What is the underlying purpose of Saturn's lessons? How can a more

thorough understanding of Saturn's role help empower us? Can such

understanding help us harness the enormous forces of this powerful

planet in our daily lives? How can we use the resources of Saturn's

inestimable energy to our great benefit?

>>>>>>

We pay particular attention to Saturn because it remains in one sign

for about 30 months, making Saturn's movement the slowest of all

recognized planets.

>>>>>

saturn influences like sade-sati, ashtam-shani, panoti and dhaiyaa

saturn influence is more when its transit

sade-sati: enters the 12th sign from the lunar sign in a chart until

it leaves the 2nd sign from the natal moon. (7.5 years)

ashtama shani: when in 8th house from natal moon(3 years)

lagna: when enters natal lagna

Generally Sade-Sati comes thrice in a horoscope in the life time -

first in childhood, second in youth & third in old-age. First Sade-

Sati has effect on education & parents. Second Sade-Sati has effect

on profession, finance & family. The last one affects health more

than anything else.

>>>>

Saturn is frequently called the Planet of Destiny. No other planet is

so deeply associated with prarabdha karma ( the operative part of pre-

destiny). It is thought to be the most judicious, unrelenting and

impartial dispenser of the consequences of our past actions.

>>>>>

Saturn is also called the Planet of Truth. It is concerned with

fairness, justice, righteousness, right attitude and right conduct.

It creates sorrow, suffering, deep discontentment and enmity with a

view to teach the person the real truth of life. To some extent, the

more a person suffers, the more he learns.

>>>>>>>

Saturn is a slow moving planet and promotes stability. Although it

will initiate things, it brings results very slowly. It gives gradual

progress and equally gradual degeneration when it makes people suffer

slowly.

>>>>>.

Saturn is concerned with duty and responsibility, it brings the

profession to the forefront. Saturn wants the person to respect his

duty and obligations in whatever field of activity the person is

engaged. Saturn's transits reveal the timing of career changes and

when recognition for a person's achievements will come.

>>>>>>

The harder that ones grip is on materialistic pursuits and the

stronger that ones desires are, the firmer is the grip of Saturn on

such a soul. Working towards experiencing a greater sense of being

united with and being part of the creation is good

>>>>>>>

Saturn acts as benefic when in

a kendra/trikona

his own sign/ Libra

not be combust

Natural benefics aspecting him

in the middle part of the sign he occupies.

>>>>>>>>

Saturn in the 1st house gives good characteristics, health, wealth

and leadership, fame.(here it is in own sign/exalted/the dispositor

should be a kingly planet like sun etc!!!)

All scientists, inventors, discoverers, explorers, martyrs,

philosophers, religious leaders and social reformers, achieved their

goals by the grace of this planet. Without the help of Saturn, one

cannot become a thinker of a high order.

By the highly beneficial influence of Saturn, a pauper can become a

president; and a president can turn into a pauper due to the evil

effects of Saturn. It was the influence of Saturn which ultimately

brought Napoleon as well. Just as Saturn empowers, it also has the

power to disrupt the mightiest just when the going is good. We can

study Saturn's influence in any of the great world leaders to gain

insight as to why the native was beloved leader of the people, a

dictator, a tyrant or a saint.

Dear Uday,

Many thanks for your piece on Saturn. Although it seemed to get

overlooked (hidden behind other discussions) I'm sure others, like

myself, appreciated it very much :-)

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy
