Guest guest
Dear All, I recently had a conversation regarding the significator for Pets. There's no doubt, of course, that 6th house governs Pet animals but the planetary significators seem to be foggy. I remember reading some years back that Mars was the significator for cats, Mercury for dogs, whist Jupiter is said to be the significator for horses. I can't remember where I read it now and after a quick search I came up with the following info on G. Kumar's site: www.e.com which seemed to concur (in part). "Planetary Pets - Cats are ruled by the Sun, dogs by Mercury, birds by Venus, horses by Jupiter, fish by Neptune, reptiles by Saturn, and night creatures by Pluto." I don't know where he got his information from but I do remember examining some charts a few years ago after I'd written an article (related to Pets) for Shirley MacLaine's web site. The charts I looked at seemed to confirm my earlier findings. I know that "attachment to Pets" is discouraged according to the dictums of Hinduism...and I understand why. But none-the-less Westerners are very fond of their Pets. I'd be appreciative therefore for any scriptural reference that gives the planetary significators. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com
Guest guest
Namaste, In Jataka Parijata Chapter 2 Verse 15 Venus and Jupiter represent the Animal kingdom. A rare work "Krishneeyam" by Sri Krishna Achaarya mentions in Chapter 1 Verse 43 Saturn represents Jungle birds, Mercury village birds. Moon represents reptiles. Venus and Jupiter 2 legged creatures where venus is water located and Jupiter villaged located. Mars represents flesh eating 4 legged animals. Sun represents vegetable eating 4 legged animals. Again if we look at the vehicles of the planets we find the following: Sun - horse with seven heads Moon - Deer Mars - Ram Mercury - Lion with elephant head ! Jupiter - Elephant Venus - white horse Saturn - Ox Rahu - Lion Ketu - Serpent regards Arun
