Guest guest
Here are a few sites to help you get started. They all use the System's Approach analysis. As this is an open forum on Vedic Astrology, there are many approaches discussed on this list. This is just one, and for my money a most effective way to learn. Aloha, Sally www.yournetastrologer.com www.jupitersweb.com www.astroview.com www.satvatkc.com This last one especially has some great cross reference tools that can be downloaded, in the notebook section I believe, it's new, called Astromenu. www.yournetastrologer.com www.jupitersweb.com www.astroview.com Hello, Where is Ranchi? Guest guest
Shailesh, Welcome. Good luck with your studies. Feel free to ask for suggestions. There is a mixed group here, each with his or her own take on Vedic Astrology. I don't know the moderator, or list owner, so I don't know if there is a particular style practiced on this list. So far everyone contributes their own style. I practice the System's Approach, by VK Choudhry. It is a simple and effective method of chart reading. It is a modern version of vedic astrology, and for me it has been a god send, amidst the morass of knowledge out there and not a simple way to decipher it all. It is systematic in its approach and that's why I like it. There are other systems like the study of nakshatras, bindus, and other classical approaches, it's good to know some of everything and find out what works for you. Guest guest
Sally Thanks a lot. After your recent mail i feel myself a joy for being in the company of generous teachers & scholars. I have a very basic understanding about horoscope reading but more than often, I could not reach to conclusions regarding results of a particular house as every house indicates more than one aspect and very often there are positive and negative sides due to aspects of planets and functionality etc... I wish to try out the system's approach but probably at first a book can be more helpful than web, if u can suggest any from Mr Chaudhuri. Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Dear Shailesh, Welcome! There are many variations and systems vedic astrology. The best place to start is to understand the principles of Jyotisha as told by Sage Parashara. This will give you a good foot hold. The variations of parashara be it systems approach or KP can come later. Get a copy of Brihat Parashara Hora Sastra translated by G.C Sharma. That would be a good start. Hindu Pridictive Astrology by the Late Dr. Raman is an excelent book too. Hope this helps Regds Hari - SHAILESH SAXENA Vedic Astrology Wednesday, November 20, 2002 4:57 PM [Vedic Astrology] Re: My introduction SallyThanks a lot. After your recent mail i feel myself a joy for being in the company of generous teachers & scholars.I have a very basic understanding about horoscope reading but more than often, I could not reach to conclusions regarding results of a particular house as every house indicates more than one aspect and very often there are positive and negative sides due to aspects of planets and functionality etc...I wish to try out the system's approach but probably at first a book can be more helpful than web, if u can suggest any from Mr Chaudhuri.Regards,ShaileshVedic Astrology, "Sally" <sara@l...> wrote:> > Shailesh, Welcome.
