You have been a western astrologer for long and so i am sure that by this time your basics would have been undoubtly clear. The characteristics & Nature of sign(s) must be spick and span clean in your head and the significance of houses must be sparkling clear with the knowledge as to where is the thin line to draw between the houses and their significance. To top it all you are very elder --- you are 67 years old and age adds experience - & to get this there is no medicine in the world. Hence, i wonder what i will be able to contribute.... Still here is my humble attempt.... 1st ---- Lagna lord is mercury who is also the lord of the 4th. He is situated with Sun the 3rd lord in the 2nd. In navamsa he is with moon his enemy but is in the friends sign of mars i.e scorpio. Moon gets Debilaited in scorpio. Mercury gets aspect from Saturn who is in 10 th in navamsa. The 1st house has Ketu in gemini and he is vargottam in navamsa making it remove its blemishnes. In navamsa lagna lord venus joins sun and rahu in the 8 th. venus here happens to be the lord of 6 th also and sun happens to be lord of 4th. In basic chart jupiter from the 5 th aspects ketu also who is the lord of 7 th and 10 th. Hence, in general it can be said that you are a person who is quite attached to the family, Intellegent but gets angry soon. Ketu specially behaves like mars and he is the one who gives agressiveness. He along with jupiter will give inclination towards god. Being vargottam and aspected by venus & sun gives you good physical features and jupiter will give good nature as he is also in friends sign of mars being aspected by mars in navamsa. Ketu happens to form 9/5 yoga with jup,moon,mars & saturn who are in the trikonas. Very auspicous combination. 2nd --- Second house lord is moon who is in the 5 th and joins 7 th and 10 th lord Jupiter along with mars who is 11 th and 6 th lord Mars. Moons sign lord venus is not friendly to him but he is neutral towards him; Mars is in equals sign of venus and gets exalation in 9 th in navamsa. Moon gets debiliated and joins 2nd and 5 th lord mercury in the martian sign of scorpio. There exhist a Budh-Aditya yoga in the second house where sun and mercury joins together within 5 degress. This also means that mercury is combust. Second house lords Ketu in the navamsa. hence, you belong to a family where members are quite learned. Have a good speech power as budh-aditya yoga forms. Moreover, he is in kendra with jup,moon & mars giving you good command over your tounge - sometimes sharp. Sun in the second friends sign and in the 8 th will make you work hard and industrious. For Sun in the 8 th many times i have seen that the person learns the tough way out after struggle. I printed my chart from a Vedic website. Sun is in the 4th from the chart I obtained. Saturn is in the 11th. Sun is in Cancer in the 4th of the chart. Asc would be Gemini moving it back nearly 24 degrees. I don't understand why the Asc shows to be in the 3rd in the Vedic chart. In Western the ASc is in the first house. Moon is not with Mercury. Mercury in Leo in Western moves back to Cancer. I don't understand vargottam or navamsa or the term "remove it's blemishes"? Rahu is in the 9th in this chart. Venus is in the 5th. Jupiter is in 7th in vedic chart with Moon and Mars. So you can see I'm quite the novice. Western astrology doesn't help me much. There was a terrible problem in childhood.. due to a mentally disturbed mother. My child was adopted so there was no problem with childbirth. Yes, I am intellegent.. I'm happy to see that the charts I have from the vedic astrology site are exactly as the two below. Yet when y ou talk of the planets, they are not in the houses that the chart shows.. so I don't understand that at all. To speak of aspects I don't have in western astrology such as Venus in good aspect to Saturn.. Jupiter in aspect to Mars.. and you speak of planets in houses that are not in the houses you say they are..that I see in the vedic chart so I see there's some large pieces of vedic I have yet to learn. More than I thought. All I know is you were so very accurate in this reading. I would like very much to know what is coming up over the next few years. In western astrology, Jupiter is in my first house and will conjunct my Sun for many months, then to move on to conjunct Neptune and Venus. I wonder what vedic shows as far as the future. I understand that one can be in a certain period for many years. I don't recall the name of the periods but they last so very long and some are very difficult. I would like to know what periods I am in. Are they called darsa? I'm not sure. I have a friend who studied for a short time and told me just a bit and I don't remember more. Now, the 30 degrees are further divided into of 3 deg 20 min each. Hence, there are 9 parts which we get out of one zodiac. Because of this division of 9 parts it is called Navamsa or D-9 i.e. 9 th division of the basic chart. Further these each divisions are situated in different zodiacs in ascending order. For example - for Aries sign - the 3deg 20 min first division will be Aries, second will be Taurus, 3rd 3deg 20min will be Gemini and this goes on till the last part i.e till 12 as there are 12 zodiacs. Now, as one zodiac can have only 9 parts the balance zodiac signs are carried forward to the next sign. So, aries will have zodiacs of navamsa upto 9 only and the 10 th will go to Taurus. Now, for example a planet is situated in 21 deg 40 min in Taurus. Then the first 9 are covered in Aries. Taurus starts from 10 th. Now, Taurus will again have 9 parts. 10,11,12- these three will first be covered in Taurus which will take 10 degress ( 3d.20m + 3d.20m + 3d.20m). Now another 3 will cover another 10 deg that is 20 deg. Now, the planet is at 21 deg 40 min which means it is within 23 deg 20 min and that comes to the 7 th division (3+3+1). Now the first 3 goes to capri., acqu. and pisces. So, we start from Aries again. Out of 7 now the balance remains is 3 for this planets and hence the planet will be in 4 th zodiac sign that is Cancer in navamsa. " I don't see how Jupiter is in Aries.. Now, the 30 degrees are further divided into of 3 deg 20 min each. Hence, there are 9 parts which we get out of one zodiac. Because of this division of 9 parts it is called Navamsa or D-9 i.e. 9 th division of the basic chart. Further these each divisions are situated in different zodiacs in ascending order. For example - for Aries sign - the 3deg 20 min first division will be Aries, second will be Taurus, 3rd 3deg 20min will be Gemini and this goes on till the last part i.e till 12 as there are 12 zodiacs. Now, as one zodiac can have only 9 parts the balance zodiac signs are carried forward to the next sign. So, aries will have zodiacs of navamsa upto 9 only and the 10 th will go to Taurus. Now, for example a planet is situated in 21 deg 40 min in Taurus. Then the first 9 are covered in Aries. Taurus starts from 10 th. Now, Taurus will again have 9 parts. 10,11,12- these three will first be covered in Taurus which will take 10 degress ( 3d.20m + 3d.20m + 3d.20m). Now another 3 will cover another 10 deg that is 20 deg. Now, the planet is at 21 deg 40 min which means it is within 23 deg 20 min and that comes to the 7 th division (3+3+1). Now the first 3 goes to capri., acqu. and pisces. So, we start from Aries again.
