Guest guest
Dear Acharya Vasudev, Thanks for your fine analysis. Jyotish is really amazing especially the interpretations of the chart from different perspectives. Regarding enlightenment maybe i will hope for it (or is it that u get it when you are totally hopeless). Your are right about my inclination about the interpretations about my spiritual inclinations. I have dabbled in many practices of different traditions with some interesting experiences. And of course I havent been consistent in my practise. Since I have broken the ice, I think I will participate more actively in this group. On another note, I have been in close proximity with many mystics and teachers. Most notable being UG Krishnamurti, the iconoclastic sage, philosopher or mystic (or whatever many people choose to call him.). I am giving his birth info for analysis in this group. It is an extremely interesting chart and also his life story corresponds quite accurately to classical interpretations. U.G. Guest guest
Dear Vasu, I came across the horoscope of U.G. Krishnamurti some years ago and did look at it briefly after reading some information about his enlightenment on the web. However I never really studied it deeply as the interest wasn't great at the time. My interest was triggered again when you posted his details and I've been looking over his chart in reference to the information (on the Web) about his life. I've tried in vain however to find any site that actually confirms his time of birth. Can you tell me the source of the time you have and (importantly) it's authenticity as there are many things that lead me to believe he has Taurus lagna (not Gemini). According to information I have his mother died shortly after his birth and he was raised by his maternal grandparents. This suggests Ketu, significator for maternal grandparents, occupying lagna. Another important fact is the nature of his enlightenment; It was a very physical experience which he described as 'terrible physical torture' and for some years preceding the event he was afflicted with constant headaches...pointing again to MokshaKaraka Ketu conjunct lagna lord Venus in lagna...1st house governs head etc. This all transpired during the mahadasa of Venus. Do you happen to have a precise timeline of events that can be used to rectify his T.O.B. i.e, marriage, separation, birth of children etc.. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com ______________________________ On another note, I have been in close proximity with many mystics and teachers. Guest guest
Dear Wendy, The time of UGs birth was given by UG himself to me. UG finds a great intrest in astrology and palmistry, which is strange because his is a nihilistic teaching. There are lots of astrologers and palmists who hang around UG. Let me briefly give u some of the major events of his life: UGs mother died a week after he was born. He was brought up by his wealthy grandparents. His grandfather was a key member of the theosophical society and used to host many religious heads like Annie Beasant, Shankaracharya of Kanchi, sringeri etc. UG had an interaction with lot of these people and he wanted to be a sanyasi (which he says was more due to the pomp, power and glory of the shankarachayas more than any thing else). The first phase of his life till he was 21 UG practised many sadhanas. He studied yoga under Swami Sivanada saraswathi of rishikesh. Many of his friends (who are still alive) say that he was very harsh and strict on himself while practising asceticism. This was during his saturn main period. He also did his MA in philosophy from madras university and some of his illustrious teachers were Dr Radhakrishnan (philosopher and former president of india) and TMP Mahadevan. UG however had many setbacks in his education and somehow he managed to get his MA degree (during his ME-Me phase). He also met many sages like Ramana Maharishi. The two most important influences in his life were Ramana and Jiddu Krishnamurthi. With JK he had a love-hate relationship. I guess he was highly influenced and challenged by his teachings. UG worked as an international lecturer in theosophical society after he was 21 till he was about 35. During this period he also travelled extensively. UG is an excellent speaker and has all the qualities of a good orator (His second house has Moon, Saturn and Mercury the lagna lord). I think saturn in the second and Sun in the ascendent make him a harsh and fiery speaker who is extremely critical of set norms.UG got married when he was 25 and his married life lasted as long as his mercury dasha lasted. UG had four children out of which one son had polio (5th lord mercury with saturn and also 5th house hemmed between two malefics rahu and mars). UG relocated to america to treat his Son of polio for which he spent a fortune. UG abandoned his family at the start of his ketu dasha and he was wandering peniless like a mad man in london. His wife died a few years later. She went insane in the last years of her life. He says during this time he was like a leaf blown in the wind and he had no will of his own. It was during this time he had many mystical experiences. UG finally met a woman called Valentine with whom he settled down in Switzerland (this was in the beggining of his venus dasha). UG had his spiritual transformnation (or clamity as he terms it) in his 49th year. A couple of years after this event UG has been travelling all over the world meeting people informally and holding informal discussions. This is in brief the life story of UG. Some more details of UG is he is an extremely healthy person for his age. Now in his late 80s he has all his senses intact and extremely attentive and aware of everything. He can read without glasses, has an excellent sense of hearing. He is highly energetic and healthy and has never been to a doctor for many decades. He does not practise any exercises and he is very frugal in eating. Regards, Vasu On 6/19/05, Wendy Vasicek <wenvas wrote: > Dear Vasu, > > I came across the horoscope of U.G. Guest guest
Sorry some mistakes UGs fifth lord is Venus which is in the 12th with ketu. UG also has seen his son die of cancer in the early 80s. Guest guest
Dear Vasu, Thank you for that! Certainly as the T.O.B. was given to you personally it must be accepted as authentic. I note too that Jupiter in lagna (Gemini chart) owns 4th from 4th (maternal grandmother). However the nature of his enlightenment, if we might call it that, certainly needs more reflection.. hopefully I can look more at the chart tomorrow. Thank you also for the life history. Guest guest
Dear Vasu, As an update on this... Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to do much at all the last couple of days. My dear husband has decided that now is a good time to strip, sand, seal, and repaint the ceilings, and, although plastic sheeting was carefully laid, the whole house and everything in it, myself included, is covered in an inch of dust...more sanding tomorrow before the sealer is applied...I feel like running away, WHAT A MESS!! It will be a few more days (at least) before things get back to normal, I'm afraid. Then hopefully I can concentrate on jyotish again. Certainly I would like to look more at this particular chart as I've never come across such a personality as UG Krishnamurti. His views are disconcerting to say the least, very! Regards, Vasu
