Hello everyone,

I am new to the group, so this is my first

post/response.

Rajesh, dasa periods are calculated by your birth

star; or moon nakshatra. You look at the nakshatra of

the moon. What is the ruler of that nakshatra? That is

your first mahadasa at birth.

However, you don't always start at the beginning of

that mahadasa. Most often, you are born right in the

middle or towards the end. To calculate the duration

of this first period, find out how many minutes the

moon has to travel before it leaves that nakshatra.

Divide that number by 800 (amount of minutes per

nakshatra). Multiply the answer (probably a fraction)

by the number of years in your given mahadasha. There

you have it! That is it!~

Hope this helps!

Peace,

Tom Garland

To further Add:

Mahadasaa are always in a fixed cycle i.e After Moon

Its Mars and after Mars its Rahu and after Rahu its

Jupiter...

Saturn..

Mercury..

Ketu..

Venus..

Sun..

and the again MOON

however general life expetancy may not allow to see

all the Dasas or complete the cycle for a

individual..and everyone starts at a different point

of time.
