lost wallet - please advise

A friend of mine lost her wallet, so I did a prasna chart for her

today.

Data is 25 NOV 2005 at 08.30 am in Galway Ireland.

Ascendant Scorpio with 11th house ruler in Ascendant - would it be

correct to say the wallet is still with her?

I am not experienced in prasna charts, but I think 11th house is for

lost objects? Am I correct in saying that?

Now I also see that malefic Mars is also making an aspect at her

ascendant, as well as to her Jupiter, 2nd lord of wealth - maybe she

was robbed? What is the significator for thieves?

Please could you supply some advice? As from what I can see, I would

say her wallet is still in her possession because Mercury, 11th lord

of lost objects is in her Ascendant, but I can also see it is combust

and afflicted by Mars... Plus Jupiter, ruler of wealth (economy,

money - she had her credit card, her money everything in her wallet)

is in the 12th of loss... and also afflicted by Mars...

Will she find her wallet? Was she robbed? She says she left it in the

car, now I also see malefic Mars is aspecting Saturn, ruler of 4th of

cars... If 6th house ruler is signifiactor for thieves, then this

would make sense...

Thank you for your comments, Rui.

Dear Shri Rui ji,

The significance of the loss of wallet of your lady friend as per my prashna

analysis is as under.

The lagna lord in 6th in cancer sign in retrograde holds significance apart

from 7th lord sun in 12th with mercury another retrograde planet but lord of

5th and 8th.

Presence of venus in 11th in fiery sign in sun's nakshtra holds

significance. This position indicates that the wallet was handed over by a

stranger/also a helper type to a head/elder person with some quthority,say in

the matter.

Aspect of mars too makes clear that knowledge of security personnel.

The nature of item is indicated by 11th lord jupiter as well as lord of 9th

venus.

There will be difficulties as well as problems in claiming back lost articles

'coz of retrograde planets chiefly lagna lord,4th lord and 6th lord.

Hope for retrieval exists aspect of 9th lord venus on 6th as well as jupiter

aspect on lagna.

Atmakarak Venus in 8th and in the watery sign of mar's indicates dificulties

in getting back from security personnel. It is lekely the issue may take at least

4-6 weeks.probably your friends relative who is also in acquaintence may be of

help in retrieval of the lost article.

In this case chora graha is 7th lord, sun in 10th in watery sign indicates it

is kept in a place covered in some cloth, possibly green.

If help of a relation like brother, uncle and an elder known person is

obtained, the article can be retrieved with some effort.

Dear Rui and All,

Although Prashna Kundali is a legitimate technique used when birth

time is not available, I do feel it's over utilised today whilst

Gochara(transits) in conjunction with dasa periods is

under-utilised. There are many instances, even today, where a person

does not know the time of birth and in some cases EVEN THE DATE is

uncertain, and it's here that Prashna comes into its own and can be

used to answer a particular question where otherwise it would not be

possible... Parashara makes this clear in the following slokas.

Ch. 78. Lost Horoscopy

"1-2. Maitreya said. O Sage! You have so far described the

auspicious

and inauspicious effects to be enjoyed, or suffered by a person on

the basis of the time of birth, but can the auspicious and

inauspicious be ascertained, when the time of birth is not known?

Kindly tell me, if there is any way to solve this problem.

3-4. The Sage said. Your question is a good one and is for the

benefit of the world at large. Considering your attachment, I will

tell you about this problem also. If any, or all amongst the

Samvatsar, Ayana, Ritu, month, Paksha, Tithi, Nakshatra, Lagna,

Rasi, or Amsas etc. of the birth are not known, these can be

ascertained from Prasna Lagna (Query chart)."

Prashna is, as we know, the transit(gochara) chart drawn for the

time a question is presented to the astrologer... It's a tool the

astrologer can use when, due to lack of accurate birth chart, he can

consult the grahas on behalf of the native PROVIDING THE PROPER

CRITERIA IS MET...and this is important!

Casting a Prashna chart is a very profound interaction between the

querist and the astrologer who needs to be able to observe many

things i.e; the signs coming from the environment, the countenance

of the querist and so forth. That unique moment that exists between

the two (astrologer and querist) is the basis of Prashna Kundali -

that moment, the sages tell us, is as unique and profound as the

moment of birth which gives rise to Janma Kundali. Like most things

in this age of (impersonal) internet communications, Prashna is

devoid of the very thing that makes it unique.

I do believe that, in this environment of impersonal internet

communications, gochara in conjunction with birth chart should be

used whenever possible.. simply because, although (again) not ideal,

both the astrologer and the transiting grahas have a strong

connection with the native through the birth chart. Of course the

most subtle interaction, required for a good reading is still

lacking, but this is not so vital (perhaps) as the interaction

needed for casting prashna.

It's okay, I feel, for astrology students to practice their skills

and gain experience in applying the rules of jyotish to given charts

on these discussion groups, so long as the owner of the chart is

aware that this is what's happening.

I really don't like the way the groups have evolved... where once

they were a place for "discussion" they have now evolved pretty much

into guru promoting, politically orientated forums (Oh! yes, there

are politics within every community, unfortunately, and very strong

amongst the jyotish community). Only a very small percent of members

today (on any group) actually participate in discussions, either to

learn or to share their knowledge with others; the rest either sit

patiently in the background waiting for a discussion (from which

they might learn something) or have joined only to get a reading of

their horoscope... usually they go away dissatisfied and look for a

reading on other groups.

I remember clearly someone saying (back on the old group) that many

experienced astrologers (on the group) stayed in the background,

preferring not to speak... I was astounded! Not so today because

I've come to accept that this is simply the way it is. The point to

my grievous complaints is that I feel now I've probably had enough

and it's time I took a break from the (constant) stress that has

become part and parcel of maintaining such a group. I've done it

long enough and had so many sleepless nights that chronic insomnia

has become the norm. I'm now going to step back from it all for

awhile and enjoy some stress-free living if I can. The group will

remain for those who wish to use it...

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Mrs wendy,

Being a very senior member, the concern shown in the following lines pose a

question on the standards and quality of the issues raised as well as the

members enthu indicated in participation of discussion

We have always respected Mrs Wendy for her words of wisdom and forbearence

with junior members. But then, some kind of generalisation coming out of the

posting needs an inward look for one and all sincere in extending their counsel.

"Gochara(transits) in conjunction with dasa periods is under-utilised"

Anyway, some how Iam finding it difficult to pallet as analysis of dasa always

made keeping in view the gochara.is some body also raise oncern in the said

analysis tajik aspects,I do not think this effort was reflected as subdued.

The other issue pointed out need further consideration as the topics time and

again are mostly repetitive and not in the taste of larger section.

Added to this some members do not really hesitate to take advantage for their

own personal motives.May be in this context the observation looks some what can

be moderated.

"the rest either sit patiently in the background waiting for a discussion

(from which they might learn something) or have joined only to get a reading of

their horoscope..."

We all wish and opine that these remarks just momentary and wise counsel will

continued for the benifit of group.Effort however is required to remove

sincerely such impressions.

Dear Mrs Wendy and all,

I totally agree with you, not that I have studied the matter in question as

well as you have, but I do agree that prasna charts should only be cast when the

natal chart cannot be used... And that is what has happened since this girl has

no clue what time she was born.

Actually, if we look at this prasna chart, cast for 8.30, we will see that 2nd

house lord of wealth is in 12th house of loss, afflicted by Mars (a close

aspect) - I believe I was wrong in referring at first to the 11th lord for lost

objects, I should have looked for 2nd lord of wealth... Mars ruler of 6th

signifies thieves and since it is aspecting both the lagna and the 2nd lord, I

am not surprised she has not found her wallet.

As I said, I agree 100% with Mrs Wendy that maybe it is not "very scientific"

(**my own words now**) to cast prasna charts, the same way I think that of Tarot

or Angel Cards, because at the time of the readings people may be influenced by

negative energies and that is why I chose to channel my energy towards

Astrology, which I personally think is actually a Science... However all the

**few prasna charts that I have cast till now have been quite accurate...

Kind regards, Rui.

Dear friends,

Prashna technique is to be used very sparingly when all other channels

are exhausted. Questions through Internet, FAX and through other

modern gadgets defeat the very purpose of Prashana.

This is my personal opinion.

Still in the instant case, I am of the view, the owner is not going to

Dear Rui,

My apologies! I'm afraid I was a little short on patience at the

time of writing that mail. As I'm sure you know, Western astrology

has much success (also) predicting with transits only. However the

sages, in their wisdom, have laid down certain parameters for

casting Prashna chart, which are in fact similar in many ways to the

parameters for casting Natal chart.

I know myself that casting the birth chart in the presence of the

native cannot be compared to reading a chart over the internet where

the personal connection, which sharpens the intuition of the

astrologer, is missing. This is such a vital element... I can't

begin to tell you :-)

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Prashna technique is to be used very sparingly when all other channels

are exhausted. Questions through Internet, FAX and through other

This is my personal opinion.

Still in the instant case, I am of the view, the owner is not going to

get his article again.

Dear Friends,

No natal chart was provided.

She got her wallet back today. An old woman (Saturn) found it.

Thanks, Rui.

Dear Mr Rui and others.

will you mind to trace my reading with reference to:old woman (Saturn) found

it.

Let's us not express in harsh and fury what sages have in those days of

sublime nature when every thing was meant only to advance intellectual

capacities.sur we as humans certainly have limitations in our situations

changing from time to time from due to births and deaths

Somehow I would like to plead and request to try also efficacy of prasna in

times of need.may not be correct to dump it.Pl give trial.

Thanx to mr Rui for his kind gesture to inform pl

Dear Mr. Krishnan,

I came to the conclusion "the owner is not going to get his article

again" based on prashna techniques only. I have been observing

certain points/factors when I go through "Chor Prashnas" or "loss of

articles". They are my own observations. They can't be claimed as

unfailing rules; they are mere observations. That observation has

not worked on this chart. I always open to change or modify those

observations when they sufficiently fail.

My conclusion went wrong. I dont worry about that. It does not

mean "prashna techniques are not working". It means "my

understanding is lacking" and "I have not used the technique in

right perspective or I am not able to apply those rules properly".

I would really go through that chart once again leisurely (the

prashna chart which is at issue presently).

I have no intention to underestimate the validity or the efficacy of

Prashna. The sages clearly laid down certain rules when prashna

technique is to be used or one is resorted to. My point was

restricted to that only.

Of course, Prashna gives splendid results and it has got its own

limitations too. One should keep this in mind when one is resorting

to that technique. This is what I meant when I wrote that my

message. No offence intended to any.
