Dear Wendy,

As i haven't received any reply on my below query,

requesting you personally to give some inputs. I found

this as a very relevant topic, mostly all my friends

who do a 9to5 job keep inquiring about this.

In addition to what i mentioned below, i also observed

that Jupiter, being the lord of 10th house for Libra

lagna (which is also it's exaltation sign) while

passing thru it, gives a job change.

However, i don't have enough charts and other data to

validate what i wrote so far on this topic.

Can u please help?

Thanks & best regards,

Sumit

Dear All,

Would like to have your inputs on the above subject.

My observations are listed below-

JOB CHANGE

1. Both Dasa lord and Bhukti lord are somehow

connected with 10th house(either from ascendant or

from moon).

2. Aspect of transiting Jupiter on 10th House, even if

it is functional malefic.

3. Lunation (Sun-moon conjunction or opposition) in

very close conjunction with 10th house lord.

4. Mercury as sub-lord always disturbs the existing

status which sometimes lead to a job change.

Invite your valuable comments.

Best regards,

Sumit

Dear Wendy,

Just realised the mistake i made in this mail.

Cancer is the 10th sign and Moon is the 10th lord for

Libra lagna however, it is also exaltation sign for

Jupiter.

Sorry for the trouble.

Best regards,

Sumit

Dear Sumit,

Every chart is different of course and change in career must be

something that's actually indicated by the horoscope. As an example

there are those who've stayed in the same occupation for most of

their life even though they, like everyone else, would experience

the aspect of transiting Jupiter on 10th house many times...same

scenario for the other thumb rules you've listed.

The first step is to consider the stability of 10th house itself and

if there is anything there that indicates ups and downs in

career...if this is so then during dasa/bhukti of planets associated

with 10th change is certainly possible...same scenario with Mercury

as, first and foremost, it's the natural karaka for 10th.

It's possible also that change in daily job (which doesn't actually

involve a change in profession or status) may come about due to

influences associated with 6th house and/or its karaka (Mars). It's

really difficult to give you a definitive answer on this Sumit as

every chart is unique. Perhaps you could present some sample charts

(with time frame of career change) that we could discuss

individually.

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

Dear Sumit,

Since you are doing a bit of research on this I will give you my own

Happily continuing in it.

When I replied to you earlier that in the only job change I had none

of your conditions were met, I missed out my short stint in the

first job. May be it meets your conditions.

I have a collegue of mine who is travelling this week but has had a

few job changes in the past. I will give his particulars on his

return. Regards,

Dear Sumit,

It's now getting rather late here so I've just brought up one chart

for a quick look before I switch off. I chose chart #2 as the native

had five job changes in less than 10 yrs, indicating some

instability (ups and downs) in occupation/work.

This is clearly seen with 6th lord Sun and Mercury conjunct 8th lord

Venus (dispositor of Rahu) in 10th. 8th as we know signifies

change/upheaval etc., as does Rahu. Further to this, 10th lord

Jupiter is conjunct Moon who is also a changeable planet...

I'm afraid I'm a little too weary now to look at transits etc..

Hopefully tomorrow I can do that (and also look at the other

charts). I would like to see our other members also take a look and

add their comments :-)

Dear Sumit an All,

>>Further to this, 10th lord

Jupiter is conjunct Moon who is also a changeable planet...<<

Also note aspect of Saturn to 10th lord Jupiter & Moon (Moon owns

8th from 10th BTW). So undoubtedly "change in occupation" is

indicated in this chart and during the appropriate dasas/transits,

as you indicated previously Sumit, the native is certain to

experience difficulties.

Thumb rules are limited, as I think we saw in the exercise regarding

the conjunction of MA/VE. Every chart is unique and what applies to

one does not necessarily apply to all. It's better to judge the

houses individually for each horoscope rather than rely solely on

"thumb rules"...which sometimes work and often don't. The same

applies to yogas, I've seen many high profile astrologers rectify

charts based solely on particular yogas that they assume should be

present...more often than not the lagna is wrong because their focus

is on the (presumed) yoga and not on the horoscope itself. The chart

of Srila Prabhupada is a good example of this

Dear Wendy,

Thanks a lot. Your replies gave me another important

insight. May be it is apt to first find out the

reasons for instability in Profession. I have just

come across another case wherein the chart indicates

that the native will be deprived of staying in his own

house. He is hopping around various cities with

frequent job changes.

Best regards,

Sumit

Dear Venkat,

Please find below my reading for your chart-

First Job >> In Sun-Ketu period. Sun is Ketu's

dispositor, it is exalted in Navamsa(It's exaltation

sign corresponds to your 10th house in Natal chart)

and also aspected by Natal 10th lord, Mars in

Navamsha. Ketu in it's sub-period activates 2nd house

where Jupiter is also having aspect from 10th house.

Sun's nakshatra dispositor is also Jupiter. Jupiter

receives direct aspect from Mars from 4th house. In

Gochara, Sun was in Cancer aspected by 10th lord Mars

from 10th.

Second Job >> In Sun-Venus period. Venus and Jupiter

are each other's Nakshatra dispositor. In gochara,

Jupiter was in Aquarius aspecting natal Venus and

again second house.

Third Job >> In Rahu-Mer period. Rahu's Nakshatra lord

is Mars, the 10th lord. It's dispositor is Saturn,

which is also connected with your profession, being

the 7th lord (10th from 10th house). Mer is natural

Karaka and also lord of 10th house from Moon. In

gochara, Jupiter was in 11th house in conjunction with

Saturn. Rahu was in your 10th house.

In my opinion, Jupiter always play a significant role

in Job changes, because Jupiter signifies "Expansion"

and a new job normally accompanies expansion in

salary, status, responsibility and exposure which

again come within the domain of Jupiter. In your case

Jupiter is very strongly connected with your

profession as it is posited in 10th house and receives

direct aspect from it's lord.

Also, please note that your first and current job came

in the month of "July". During this time Sun remains

in Gemini, where it is posited in your natal chart as

well. Every year during this time you might have

experienced something good related to your profession.

I have seen such patterns in lot of charts i came

across including mine. In my case, i experience it in

every September (new job, getting new business,

promotion, bonus etc).I am yet to discover any sound

reason behind this pattern but somehow it works.

I welcome others opinion as i am only 5 months old in

this field and trying to learn fast.

Best regards,

Sumit

Dear Sumit,

Kindly go through his chart once again. His Ketu is in Lagna with

Mercury. ( You are telling Sun is ketu's dispositor.)

He mentioned his joining first month of job was Aug 1973.

As per my calculations, he must have got his job during Sa/Ke/Sa or

the begining of Mercury PD.

He first changed his job during Mo/Mo/Jup. Why it has happened ?

Any house lord having any connection with 6th or 8th or 12th house or

house lords then that house promise is going to be afflicted in one

way or the other. This is what Parashara says.

Moon is in the 6th house. This house is the 12th from 7th. Jupiter

is the 6th lord who is in 10th. Jupiter is placed in the

constellation of Venus who is in 12th.

He changed his job second time during Ra/Me/Ve.

Rahu is in 2nd house from Moon. Saturn whose dispositor is in placed

in 10th house. This saturn is aspecting the 7th house where Venus is

placed and venus is the 6th lord from Moon. Mercury is the 10th lord

who is in 8th with Ketu.

Dear Swamy,

I am winding off now for today, hence will reply to

your mail on Monday. However, would like to inform you

that i use a software to generate charts and in this

case i found Ketu in 2nd house in Leo. The dasa

calculation also seems to be very different from what

you found.

I will relook at it once again tomorrow.

Normally i use Ayanamsha of N.C.Lahiri.

Best regards,

Sumit

Dear Swamy,

Considering True position of Rahu-Ketu, Ketu comes in

the ascendant. However, considering the first job in

Sun-Ketu period (you differed me on that) the

connection of Ketu is very evident. Ketu's dispositor

Moon is in the 6th house signifying "daily job", which

is aspected by both Sun and Jupiter.

I wouldn't be able to comment on the rest of your

query as the dasa calculation at my side is not

matching with yours (seriously want to know why!!!!).

I would then touch upon your following point-

>Any house lord having any connection with 6th or 8th

> or 12th house or

> house lords then that house promise is going to be

> afflicted in one

> way or the other. This is what Parashara says.

As far as my humble understanding goes, a planet

manifests it's natural significance, significance of

the house/s it owns, aspects and posited in during

it's dasa/subdasa. Whether the manifestation of the

event will be overall benefic or malefic depends on

it's functional nature. Please note that Mr.Amitabh

Bachchan has four planets in the 8th house including

the lord of 7th,8th,9th & 10th houses.

Best regards,

Sumit
