Guest guest
Dear all, I remember to have read somewhere in 'Light on Life' by Hart de Fouw (or is it 'Vault in the Heavens' by Ernst Wilhelm?) that Nakshatra lords are to be used only for purposes of Vimshottari Dasa calculations. If so can we really talk in terms of 'Nakshatra Dispositors' of planets? I am reading BPHS for the first time and have come only upto Chapter 11. Does Parashara talk about Nakshatra dispositors or even about Sign dispositors thereafter? Talking of BPHS, Parashara does talk about Sign aspects or rasi aspects in the 8th or the 9th chapter, in fact even before he talks about planetary aspects. If so why do we not include Sign aspects in the Parashari system? Regards, Venkat jyotish-vidya, sumit dasgupta <sumit_dasgupta> wrote: > > Sun's nakshatra dispositor is also Jupiter. Guest guest
Dear Venkat, Although there is certainly some useful information in Ernst's books, it's a mistake to take everything we read (in modern literature) as gospel. What these authors are presenting is their own understanding...in some instances that understanding is correct, but this is not always so. The ability to discriminate, to sift the chaff from the hay, is something that only comes after many years of experience...one can't even hope to have scratched the surface in just four short months :-) Ernst Wilhelm is known to me personally (for many years) and, although he's undoubtedly quite knowledgeable in many areas, I have to say that accumulation of knowledge and the understanding of it are different matters entirely. Ernst was a long-standing member of the original JyotishVidya group and was a regular contributor for quite some time...many things we agreed upon, many things we did not. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com - "S. Guest guest
Wendy, I have a feeling that in your previous incarnation you must have been a great spiritual person and come back again to finish your work. Guest guest
Dear Babu, What a nice thing to say (whether true or not)! Certainly my karma is focused on 9th house at the moment (Dharma, Vedic science, merits from past lives etc..) and there's no getting away from it. The truth is though Babu that the main reason I closed the old group was because I felt the spiritual life had taken a back seat to jyotish (for too long) and who knows how much time we have left. It's a fine line we tread and the divine essence of jyotish is very appealing...hard to resist! I do long, at times (most of the time), to be away from it all and enjoy the solitude of Self. But there's not much hope of that whilst I'm running Mercury dasa...the intellect is strong in the 9th house and will keep coming back (to it) in spite of my yearning for solitude. I've accepted that for now and hope the body holds out long enough for Ketu dasa...then (maybe) I can withdraw from this activity, or perhaps then I won't need to :-))) Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com - "Babu" <Yash1nt <jyotish-vidya> Friday, February 11, 2005 11:35 PM Re: Re: Indications for Job Change - Nakshatra Dispositors/ Rasi Aspects Wendy, I have a feeling that in your previous incarnation you must have been a great spiritual person and come back again to finish your work.
