Dear All,

 

A very quick word here before I put the computer to bed. Due to the

serious health problems of the 84 yr old Pontiff, I thought I'd

quickly have a look at his (possible) chart....members may like to

take a shot at rectifying his T.O.B. based on the following short

biography:

I favoured Virgo lagna for some obvious reasons:

 

1) Lagnesh Mercury and 9th lord Venus conjunct Ketu in 8th with 8th

lord in lagna speaks of the life of a religious.

 

2) Elder brother a doctor...Jupiter's dispositor exalted in 9th,

conjunct Sun (medicine) and aspected by 6th lord Sani (6th governing

medical profession).

 

All I have time for now...will have another look tomorrow with a

fresh mind (hopefully).

Well, I think 12:20 PM was a very good hunch.

 

Using the 1 PM time, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's

Disease in Jan. 01, when he was running the

Vimshottari Mercury/Rahu cycle. You will see he has

Mercury conjoined Ketu in the 9th/Aries in Parivatana

Yoga with Mars in the 2nd/Virgo, and Mars is aspecting

the Mercury/Ketu, all of which heats up.irritates the

nervous system, and I believe Rahu's aspect from the

3rd house to Mercury is the main indicator of

neurological disease. Saturn is aspecting Rahu,

further indicating this.

 

Many may not know that Karol Joseph was an actor,

poet, and beautiful singer before the Nazis invaded

his homeland, and his artistic gifts are indicated by

many things like his Venus in Libra the 3rd, and Mars

is a karaka for the 3rd house (the arts) in the 2nd.

The exchange with Mars and Mercury gives him very

sweet but passionate speech. He speaks eight languages

as a result of this combination between Mars in the

2nd and Mercury in the 9th.

 

In the past when I considered the progress of his

neurological disease, I felt he would pass on at the

end of his Mercury Mahadasa sometime in

Mercury/Saturn, because both planets are Marakas, and

Mercury is very weak, afflicted and malefic in his

chart.

 

Currently he is running the Bhukti of Jupiter who is

transiting his 2nd Maraka house, and aspecting the

transiting chart lord (Sun) along with Mercury and

Rahu in the 8th, and the solar eclipse stellium on

April 8 in Pisces/Revati in trine to his natal exalted

Jupiter in the 12th house of liberation, which may

well bring to an end the life of this beloved Holy

Father who has done so much to bring peace and

understanding to the world. I have heard that Jupiter

is almost always involved in events that lead to the

end of life, because Jupiter is a great liberator and

death is a great liberation. Transiting Saturn is

conjoined his 12th house Sripati cusp conjunct his

natal Jupiter and Neptune.

Hi Juliana and Mrs Wendy,

I was checking the Pope's chart too (birth time 1pm)

and indeed his dashas seem to be very bad at the

moment.

I believe Juliana's view very likely will correspond

to the what will happen. And if Jupiter is the one who

in the end takes him away from us, then he will have a

holy death.

Yes, and this is in keeping with the natal indication

of having an exalted Jupiter in the 12th, which will

"take him to heaven" upon his death...

Using the time of 13.00 with Lahiri ayanamsha I find he was running ME/MA dasa

through to Feb 28 (2001) when Rahu bhukti commenced...can you confirm your

ayanamsha value is Lahiri or some other? It would be good also to have a more

precise date in order to ascertain the PD.

Indeed, the exchange (parivartaana yoga) between 2nd lord Mercury (significator

of speech) and 9th lord Mars is highly significant in regards to his linguistic

skills...2nd also governs poets, immagination and so forth. And, as you say,

Rahu in 3rd disposited by Venus is an indication of artistic talent. Note

ME/KE/VE all occupy nakshatra of Venus.

Both Mercury and Ketu are indicators for afflictions to nervous system - Mercury

nerve centres (sensorium) and Ketu nervous system. And, if the dasa at time of

diagnosis was in fact ME/MA, it is relevant that Mars, dispositor of ME/KE,

occupies 6th from their position...6th being house of disease.

Yes, the transits as they relate to his current dasa (ME/JU/SU) do point to his

imminent death, I'm afraid. Transiting dasa lord Mercury, debilitated in 8th, is

conjunct PD (lagnesh) lord Sun, 3rd lord Venus and Rahu, whilst bhukti lord

Jupiter, in constellation of 12th lord Moon, and conjunct Ketu, is aspected by

2nd and 3rd lords from the 8th.

Dear Dhira,

 

Yes, it is very much feared that Pop John Paul-II may

leave us soon. The Rahu is approaching Surya deva in

the moksha rashi of Pisces. As a result the solar

eclipse would happen on 8/9 April 2005. The Yamakarak

Shani cast full (graha & rashi) drishti to this

eclipse. Note that Pisces (Meena) is considered

Brahaman rashi. So this is inauspicious planetary move

for preachers, mentors, monks, spiritual and religious

leaders.

anywhere from 1999-2001. However, it was first

publicly announced in Jan. 2001, when as you say,

Merc/Mars was still running. In my Kala and Goravani

programs using Lahiri Ayanamsha, I have Rahu Bhukti

beginning in March 2001. As you know, Parkinson's is a

progressive disease, and the Pope began to deteriorate

in Rahu's subcycle, but as you say, Mars brought the

karmas to the forefront first.

 

According to Dr. David Frawley, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu,

and Mercury can all be involved in diseases of the

nervous system. Dr. Frawley also says that the

constellation of Virgo is prone to mysterious diseases

of the nervous system like Parkinson's and MS, and the

Pope has Mars posited there, which can create disease

through its Pitta nature inflaming the nervous system,

and as you have pointed out, "Mars, dispositor of

You're correct that Saturn also is an indicator of nervous disorders

and Rahu, although not a significator for nerves per se (to the best

of my knowledge), can give rise to neurological disorders such as

epilepsy, schizophrenia, alzheimer's and so forth...

 

Parkinson's, as you say, is a progressive disease with no cure (to

date) and little effective treatment. One would therefore expect the

indications for neurological disorders to be strong...and indeed

this is the case. 6th lord Saturn (in lagna) occupies nakshatra of

Ketu whilst Mercury (and Rahu's dispositor Venus), inimicably placed

in sign of Mars, are conjunct Ketu. I think we also have to consider

Ketu's dilemma too...hemmed-in by two functional malefics??

 

Of course my reasoning (regarding this conjunction) may not be all

too clear this late at night...others might like to take a stab at

it tomorrow whilst I enjoy a day away from the computer :-)

Thanks for all your information and thoughts Juliana on this beloved Holy

Father's chart, and your reasons for the time 13:00.

 

Also it's very facinating for me to read your reflections below on Sripati cusp

and TSaturn conjoining this. As well MB degree for Saturn in Leo is 12 degrees.

Because Saturn moves so slowly, this slow movement is something to consider, and

in his chart is at 12:10, nearly 12:11 and again Saturn's slow movement, but

with the Leo Lagna, this puts this Saturn then right on his 1H, also giving

Marana Sthana along with this.

 

Another interesting note regarding your comments on the coming solar eclipse on

April 8th, is the solar eclipse on the day of his birth. It is listed as the

largest partial solar eclipse, and happened in Krittika, in Taurus. Degree for

this eclipse was Lahiri 4.14, and Moon's deepest exaltation point being 3

degrees... So on his birth this exalted Moon perfectly conjoined with this

eclipsed Sun, at his birth this very new Moon. What would this mean for his Leo

Lagna? Differing things considered from physical or spiritual aspects.. And

considering this Moon, how he has been considered such a Pope for the people of

the whole world. What are your thoughts?

 

Another intriguing thing regarding his birth and Ketu for this solar eclipse on

his birth, is the degree of 22 degrees Aries, where Ketu was, and this degree

listed in The Stars and Your Future:

Ruler Mars: Degree of Faith

Symbol: A pilgrim crossing himself in front of an ancient temple, an overdressed

official and a soldier mocking him.

"Denotes a devout person who will be subjected to many trials and taunts in

life, but who will, by the strength of his faith, overcome them all. He comes

from the masses rather than from the classes, and his sympathy will ever be with

the struggling people of the nations. From officialdom and materialism he

receives scant courtesy."

 

However, this book does state to take the following degree when there are

minutes into a degree. But I still find this very intriguing given this solar

eclipse and Ketu's degree. And of course this final sentence above does not

apply, but it's interesting that this is the "Degree of Faith" in the entire

book, 360 degrees, along with nearly all of what is said above.

 

And now as I'm writing this, he has passed...

Dear Patrice, Mrs. Wendy, and other respected members,

 

Thank you for your thoughts about Pope John Paul II. I

especially like what you have shared regarding his

Ketu and the Degree of Faith symbol.

How perfect is that!

 

I have a question re: the solar eclipse you mentioned

that occurred on his birthday at ~4 degrees Taurus

conjoined his natal Sun: How many hours past an

eclipse will it have an effect on the native? In other

words, the eclipse occurred at 6:23 AM UT, and he was

born some 6 hours past it...was it still having a

powerful effect or was it past effectiveness?

 

Re: his Moon, one thing that I find fascinating is

that his Natal Moon and Sun are very close to the

Natal Moon placement of the great Hindu saint Ammachi,

in Krittika. As you know, Krittika is ruled by Agni,

the God of Fire. It has the power to burn and purify

karma (dahana shakti), and the Moon is not only near

exact exaltation in Krittika, but is also the lord of

his 12th house of renunciation in the 10th

karmasthana.

 

As I understand it, for much of his life, Pope John

Paul practiced the teachings of two very special

Christian mystics, St. Louis Marie de Montfort and St.

John of the Cross. The latter, as you may recall, was

a Spanish mystic who was affiliated with St. Theresa

of Avila. He wrote the book titled _The Dark Night of

the Soul_, which teaches among other things that

through suffering, we will more readily find our way

to God. The Pope was introduced to these teachings by

his "guru," an "underground" bishop of the Catholic

Church in Poland during the Nazi occupation. It was an

appropriate path for him as a young man, when he had

lost everything dear to him so early in life. After

two accidental brushes with death himself, he decided

to listen to his calling to become a priest.

 

But back to Krittika, perhaps the Pope, like Ammachi

and other great saints, and like his own highest

spiritual preceptor Christ Jesus, was here to burn

karma for his millions of followers. On his deathbed,

I understand that he refused to take pain medication,

and I wonder if this was because he wanted to allow

his physical experience to purify not only his karma

but the karma of his "true believers."
