Need your help. 1. Both ascendant degree and lord fall in Gandanta, junction of scorpio and Sagi, however, Moon is free from this affliction. What effects this will bring. 2. Lagna lord is also the lord of sixth house. There is an exchange between second and sixth lord. Second lord is also the lord of fifth house. Shall i consider it as an arishta yoga. Does this mean that the benefic nature of lagna lord will take a back seat. 3. Both Saturn and Sun are debilitated and they are aspecting each other. How do i interpret this. Is there any special significance when two planets exchange their house of exaltation. 4. The chart has three retrograde planets. Some literatures say that Retro planets are weak as they are going backwards. On the other hand, we know that Retro planets are closest to earth and should have strong influence. I will say this quickly before I go. It's my understanding that, although the bhava who's lord is Rx is often subject to some setback (delay, reversal etc), any event or effect on the house containing the Rx planet is likely to be longer-lasting due to the slower motion...the overall condition of the planet (aspects etc) is an important consideration, naturally. Motional strength is explained in BPHS Ch.27: 21-23. PLANETARY MOTIONS (MARS TO SATURN): Eight kinds of motions are attributed to planets. These are Vakra (retrogression), Anuvakra (entering the previous sign in retrograde motion), Vikala (devoid of Motion or in stationary position), Manda (somewhat slower motion than usual), Mandatara (slower than the previous mentioned motion), Sama (somewhat increasing in motion as against Manda), Chara (faster than Sama), and Atichara (entering next sign in accelerated motion). The strengths allotted due to such 8 motions are : 60, 30, 15, 30, 15, 7.5, 45, and 30. Bear in mind that motional strength (ChestaBala) is calculated in ShadBala.
