Guest guest
Dear Group, I'm not sure exactly when hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans so am not certain of the position/degree of transit Moon in the US chart...hopefully someone can supply that information for me. I have my own chart for US, based on my own research and rectification I did some time ago. I've watched it off and on and (so far) events seem to tally. This chart (Jul 4 1776, 17:55 Philadelphia, PA) has Dasa lord Moon, lord of 8th, occupying 3rd in sign of Aquarius and bhukti lord Mercury conjunct Rahu in 8th. In transit, Moon and his dispositor Saturn are (were?) conjunct in 8th house of calamities in the watery sign of Cancer...there's other interesting factors in this chart connected (both) to the recent catastrophe in New Orleans, resulting in many lives lost, and the ongoing war in Iraq...etc, etc.. However I'll leave it at this for now until (or if) anyone wishes to discuss the chart in light of the ongoing and (recent) events. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ______________________________
Guest guest
- Dear Wendy, I am glad that you have taken up this devastation for astrological study. The current movement of planets especially the mutual aspect of Mars and Saturn is creating havoc all over the world. Katrina in USA, stampede in Iraq, unexpected floods in India, oil platforms destroyed in Gulf of Mexico and oil platform destroyed in Arabian Sea. There has been a tremendous loss of human lives as well as resources. This placement and mutual aspect will continue till Jan/ Feb I think. Jupiter will move to Libra in Sept and will be aspecting Mars. This might help in toning down some violent effects that Mars is having. Guest guest
Dear Krishnan and All, I can't remember now whether it was two years ago, or more or less, when I researched the documents related to the American declaration of independence and came up with the chart I've been working with ever since. Of all the information gathered at that time, the most convincing (for me) was Thomas Jefferson's own account of the events that led up to the proclamation. In his words: "The debates having taken up the greater parts of the 2d 3d & 4th days of July were, in the evening of the last, closed, the declaration was reported by the committee, agreed to by the house and signed by every member present except Mr. Dickinson." Based on this, and other research, I had an approximate time (early evening - close to 6:00PM). There are many things in this chart that point to its accuracy, including America's status as a "Superpower" seen with Saturn in 10th. This Saturn is by far the strongest (most influential) planet in the horoscope (considering overall (shadbala) strength). 10th lord conjunct Rahu in 8th is testimony to the many wars that have shaped this nations destiny. 1) The War of Independence 1775-1783 2) The War of 1812 3) Mexican-American War 1846-1848 4) The Civil War 1861-1865 5) The Spanish American War 1898 6) World War 1 7) World War 11 8) The Korean War 9) Vietnam War 10) Desert Storm 11) Current Iraqi War There were other lesser Wars such as: Tripolitan War 1801-1805 Creek Indian War 1813-1814 The first Seminole War 1818-1819 Texas Revolutionary War 1835-1836 Second Seminole War 1835-1842 and so forth.... Guest guest
Dear Nilesh, Yes indeed you're correct. Also, if I'm not mistaken, each season is governed by a particular planet, i.e. Sun & Mars-Summer, Mercury-Autumn, and so forth. I'm not sure of this but is it not the case that America's hurricane season is towards late summer-early autumn?? The mutual aspect of MA/SA, although both in sign of Mercury, occurs in (USA) natal chart also.
