Guest guest
Hi Sally Chakrapani is a classical vedic astrologer, and he told my friend Jupiter in her first, Cancer would bring her ecstacy. Well it rules the sixth, so it protects finances, and litigation until it hits the mep. These have been her experience, also the Moon is weak in her chart and it disposits Jupiter so she has had many emotional ups and downs instead. The professor only gives 2 % to the natural significations, such as happiness to a planet, the rest is it's functional nature. I found it through a Vedic text book I'm reading. He was recomended by the author. http://www.Vedic Astrology.com/. Chakrapani Ullal offers a newsletter free of charge.. and has most interesting past isssue newsletters in the archives one can read. He is from Kerala, South India born into a family of astrologers. He moved to this country 18 years ago, I read in his bio. I've found his material really fascinating. The more I read, the more I realize there is to know. I was feeling a bit discouraged a few posts ago when I realized how many many variations of reading Vedic charts there are and how confusing it was becoming. But as you point out Sally, System's Approach is simple and effective. That sounds like the one for me. I was beginning to feel I'd never learn Vedic and I don't have generations left to learn since I'm 67. I've been a western astrologer for 36 years.. and it took many years to get where I'm at.. I thought I could pick up Vedic more quickly because of my western background. What a surprise. Perhaps, Saturn in my Vedic 9th house in Aquarius receiving the trine from Jupiter in my 5th and the opposition from Venus in the 3rd house will help me catch on more quickly as I seek out material on the System's Approach. One professional reading I had pointed out that with Ketu on my lagna receiving a trine from Jupiter, along with Saturn in 9th well aspected, indicated that I'd been involved many lifetimes with spiritual study. Hopefully, that will shorten the time it takes to be able to give a most simple VEdic reading to my clients. I'd very much like to give them both a western reading as well as Vedic. I think the two together would be invaluable. Thanks so much for being there Sally. You share so much good information. We're lucky to have you on this list. Though I've had two professional readings by Vedic astrologers in this country, I've wanted to have one reading with an astrologer from India and this is the one I will have one with. Alas, the appointment is a month or more away as he's just left for India for 3 weeks for the International Vedic Conferance. When he returns, I expect he'll share some of the material that was brought up there, in his monthly newsletter.Namaste,Sally ( from the San Juan Islands) Shailesh, Welcome. Good luck with your studies. Feel free to ask for suggestions. There is a mixed group here, each with his or her own take on Vedic Astrology. I don't know the moderator, or list owner, so I don't know if there is a particular style practiced on this list. So far everyone contributes their own style. I practice the System's Approach, by VK Choudhry. It is a simple and effective method of chart reading. It is a modern version of vedic astrology, and for me it has been a god send, amidst the morass of knowledge out there and not a simple way to decipher it all. It is systematic in its approach and that's why I like it. There are other systems like the study of nakshatras, bindus, and other classical approaches, it's good to know some of everything and find out what works for you. Guest guest
Hello Sally and Sally and all list members, I'd like to relate the results of my reading by Chakrapani. About 25 years ago, I taped it and later transcribed the natal reading that I still listen to and read periodically. Earlier, I could have challenged his simple statements. Now I've found it is taking years of transits to natal aspects to watch their truth be revealed. I know you didn't mean to uplift one distinguished astrologer at the expense of another distinguished astrologer. I want to point out that a reading is based on a mysterious science and depends heavily on the ears and understanding of the receiver. My apologies for any pain that could be caused by these comments. Peace. We are truly One Consciousness. Guest guest
Well, is from India. The MEP is the most effective point, a term coined by the Professor, it stands for the ascendant degree in each house, as it turns out, the ascendant degree is a very sensitive point in all of the houses, not just the first. Aloha, SallyThanks for suggesting some web-sites, i will check them surely.RANCHI is a capital of newly formed state Jharkhand in INDIA, i am here from last one year and before it i was at Mangalore & Hyderabad where I picked up the interest in Astrology.I am having few books of Mr B.V Raman as basics.Shailesh Vedic Astrology, "Sally" <sara@l...> wrote:> Hello, Where is Ranchi? Guest guest
I'm glad you got something out of it, so did my friend, he told her she had lots of water in her chart, which was true. Each approach has something different to offer. I only find the classical approach can lead to confusion, especially while learning. The reading you got, did take years to show up. I guess it's more the underlying truths in the classical, whereas the systems approach is practical in my view. It focuses on the things that usually will bring a client to an astrologer, the main points not just the subtle ones. I hope this helps some. Sally Hello Sally and Sally and all list members,I'd like to relate the results of my reading by Chakrapani. Peace. We are truly One Consciousness.JaneVedic Astrology, Sally Harrington <firemoon@w...> wrote:> on 11/19/02 12:02 AM, Sally at sara@l... wrote:> > > Hi Sally,> > That's interesting and good to know.
