Guest guest
Dear Sally.H, Namaste. Got involved in some important work and so the delayed reply. My replies are after this sign => Of course.. for an infant astrologer such as yourself. I would like to meet a long time Vedic student if you... with so much knowledge, are an infant student. I think you are pulling my leg. Meaning I think you are a very learned student. => I am sure someday you will interact with learned people like Prof. Shri Sanjay Rath and other senior practicing professional Vedic- Astrologers. Then you will realise where i stand. On the Other Hand, i take your words as encouragement and i sincerely hope someday i can be what you perceive i am ( in the field of astrology ). That would be so kind of you to answer. I would love to know what dasa I am in.. since that refers, to the long and shorter cycles one goes through according to Vedic astrology, I believe. I would hope I"m not in a 30 year Saturn dasa or some such. I don't have that many years to live and would like to have passed into a more favorable dasa. I understand there are long cycles and shorter cycles for where one is in Vedic. Do you not use progressed planets in Vedic? => Did you read my earlier mail. I have mentioned in that mail that you are going through Mercury Mahadasha and Jupiter Antardasha. If not then kindly go through message no. 713 on the list where i have replied back to your mail of 2nd July 2002. Also the longest Dasha is of 20 years which is of Venus and saturn has 19 years to his cycle. No, you are not in Saturn Mahadasha. We do take progression of Planets when taking into consideration certain aspects but i have not learnt that concept and am unaware how to use it ? If i am not mistaken progression of planets are also taken to determine the time of marraige. I am interested in several particulars if you would be so kind as to shed some light on the matters. => Definately. But before i start i will like to tell you that i am a student and not a professional and am still learning. Hence, i am prone to mistakes. So, kindly do not keep great expectations from me. Still i am giving my best attempt. Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudevai Namah ================================== 1. I have applied for a home loan at a bank, this past week. I wonder if that will go through? => First lets see if you will get it and then when. Will U get the loan =================== 6 th lord rules debts. 6 th lord Mars who is also the lord of 11 th is in 5 th house in Libra and has Moon the 2nd lord and Jupiter the 7 th and 10 th lord with itself. In navamsa Mars is exalted in the 9 th and is the lord of 12 th and 7 th. 12 th house is the house of losses and expenditure. A person will spend money if and only if the money comes in. Hence, i will take into account 12 th house also for this consideration. 8 th house rules money coming in suddenly and with bank loan money comes in suddenly and hence let me consider 8 th also. In rashi chart, Mars the lord of 6 th joins Jupiter and its dispositor venus sits in the 3rd house being aspected by Saturn who is the 8 th lord. Mars also aspect the 11 th and is aspected by Jupiter also which is 6 th house lord from moon also. Moon the lord of 2nd from basic and 10 th from Moon-chart is also aspecting the 11 th house of the natal chart. It is further aspected by Rahu from the 7 th and saturn the 8 th lord from 9 th. Venus the 12 th lord aspects Saturn the 8 th and 9 th lord and holds Jupiter and Mars both in its sign of Libra. 12 th house has got Jupiter in Navamsa and it is aspected by Mars the 6 th lord of Rasi kundali. Jupiter is the lord of 11 th also in Navamsa. Jupiter also happens to be aspected by Mars the lord of 12 th in navamsa. And Jupiter is lord of 8 th also in navamsa. In the 8 th house there is a clubbing of Venus-the 6 th lord of navamsa, Sun- the 4 th house of navamsa and rahu which again aspects with its 5 th aspect to Jupiter. Taking all these above observations Jupiter gets all the reasons for getting a loan. The current Mahadasha(MD) is Mercury and Antardasha (AD) is Jupiter. Hence, before the Jupiter AD goes it will surely give loan. Now, comes the question when? ============================= >From the above it is clear that in Jupiter Antardasha(AD) you will get the loan. Now, lets go to Pratyandardasha(PD) to see when. >From Lagna 6 th house lord mars. From Moon is Jupiter and from the mahadasha(MD) mercury it is again Jupiter. The current pd is Sun. Sun is in second from the lagna and is the 3rd lord. It's is in 8 th owning the 4 th house in navamsa. He happens to own 11 th lord from the moon and is a badhakesh from moon. He is also associated with Venus- his enemy, and Rahu-again his enemy in the 8 th in navamsa. But having the 9 th aspect of jupiter in navamsa which is his sign lord and from the MD lord he is in lagna owning the 2nd house he will keep the going with some obstacles as he is badhakesh. Next in the offing is Moon. Moon is associated with 6 th lord mars and is in venus sign of Libra whose dispositor Venus who is the 12 th lord and is aspected by Saturn the 8th lord. Moon happens to be again in 4 th house from the MD lord and owns the 10 th house from the moon. He happens to be in mars sign of scorpio in the navamsa and receives asepct from the 9 th and 10 th lord yogakaraka Saturn who happens to be 8 th lord in basic chart. Being associated with Mercury who is 2nd lord in navamsa and 4 th house in basic chart and no malefic aspect he will enhance the features of that house and hence, moon will speed up the whole process. Next comes is Mars. He is the 6 th lord and its dispositor venus is aspected by saturn who is 8 th and 9 th lord. Joined is Jupiter who is in 12 th in navamsa. Its dispositor venus is in 8 th with sun who is 4 th lord - though enemy but due to holding 6 th lord mars in his sign, venus will give effects of his to mars. Sun though a badhak from the moon will act as a stimulator as venus is in 11 th from Moon and is in Leo his sign. Venus is 6 th lord in navamsa and is being aspected from Jupiter the 11 th & 8 th lord of navamsa. From the MD lord Venus is in 2nd and gets aspect from saturn who is in 8 th. >From moon & MD Jupiter happens to be 6 th lord and he is aspecting venus in 8 th in navamsa. Mars happens to be situated in 4 th from MD. Mars aspects from moon the 4 th house and also 8th. From MD mars also aspects 11 th house. Hence, Mars is in a perfectly eligible state and its dispositor Venus is again absolutely appropriate to give results. Now, let's go to transit to see if it supports and when. Looking into transits ====================== In transit Venus the 6 th lord of Navamsa in 8 th aspected by Jupiter who is the 6 th lord from Moon and MD will enter in Libra on 2nd September. Hence, this will make the matters moving and at that time the PD will be of Moon which i have concluded will speed up the process. Venus will become retrogate on 12 th October and will remain in Libra for long after getting direct and crossing the sign. Now, sun who is the 11 th lord from the moon will enter Scorpio sign which is 6 th from Lagna on 17 November. He will further go on to enter Saggitarius which is 6 th sign from MD. Jupiter the 6 th lord from Moon and also from MD will be transitting in 2nd from the natal chart and 10 th from moon aspecting 2nd house, 4 th house and its sign of Pisces which is in 6 th house. Jupiter is the significator of growth and expansion and his aspect on 2nd & 6 th will bring growth in wealth being the lord of 11 th in navamsa which signifies you getting loan. Most Important, Mars the 6 th lord will enter its natal-sign in the chart i.e. of Libra on 23 rd November. This will be most supportive of getting the loan ( due to the reasons explained above for mars being so important for getting loan ). Hence, i see that Venus entering into Libra which is his own sign and holds in his sign 6th lord mars, from MD Venus is lord of 4th house also supports; Mars entering into Libra again helpful ; Jupiter already there transiting in Cancer and sun the 11 th lord from moon and lord of 4 th house from Navamsa and situated in 8th transiting in 6 th from Lagna ---- all confirm / support the sanctioning of Loan. To Sum Up ---------- Moon PD will speed up the process i.e. between aug 2002 to october 2002. Due to association of Saturn as the 8 th lord i will be of the opinion that you use your own "Contacts" i.e. your influences / take help from people in higher position / authorities to get your loan sanctioned. Hence, i conclude Mer/Jup/Mars dasa will see your loan getting sanctioned that is between 28 th October 2002 to 16 th December 2002. After Mars enters Libra the probabilites are stronger i.e. after 23 rd November. 2. This is most important. I wonder if my horoscope shows I might meet another man of interest for marriage in this year or the next? I have been married twice and am a widow since my 2nd husband passed on July 23, 95. I would enjoy traveling again as my husband and I did together and would enjoy companionship as well in my retirment years. I would also enjoy some help financially. Two can live under one roof more cheaply than two can live under two roofs. => Up-Pada Lagna(UL) is taken to determine the married life of the person. 8 th from UL will be looked for second marraige and i will look for 8 th from 8 th to see if the 3rd marraige is there or not. UL in natal chart is in Leo. 8 th from Leo is Pisces. 8 th from Pisces is Libra. So, i take UL in Libra. The current Narayan Dasa(ND) you are running is Taurus starting from 5 th August 2002. You lost your husband on 23 July 1995. At that time the Narayan Dasa you were running was Cap-Aqu which was running between April 1995 to March 1996. From Pisces if we see its lord Jupiter is in 8 th from itself and is aspected(Rasi-Drishti) by Venus the 8 th lord. Venus is in 8 th from Capricon whose ND was running and aspected Jupiter the UL. Jupiter is also aspected by Saturn who is in 12 th from Pisces. Jupiter also happens to be 12 th in navamsa. It was aspected by Saturn who was is in Aquarius and was in 2nd(Marak Sthan) from Dasa rasi lord Capricon. All this contributed to your husbands loss in Cap-Aqu. But that was past and now, lets see if there are any possibilites for another marraige. Marraige can take place in the dasa sign of Venus or Ketu. Also, Dasa of the signs connected with Venus and ketu gives the timing of marraige. First let's see if marraige is there or not =========================================== UL lord Venus is in 11 th from UL. UL has Jupiter the natal 7 th and 10 th lord, Moon the natal 2nd lord and mars who is natal 11 th and 6 th lord. From Libra which is UL Scorpio happens to be the 7 th sign. when a person marries, its a new addition into the family(2nd), a new member at home(4th), new source of earning comes in (10th - in case of females), and in Indian Tradition, a husband is called the best friend(11th) for a girl. 7 th house as it is signifies husband. Considering all the above points it is clear that Taurus Dasa whose Lord is Venus - the natural significator( or Kalatrakaraka) of marraige and the above significations of Planets in UL being in Libra does give indication of marraige. Now when ======== You are running Taurus Narayan Dasa. For Taurus Paka rasi will be Leo where Venus is situated. 7 th from it is Saturn which gives rasi drishti on Libra. Libra also has Mars which is the 7 th lord from Dasa rasi Taurus. Libra also has rasi drishti of Saturn who is 7 th from Paka-rasi Venus. Bhoga rasi is Scorpio and receives rasi- drishti from Mercury(dispositor of Ketu) and Sun(Dispositor of Venus) giving confirmation of marraige. Libra will have the full capability for giving result as he receives rasi-drishti from Venus as well as Saturn who is 7 th from it i.e. Venus. He also holds Mars who is the lord of Scorpio. Libra receives argala from Leo and Gemini which contains Venus and Ketu in their respectives signs hence satisfying the condition for marraige. Looking into transits ====================== I would look up to Saturn for this. Saturn, contrary to the general belief as the notorious and infamous malefic, is the most graceful and benevolent planet, who binds men and women in nuptial ties and teaches them to live together subject to norms, values and customs of society. He times the marriage of individuals as the lord of time. Now, When transit Saturn aspects natal Saturn with his 10th house aspect marraiges prospects are strong. So, i will make use of this as it holds great significance in your case. Natal Saturn is in Aquarius. Saturn on 23rd of July 2002 will enter Gemini but it will become retrogate and will enter Taurus again in January 2003 and will be there till April 2003. Saturn in transit will aspect natal Saturn in Aquarius and thus gives the indication of marraige. Also, Jupiter will be crossing over natal 2nd house and will give increase or growth in a family member. From moon if i see it will aspect with 5 th aspect the 2nd house, and with 7 th aspect the 4 th house again giving addition there. As a matter of fact UL happens to be Libra where moon is placed. Mars the 7 th lord from moon and from UL-Libra in transit will enter Scorpio the 2nd house and from dasa rasi taurus it will enter in the 7 th house in its own sign of Scorpio. But not to forget Venus. Venus will enter into Scorpio - 2nd house from natal chart and 7 th house in Navamsa. Then Sagittarius the natal 7 th house of the chart. All these confirm that Marraige ========= will take place in Taurus-Libra Narayan Dasa i.e. between February 2003 to May 2003. 3. I wonder if and when I will be able to pay the mortgage on my house off to the bank or how long I may continue to live here. We had the house built in 91. Since my husband passed, my income was cut in half so it's not been so easy to make ends meet. I do rent a room or two when I have a chance. I have a roomer here now for 3 1/2 years. The other roomer lost his job so had to move to Calif. to work. => 8 th house is Capricon with its lord Saturn in its Mooltrikona sign of Aqaurius and retrogate. Capricon gets rasi-drishti by Venus - the 12 th and 5 th lord and graha-drishti by Mercury - lagna & 4 th lord and Sun - 3rd lord. Saturn is properly poised in 10 th in aquarius receiving rasi-aspect from Jupiter the 8 th and 11 th lord being placed in 12 th in Navamsa. 8 th lord in navamsa is Jupiter aspecting saggitarius with 9 th aspect. 8 th house has Sun the 4 th lord and Venus the lagna and 6 th lord. Mercury the 4 th lord of the natal chart is in Cancer whose lord moon is in Libra. Libra lord Venus is in Leo whose lord Sun joins Mercury in the 2nd house. Hence, these three houses are linked with each other. >From Moon the 4 th lord is Saturn in 5 th. It is aspected by Venus who is 8 th and lagna lord. Saturn here happens to be Yogakaraka and aspects 2nd house also with its 10 th aspect. >From Mahadasha(MD) Mercury 7 th and 8 th lord is Saturn in 8 th. He aspects 4 th & 11 th lord Venus in the 2nd. 4 th house also receives rasi-drishti from Saturn. Saturn also aspects with rasi-drishti the lagna where mercury is placed. Therefore, Saturn becomes the strongest contender to give results from the mahadasha lord Mercury. In D-4 lagna lord Jupiter and 4 th lord Mercury receives aspect from Saturn i.e. rasi-drishti. Venus the 4 th & 8 th lord from Mahadasha Mercury also receives 10 th aspect from Saturn. Saturn in situated in the 6 th and aspects moon in the 8 th with its 3 rd aspect. Hence, in D-4 Saturn again becomes the most suitable candidate for paying off the mortgage. The current MD/AD you are running is Mercury / Jupiter. Next in the offing is Mercury / Saturn. So, i conclude that Mercury Mahadasha and Saturn Antardasha will see you paying off your mortgage on your house which spans between April 2003 to December 2005 . Hence, by December 2005 you will pay off your mortgage on your house. 4. Perhaps the last if you have time.. would be will I find another roomer and when? => I am not aware of this concept of roomer ? In Hostel we call a roomer or a room-partner who stays in a the same room / with whom i share my room with in hostel. I don't understand what you mean by a roomer here. So, i will leave this question. Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudevai Namah ================================== Ah.. sorry.. now I have been specific and hope you do not go to much trouble generally before you read this post. => Well, YES it was definately very-specific. No, it was not at all a troublesome except that i had to work-hard to answer your queries ;-) May the light of God within you, show the way. => I hope your blessing comes true. Got involved in some important work and so the delayed reply. My replies are after this sign => Dear Ashwin; Namaste. Good to hear from you. Of course.. for an infant astrologer such as yourself. I'm sure you will do well in the field. You have a strong feeling for it. I can tell this. Oh yes, I did read that after I sent this letter above. Guess I'd like to know when the Mercury began and how long it lasts. Ah I see. You did ask me if there was a cycle or period/subperiod in western astrology where one planet rules for a time, then another. I think you were referring the decans. Each 30 degrees of a house/sign are divided into 3 parts.. of 10 degrees each. Libra for example.. rules 0 to 9 degrees of Libra. 10 to 19 is ruled by Venus/Aquarius.. which is the 2nd air sign. 20 to 30 Libra is ruled by Venus again.. in conjunction with the last air sign ruler Gemini.. so Mercury. What would the Jupiter cycle that I'm now in be good for? Would it be good for spirituality...I expect.. those things that Jupiter rules.. at least in the western it does. Maybe gambling or winning something.. good for learning Vedic astrology.. coupled as it is with Mercury main dasha.. I understand you to say it ends in April 03 I believe.. when I go into a Saturn subperiod. I am interested in several particulars if you would be so kind as to shed some light on the matters. => Definately. But before i start i will like to tell you that i am a student and not a professional and am still learning. Hence, i am prone to mistakes. So, kindly do not keep great expectations from me. I will not. Still i am giving my best attempt. I appreicate your best attempt. You can do no more than that. Well...you are very good.. The loan was approved. But having the 9 th aspect of jupiter in navamsa which is his sign lord and from the MD lord he is in lagna owning the 2nd house he will keep going with some obstacles as he is badhakesh. The loan came through on the 19th. Perhaps loans take longer in your country so you may have been effected by that. Here once they are approved.. the move swiftly. It was all interesting and now some are a bit familiar so I didn't feel like it was totally another language. I could follow along. Thank you so much for shedding light on the process. I had been turned down by one bank just before I asked if this loan would go through after contacting a different bank. Ahh that is good. Unless the timing is in 30 years from now.. in which case I will be in another realm of existance as I don't care to marry at age 107...that is a joke. I like the Indian tradition that husband is best friend. The happiest marriages in this country also condiser husband the best friend. Well, that's very interesting how you came up with the date. In western astrology, pr Jupiter is concunct my 7th cusp of marriage..this year and next... also Jupiter is conjunct north node and is in trine to Venus. T Jupiter will make 3 stations on my Sun which is men in western astrology. The last aspect Jupiter makes to my Sun will be next spring. I had a progressed full Moon this June. The Pr Moon was 17 Aries and pr Sun 17 Libra. The full and new progressed Moons indicate change and a new cycle beginning. However, I guess I should of asked when will I meet this prospective husband.. we must meet before we can marry. That would be wonderful Ashwin. 4. Perhaps the last if you have time.. would be will I find another roomer and when? => I am not aware of this concept of roomer ? In Hostel we call a roomer or a room-partner who stays in a the same room / with whom i share my room with in hostel. I don't understand what you mean by a roomer here. I have a home. I have 3 bedrooms in the home. One is mine..then I rent the other two bedrooms to others. One is rented the 3rd is now empty. I see how I wasn't clear here for what you understand in your country. That is ok. I appreciate all your work. That was very kind of you. So, i will leave this question. Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudevai Namah ================================== Ah.. sorry.. now I have been specific and hope you do not go to much trouble generally before you read this post. => Well, YES it was definately very-specific. No, it was not at all a troublesome except that i had to work-hard to answer your queries ;-) You've done very well. I find I can learn from your writings as well which is very helpful to me. I have now purchased 3 books on Vedic and have a reading with a professional Vedic/western astrologer who now practises Vedic only, on Aug. 1st. which I look forward to for learning/teaching opportunities as well as a full reading on my chart. I'm finding quite a few western astrologers have begun to work with Vedic also, then they switch over totally to Vedic in time. That's interesting. They must feel it's a more accurate system.. particularly for predicting . If I could be so bold as to ask you Ashwin.. when and IF you have time, could you give me a Vedic answer for a woman friend. She is born Jan 25 57 in Los Angeles Calif. 3:10 pm I will work on her western chart.. but I'm so anxious to combine vedic with western and of course I can't at this point. She has one question and that is will she reconcile with her husband. I'd like to know what dasha and buhkt she is in and how it looks for her marriage. I will complete the western chart . I'd like to see how the two work out. Only when you're able to if you are interested. This is a woman whom I gave a reading to when she was just marrying her husband nearly 21 years ago. And now it looks like there will be divorce unless there are hopeful signs in both western and vedic. May the light of God within you, show the way. => I hope your blessing comes true. He will Ashwin. He will reward you for helping others as you do on this list. Guest guest
Dear Sally.H, Namaste, Good to hear from you. => Same here. Nice to see your response so soon. I'm sure you will do well in the field. You have a strong feeling for it. I can tell this. => That Boost's my Confidence. Oh yes, I did read that after I sent this letter above. Guess I'd like to know when the Mercury began and how long it lasts. => Mercury Mahadasha began in December 1998 and will continue uptil December 2005. If you have downloaded the software "Jagannatha Hora Lite" then open your file ( i have attached in this mail - its 1 Kb ) and click on V button which means to show Vimshottari Dashas. Clicking on Vpd will show Pratyantar-dashas. You need to choose here. Choose Mercury from Dropdown and then click ok. You will see Pratyantar-dashas in Mercury Mahadasha. Mercury Mahadasha lasts 17 years. 20 to 30 Libra is ruled by Venus again.. in conjunction with the last air sign ruler Gemini.. so Mercury. => I don't know decans :-( . But, thankyou for your wonderful explanation. I was not aware of this concept. Is it used widely in Western Astrology? What would the Jupiter cycle that I'm now in be good for? Would it be good for spirituality...I expect.. those things that Jupiter rules.. at least in the western it does. Maybe gambling or winning something.. good for learning Vedic astrology.. coupled as it is with Mercury main dasha.. I understand you to say it ends in April 03 I believe.. when I go into a Saturn subperiod. => In Vedic Astrology also Jupiter represents Spirituality. Yes, it will be good for spirituality specially because jupiter is in 12 th in Navamsa. Also, From Moon Jupiter is 3rd and 6 th lord, 3 rd house is the house of initiatives, short-journeys, writings, communications etc. Hence, all these will be felt in Jupiter Antardasha(AD). Also, as he rules the 6 th house, loans will be granted and so it was. Again this is very general analysis. Gambling yes being placed in 5 th house it would have shown if it was not Jupiter. Jupiter will never take you in gambling ;-) Yes, Saturn AD( or sub-period ) starts in April 2003. I appreicate your best attempt. You can do no more than that. => Thanx again. I will put more efforts( hard-work ) now to get more clear analysis. Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudevai Namah ================================== 1. Well...you are very good.. The loan was approved. => :-) Nice to know that the loan was approved. As far as good -- well i will take it in my stride though i must admit i could not come to the PD when it will be sanctioned. The loan came through on the 19th. Perhaps loans take longer in your country so you may have been effected by that. Here once they are approved.. the move swiftly. => Yes, i got caught in the net. Here in India to get a loan sanctioned it may take months. And it was with this in mind that i proceeded. I was wrong. Good you brought this to my notice. I have learnt from mistakes in life. :-) It was all interesting and now some are a bit familiar so I didn't feel like it was totally another language. I could follow along. Thank you so much for shedding light on the process. I had been turned down by one bank just before I asked if this loan would go through after contacting a different bank. => Makes me fell nice that i could make things familiar and interesting for you. As far as the process is concerned -- this is my way of going. Probably, somebody else will go some other way and a professional in alltogether a different way. Now, when you learn Vedic-Astrology then you will also find your own way of going. 2. => I could not get you. pr means what. I am absolutely ignorant about Western Astrology. Regarding meeting your prospective husband, i would be of the opinion that he will meet you by December. But then lets see if it really happens. I have already done mistake and i hope this one does not turn out to be wrong(fingers-crossed) ;-) . 3. That would be wonderful Ashwin. => "Let it happen My God" - I would love to hear feedback from you when it happens. 4. I have a home. I have 3 bedrooms in the home. One is mine..then I rent the other two bedrooms to others. One is rented the 3rd is now empty. I see how I wasn't clear here for what you understand in your country. That is ok. I appreciate all your work. That was very kind of you. => Most Welcome. Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudevai Namah ================================== You've done very well. I may be able to help you if i have read the same book and if you are stuck up somewhere. Yes, even i have heared that many western astrologers after some time with Western turn towards Vedic-Astrology. It is more on determining events and finding a solution for it ( this is my opinion ). It is definately an accurate system. There is a branch called Krishnamoorthy System in which for ex - when electricity goes off, a good learned practictioner can tell upto minutes when electricity will come back. But don't get carried away. It may not be possible for any & every event as such. But yes, it is very accurate. If I could be so bold as to ask you Ashwin.. when and IF you have time, could you give me a Vedic answer for a woman friend. Still to learn & long way to go. Also confirm this:- Los Angeles, CA (US): 34n03, 118w15, California Time Zone: 7 h west of GMT What is the Daylight Saving - if applicable ? May the light of God within you, show the way. I hope your blessing comes true. He will Ashwin. One time only in my life, after chanting an hour in the group, I had the most incredible experience. I felt the I Am within. It was the most exciting experience I've ever had. I look forward to repeating it one day in the not too distant future. I love Yogananda's Autobiography. Well, this isn't astrology so I will stop here. 1. :-) As hopefully we all do. It was all interesting and now some are a bit familiar so I didn't feel like it was totally another language. I could follow along. Thank you so much for shedding light on the process. I had been turned down by one bank just before I asked if this loan would go through after contacting a different bank. => Makes me fell nice that i could make things familiar and interesting for you. As far as the process is concerned -- this is my way of going. Probably, somebody else will go some other way and a professional in alltogether a different way. Now, when you learn Vedic-Astrology then you will also find your own way of going. 2. => I could not get you. pr means what. Oh sorry. pr means progressed. That is the planets positions as they've moved on. I am absolutely ignorant about Western Astrology. And I nearly so of Vedic. You shall be among the first to know. On March 8th at 4pm PST in Seattle, I met a very nice man that I was drawn too. Unfortunetly, he is married so that is that. I had to look up our aspects to see why I was drawn towards him. His Venus in Scorpio is conjunct my Mars. His Moon/Mars is conjunct my Jupiter. His Sun/Mercury/Jupiter reside in my Moon sign Libra. That explains it. I work part time caring for elderly or physically handicapped people in their home. That's the day I began work with the new patient who has MS. She is crippled and can't move. Her husband cares for her and has for 10 years. She is 58 this month. He will be 69 in September. I don't know if y ou compare charts of people in Vedic. => Can you tell me which books you have purchased and are going through ? I may be able to help you if i have read the same book and if you are stuck up somewhere. I'd be happy to. The first one is AStro-Logos, Revelations of a Hindu Astrologer. 2. Ancient Hindu Astrology for the Modern Western Astrologer. 3. The Art and Practise of Ancient Hindu Astrology, Nine sessions between teacher and student, all by James Braha whose website I gave you previously. The last 2 just arrived today. That is quite amazing..and exciting. I intend to use both when I'm able to use Vedic. => Surely. That's wonderful. Thank you. Let me know what is the DST if applicable. I don't know this about diff. countries. Still to learn & long way to go. There is no DST in the winter months. It begins in April and ends in Oct. in the US. Also confirm this:- Los Angeles, CA (US): 34n03, 118w15, California Time Zone: 7 h west of GMT What is the Daylight Saving - if applicable ? Los Angeles, Ca. 8 hours west of GMT. It's 4 AM in LA when it's Noon GMT. Time of birth 3:10 pm PST May the light of God within you, show the way. I hope your blessing comes true. He will Ashwin. He will reward you for helping others as you do on this list. => Aamin [ you say this in India when someone gives you a hearty wish and you also want it to come true ] Ah I see. It's similiar to Amen. I like that. With Regards, Pranam, Ashwin Hirani (A student of Astrology) -- Blessings to you. Guest guest
Dear Sally.H, Namaste, With Mercury ruling my 3rd in western in aspect to Uranus and Jupiter.. I usually do things immediately. => Thats nice to know :-) In Vedic Lagna has ketu vargottam and lord mercury is with 3 rd lord of initiatives sun in the 2nd. Definatley replies will come immediately. I have not opened the file nor did it attach. I will look for it on the web. Thanks for trying to send it. => Never mind. I will send the file on your id. In the mean-time if you have not downloaded the software then go the url :- http://www.geocities.com/pvr108/jhoral/index.htm If Mercury dasha lasts 17 years, then I take it it began in 88? since it will end in 05 and that is 17 years. Thank you for that information. => Yes, it should be 88 and not 98. It was a typo error. I recall you saying that Saturn is not the evil one in Vedic.. or perhaps I read that in Braha's book. He or you said that Saturn is positive in Vedic. It of course in positive aspects in western, represents those things that are stable, lasting, constructive, well earned and deserved. => There is some mis-communication that i would like to bring to your notice. Yes, i did say Saturn benovelent planet but in vedic it is considered malefic. Nature-wise saturn is malefic and has malefic influence on the chart but has its good qualities also. Being the lord of time he times marraige and major important events in a person's life. It has both its +ve and -ve effects and shows it as per his dasha and transits. It depends on the horoscope and it may be Yogakaraka for the chart & if exalted aspected by benefics gives fantastic results in a chart. You are very clear. => Thanx again. You know how to encourage people ( i must say that O:-) ). Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudevai Namah ================================== What does this mean? => This is the mantra of Lord Vishnu. In hindu religion Lord Vishnu is the one who is the creator of the whole universe and he is the one above whom there is no god. In hindi we call it "Sarvasva" means all in all. Hence, i use this mantra to bow down and dedicate my analysis before him to guide & bless me. In hindi we call Lord Vishnu as "Vasudev" and so, Vasudevai. Definatley replies will come immediately. This is so exciting to me that I can understand a bit of what you say here. My Vedic Lagna, we say first house in western, holds ketu, we say south node in western chart. Mercury lord of Vedic Lagna, is conjunct we say with Sun in 2nd, Sun ruler of 3rd house of communication. It's like learning another language. I must look up vargottam. I can't recall exactly what that is. I don't know why I find this all so exciting, but I do. I can hardly wait to learn more. I don't know how I am so fortunate to come on this list in late June, a new person who knows nothing about Vedic.. I say to the list, Jupiter is in my 7th house and meant to say is the lord of my 7th house. You answer right away and offer to do my Vedic chart and I'm learning so much from you. You were so patient in the beginning when I didn't understand the way the chart is set up and got confused over referring to the planets in the houses. I don't know why you didn't get fed up with me then and there. I think you would make a fine teacher of Vedic Ashwin. The author and teacher of Vedic who switched from western, James Braha went to India 3 times to learn direct from a Vedic astrologer. Today I read from his first book that I obtained, Astro- Logos that there are 40 different dasa systems in existance. He uses Vimsottari the most widely used. When he first met the astrologer he talks about in his book, he was told he would have fame in his life but not till his 36th year which begins right after the 35th birthday. He was nearly 34 at the time. His Saturn is in his 5th house which he says shows the past life credit. (I'm pleased to have Jupiter there and the Moon, though not happy to have Mars there). The teacher went on to say that each planet matures at a different time and Saturn matures in the 36th year. Mr Braha had never read this principle in any other texts. The term is called Poorvapunya. I expect that is not new to any student as wise as yourself. Mercury he said, matures at 32 and at that age, he was on a mountain top in Nepal and wrote his first papers on western astrology as he hadn't begun to study Vedic quite then. It was the beginning of his writing but it wasn't successful. In his 33rd year, he wrote a text on Vedic after his studies. It also wasn't successful then. In his 35 year, he was in his Rahu dasa and he would be entering his Saturn bhukti. Saturn rules the space of his 9th and is connected to his career. Rahu is in his career space. He was involved in teaching meditation for years before he ever learned western or Vedic astrology. He had been on a spiritual path most of his adult life to that point, due to Saturn ruling his 9th space. His first book came out in his 36th year and it was a huge success in the west. I have not opened the file nor did it attach. I will look for it on the web. Thanks for trying to send it. => Never mind. I will send the file on your id. It depends on the horoscope and it may be Yogakaraka for the chart & if exalted aspected by benefics gives fantastic results in a chart. Oh I see. It has some of both in it's nature. It does in western as well depending on it's relationship to other planets. In my western chart, it is in good aspect to Jupiter, Moon and Mars, in what is called trine aspects.. meaning 4 houses/spaces away.. so I have always found Saturn more positive in my life than negative. It is also in my 9th house in western and my life has been spent on a spiritual path since I was 28. This is the age in western when Saturn returns to it's birth position by transit. It's called of course, the Saturn return. Many people if not most, find this to be a most difficult period of life. They find their marriage ends or their career. They may lose a parent or suffer major health issues. I was happy to find it was the most peaceful joyful time in my life and was spent studying astrology day and night for 2 solid years and spirituality, all for the first time. Many people can't believe I could say this but it is true. I know it's due to it's position in the western 9th and in good aspect particularly to Jupiter. I recall Jupiter is in good aspect to Saturn in the 9th space in my Vedic also. So a Vedic astrologer would know that I would be on a spiritual path most of my life. It came up in your reading of my Vedic as well. You are very clear. => Thanx again. You know how to encourage people ( i must say that O:-) ). Guest guest
Dear Sally.h, Namaste. First let me thank you for sending the chart. I hope I can download it all. I have a Mac computer and sometimes I can't use all that PC people can. People with personal computers of all kinds, in case you don't know that term. => Yes, i am very well aware of this as i am in IT field for the last 2+ years. Never mind, i will send you seperately your chart in text format which shall not be a problem in opeaning on any o/s no matter which one it is. => Yes, Rahu and Ketu are nodes and what you say is absolutely correct - conjuct. I just put that in my own words. Vargottam means that the planet is in the same sign as it is in Basic chart and in Navamsa. I don't know why you didn't get fed up with me then and there. I think you would make a fine teacher of Vedic Ashwin. => I will say your God brought you here. When the right-time comes, the person automatically finds direction. I being another student of Astrology was only a medium to generate interest in you and nothing else. Thanx. Yes, i am patient and also, i could understand that you are from western astrology so, the concept will take sometime for you to know & get adjusted to the way we in vedic astrology look into the chart. Thanx once again for saying that. I would rather take it as a blessing from you. I sincerely wish someday i have so much of knowledge that i can teach somebody. But yes, i have been a teacher(though not a part of my job-profile) and have taught computer basics to students. The author and teacher of Vedic who switched from western, James Braha went to India 3 times to learn direct from a Vedic astrologer. Today I read from his first book that I obtained, Astro- Logos that there are 40 different dasa systems in existance. He uses Vimsottari the most widely used. He had been on a spiritual path most of his adult life to that point, due to Saturn ruling his 9th space. His first book came out in his 36th year and it was a huge success in the west. => That's very interesting. Very nice to know and read the story about Mr.James Braha. I did visit his website and learnt about him. Yes, the planets have age of maturity and you will learn about them in the lessons on the list which i have recommended you privately on your id. Oh I see. It has some of both in it's nature. It does in western as well depending on it's relationship to other planets. In my western chart, it is in good aspect to Jupiter, Moon and Mars, in what is called trine aspects.. meaning 4 houses/spaces away.. => Exactly. It is the same in Vedic also. Jupiter is in trine to Saturn and also called 9/5 from each other and it was this word "trine" which i was not able to recollect that day. I am not so much used to english terms :-( OM MANI PADME HUM ================== I cant understand this :-| Really? I thought it was Hindi? But yes, i have been a teacher(though not a part of my job-profile) and have taught computer basics to students. The author and teacher of Vedic who switched from western, James Braha went to India 3 times to learn direct from a Vedic astrologer. Today I read from his first book that I obtained, Astro- Logos that there are 40 different dasa systems in existance. He uses Vimsottari the most widely used. Mercury he said, matures at 32 and at that age, he was on a mount ain top in Nepal and wrote his first papers on western astrology as he hadn't begun to study Vedic quite then. Om Namoh Bhagwate Vasudevai Namah==================================What does this mean?=> This is the mantra of Lord Vishnu. That is fine.OM MANI PADME HUM===================> I cant understand this :-| Really? I thought it was Hindi? It means Salutations to the Jewel in the Lotus, or Salutations to the God within. I have been involved in several spiritual meditation groups over the years and we often chanted for a 1/2 hour or so. One was a Swami and the other a Guru from India by the name of Saraydarian. He has written many books. They each built an ashram, Saraydarian in California and the other in Ashville,Oregon. => That's GR8. Yes, meditation helps a lot and all learned members suggest you to meditate along with study. It also gives you a quite mind to think, analyse and work. Yes, you can discuss this with me but i would prefer out-of-list. I am not aware of any of the names you have mentioned -- not so highly spiritually inclined though i contribute in my own way, my little bit towards my god. I understand. That's ok about off list. It would be best. I'm sure your path is right for you and what you contribute is in no way less than anyone. As hopefully we all do. => yups :-)Oh sorry. pr means progressed. That is the planets positions as they've moved on.=> Never Mind. I have heared of these terminologies also and would like to learn & work upon it. There are two kinds of progressions in western, but this is a Vedic list so I won't go into western. I 'm sure the list members would prefer we speak about Vedic in all fairness."_)And I nearly so of Vedic. => So, we land up in a similar kinda boat but in different context. Yes, seems so. You still have an edge. Your knowledge of Western will help you grasp vedic fast. :=)Your knowledge of Vedic would help you to grasp western fast but I doubt you have an interest since it seems even the western astrologers are turning to Vedic.. so that says, Vedic is best in many ways. You shall be among the first to know. => Wonderful. I would be happy & look forward to hear the good news from you. I don't know if you compare charts of people in Vedic. => Yes, we do compare charts in Vedic-Astrology and it has a lot of significance and value in deciding marraiges in India. As far as the above two are concerned - my 2 cents for the second person regarding whom you have mentioned. Does he look younger than his age, Intellegent and Spiritual ? Also gets irritated easier. let me know. He looks much younger than his age. He is intellegent and I don't know about spiritual other than he attends church and is faithfully caring for his wife who is more of a patient than a wife the last 10 years. I've never noticed that he gets irratated. At least I as a care giver 2 days a week, have never seen him in that context where he is irratated. But you are mostly right. How do you come to that as a possibility?I'd be happy to. => :-( I have not read any of these books. Still, i would be glad if i can sort out your queries. Feel free to ask any question. Thank you for your kindness.I will also suggest you a list where you can learn basics of vedic astrology and interact with highly-learned people. Will mail you privately regarding this. That would be very much appreciated. That is quite amazing..and exciting. I intend to use both when I'm able to use Vedic.=> You will definately. That's wonderful. Thank you.=> Welcome. There is no DST in the winter months. It begins in April and ends in Oct. in the US. I like that.=> Yes, its the same only the pronounciation is little different. With Regards,Pranam,Ashwin Hirani--Thanks again Ashwin and thanks for your prompt reply also.
