redeem the situation will meet with many obstructions and delays. You may also have to face legal problems related to your style of work. From Nov 2006 you will start another phase in career that will be even more difficult and clearly against your growth prospects till 20 Apr 2007. Finance: Expenses will far outstrip the resources. Wastage of much money on avoidable activities, medical issues and legal problems will be major drains. In case you cannot take appropriate measures to stop wastages running into debts will be a clear possibility. Financially the period till 20 Apr 2007 will be very risky and difficult to handle. I am doing an executive MBA and have taken a loan to finance it. The astrologer goes on to say that there will be no income in 2008-2009 despite my best efforts and network. I am undergoing sade saathi and am wondering if this is the cause for all the turbulence. If so what kind of remedies can I pursue to mitigate the effects. regards, Kashyap >Hi, > >I do not have any software, was transcribing from one of the 2 >horoscopes that I have. Guest guest
Dear Kashyap, Weekends are (supposedly) my time away from the computer in order to enjoy some rest and recreation - it doesn't always work out as planned :-) However, as your query does need one's full attention, I'll leave it until Monday (after the weekend). Of course, it goes without saying, that other members may also offer their comments in the meantime if they wish... Guest guest
Hi Wendy, I look forward to your analysis. I do have a question for you. Rahu and Ketu are supposed to be exalted in my horoscope. Given all that I have read so far, it would seem that if a planet is exalted it would give good results in its Mahadasa. Is this the correct way to interpret this? Hope you had a restful weekend. regards, Kashyap ________________ Switch to Netscape Internet Service. As low as $9.95 a month -- Sign up today at http://isp.netscape.com/register Netscape. Guest guest
Dear Kashyap, //I look forward to your analysis. I do have a question for you. Rahu and Ketu are supposed to be exalted in my horoscope. Given all that I have read so far, it would seem that if a planet is exalted it would give good results in its Mahadasa. Is this the correct way to interpret this?// Apologies for delay, I'm afraid I got a little sidetracked. Yes, indeed (according to Parashara) Rahu is exalted in Taurus and Ketu gets exalted in Scorpio. You have Ketu in 5th house of children indicating that the qualities of Ketu will be strong in your children. This is also a good placement for meditation, spiritual practices and so forth. //"Both children have been falling ill alternately and my daughter has been admitted 3 times to emergency."// The aspect of F/M Saturn (on 5th) from 8th house can be detrimental in regards to the health of children and the presence of Ketu indicates things that may be difficult to diagnose and therefore treat effectively. Ketu is currently transiting 5th lord Mars (his dispositor) who occupies sign of Mercury (your bhukti lord). Mercury himself, along with Venus (dispositor of Jupiter), occupies nakshatra of Ketu. Hence the difficulties you speak of in regards to the health of your children. The transit of Saturn (Sade Sati) in 12th from Moon adds to the difficulties as he's aspecting 5th lord Mars...his (natal) aspect on 5th is strengthened due to his (transit) aspect on 5th lord. You're in the 1st phase of Sade Sati and, with a long way to go, I advise you to take steps to pacify this most malefic planet (lord of 7th/8th). One of the cheapest and (supposedly) most effective remedies is to wear a Shani (black horse shoe) ring. You may obtain one from the following link /dispCategory.php?catId=27 >From your Astrologer: //Career: This year will be too challenging and very difficult to handle. Lots of ups and downs.Authorities and superiors will be constantly against you. All initiatives to redeem the situation will meet with many obstructions and delays. You may also have to face legal problems related to your style of work. From Nov 2006 you will start another phase in career that will be even more difficult and clearly against your growth prospects till 20 Apr 2007.// Again, the aspect of both natal and transit Saturn on 10th house can indicate setbacks in regards to occupation/status etc.. His (transit) aspect on Mars is also difficult in this regard as Mars is lord of 10th (as well as 5th). It would be good if, along with wearing Shani ring, you could chant mrtyunjaya mantra (one mala daily) for 16 weeks. Perhaps, at another time, we can talk of the aspect of 6th lord Jupiter...as we know 6th house (8th from 11th) is associated with debt. But, for now, I must leave it here as I have rather a busy day ahead of me. PS: Please remember we all go through Sade Sati - for some it can be quite difficult, but there are things we can do to alleviate the burden of this transit. If so what kind of remedies can I pursue to mitigate the effects. regards, Kashyap

Also could not make any sense of your second post regarding Viparit Yogas. I was not sure what you were alluding to in this case. Just wanted to add that in the case of career, at this point in time, I do not need to refer to astrology to know that I am in for a rough six-seven months. The situation at work is such that I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. It does not help that I have taken on an additional burden of continuing my education. I am already wearing an iron ring on the middle finger. Can you tell me what day I should start reciting the Maha-Mritunjay sloka? Also wanted to confirm that this is the entire sloka to be recited? "Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim pushti vardhanam! Urvarukamiva - bandhanan - Mruthyormukeshiya mamruthath" Also can you please confirm when Sade Sati commenced for me? I have two dates - September 2004 and May 2005 The astrologer who made the predictions also made repeated references to secret or hidden enemies. I don't know if this makes sense to you but it is the closest that I could translate this. I am trying to seek the silver lining if there is one over here. regards, Kashyap ________________ Switch to Netscape Internet Service. Guest guest
Dear Kashyap, //Pardon my ignorance, but can you please expand on F/M and also bhukti lord.// F/M means Functional Malefic. Saturn is a functional malefic for Cancer lagna as it owns 7th/8th houses. Bhukti lord means (is same as) Antardasa lord (or sub-lord). //Also could not make any sense of your second post regarding Viparit Yogas. I was not sure what you were alluding to in this case.// Vipreet (Raj?) Yoga is formed when a dusthana lord (6, 8, 12) occupies a dusthana house. In your case Saturn owns and occupies 8th house. This placement favours longevity and other 8th house matters, no doubt; however malefic Saturn's aspect on such vital houses as 10th, 2nd and 5th is unfavourable, indicating setbacks, disappointments, delays etc.. You may face major changes in regards to these houses. //Just wanted to add that in the case of career, at this point in time, I do not need to refer to astrology to know that I am in for a rough six-seven months. The situation at work is such that I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. It does not help that I have taken on an additional burden of continuing my education.// When things are difficult perseverance is needed. Saturn is strong in your chart and he will certainly test your patience and endurance...at the same time he gives you the perseverance that only strong Saturn can give. //I am already wearing an iron ring on the middle finger.// Good! //Can you tell me what day I should start reciting the Maha-Mritunjay sloka?// To the best of my knowledge you can begin this on any day...the sooner the better. Other members might offer more on this :-) Also wanted to confirm that this is the entire sloka to be recited? "Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim pushti vardhanam! Urvarukamiva - bandhanan - Mruthyormukeshiya mamruthath" Yes, "Om tryambakam........etc." //Also can you please confirm when Sade Sati commenced for me? I have two dates - September 2004 and May 2005// Sade Sati commenced when Saturn moved into Cancer...perhaps another member can confirm the actual date for you. //The astrologer who made the predictions also made repeated references to secret or hidden enemies. I don't know if this makes sense to you but it is the closest that I could translate this.// Secret enemies are those who work against you behind the scene...the most difficult to deal with (obviously) as their intentions are hidden. 12th house governs secret enemies and you are currently undergoing the bhukti of 12th lord Mercury. This, again, many people experience from time to time. I personally have recent experience of this whilst undergoing sookshmantar of 12th lord Jupiter who is transiting Moon in 10th house. If I'm not mistaken this house also shows 'tidings of enemies'. //I am trying to seek the silver lining if there is one over here.// The silver lining is that nothing will happen that's not meant to happen. Forewarned, as they say, is forewarned and, with determination and armed with an understanding of the nature of karma, you will get through. No dasa or transit is all good or all bad...through all there are ups and downs. This is the way it is for everyone (baring the few who manage to live a charmed life). If we can learn to accept change rather than fight against it we might quicker come to the conclusion that Saturn, like all the grahas, has our best interest at heart ultimately. People resist Saturn and, more than anything else, it's the resistance that causes the grief...not Saturn but our own resistance to his will. Be faithful in chanting mrtyunjaya, fast on Saturdays and look upon Saturn with reverence and devotion rather than fear...try to understand his will if you can. If you can do this you'll come to know the blessing that only Saturn can bring. He's a strong moksha lord for you and he's in mutual aspect to the other two moksha lords...consider lagna lord's involvement with these lords. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ______________________________
Guest guest
Dear Kashyap, I think you can start reciting the mantra on Saturday after paying homage to Sani. You can also offer some oil with black Sesame seeds. //"Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim pushti vardhanam! > Urvarukamiva - bandhanan - Mruthyormukeshiya mamruthath" > > Yes, "Om tryambakam........etc."// I think the last word of the mantra is "yamamuthakh" Wendyji, Is Saturn a F/M for Gemini when he owns the 8th and 9th with the moolatrikona sign being the 9th house? Guest guest
Dear Nilesh, //Is Saturn a F/M for Gemini when he owns the 8th and 9th with the moolatrikona sign being the 9th house?// Parashara tells us two things: 1) Moolatrikona sign takes precedence over own sign, and.. 2) Trikona lordship will stall the evil of malefic lordship. This is not a direct (verbatim) quote as I haven't time to look it up at the moment, but the gist of it is correct :-) //I think the last word of the mantra is "yamamuthakh"// The mantra is given here http://jyotishvidya.com/mrtyunjaya.htm with a link to Swami Nardanand chanting the mantra.
