Guest guest
Dear Rambha, "Mr. Hari has recommended worshipping my Ishta- " I can understand for a beginner( well, even i am 1 also ) it is very difficult to find out Ishta-Devta on his own. Hence, let me make an attempt to find your ishta-devta. In your Chart your Ak(Atmakaraka - planet with the highest Degree ) is Sun. Sun is in 11 th house in Navamsa. 12 th from Sun is Capricon sign. Capricon has Jupiter and Venus, Jupiter being higher in Degree and aspected by Mars from the 7 th. Mars gets exalation in Capricon and hence becomes the strongest by aspect. As per rule - "Look at the 12th house from this sign(Ak in Navamsa - i.e. Karakamsa )and look for planet(s) disposited in it. A single planet will denote the Ishta Devata as represented by the planet. If there are more planets in the 12th - then choose the strongest by way of degrees - the one who has won over others. All the planets aspecting the 12th will give the result. But again, the one who will rule over the rest of the planets, will be the strongest, will represent Ishta-Devta ". Now, considering the above :- The planet which wins is Mars aspecting 12 th from Karakamsa Sun and is exalted in Capricon. The deities for the nine grahas are: Surya - Shiva Chandra - Gauri Mangal - Skanda/Kartikeya/Muruga Budh - Vishnu Brihaspati - Samba Shiva (Guru Rupa) Sukra - Lakshmi Sani - Narayana Rahu - Durga Ketu - Ganesh Mars represents Skanda/Kartikeya/Muruga. It can also be Lord Hanuman ( Senior members correct me if i am wrong ) as Mars rules Tuesday and its day of Hanumanji. Hence, in my humble Opinion "I believe in Lord Rama and hanumana- recite hanuman chalisa and sundarkand religiously- " what you are doing is absolutely correct. And Lord Hanuman will be your Ishta-Devta. One basic question must be in your mind. Why pray to Ishta-Devta ? Ans: "Ishta Devata is the guiding deity of the Atma at every step. Prayer to Ishta Devata will remove all obstacles and set the Atma on the right path" I would like if any senior learned members comment upon this and throw light whether i have gone right on the above. Guest guest
Om Guruave Namah Dear Ashwin, In Rambha's Case you are right in most of the points ... but however, her Ista does not become Hanuman for the following reasons. 1. 12th from karakamsa has jupiter and venus. Jupiter get;s more degrees and hence he is the significator of ista. Jupiter signifies Samba Shiva and hence he is the ista. 2. Mars aspects 12th from karakamsa by graha drishti and NOT by rasi drishti. Am sure you know the difference. In anycase the rules are very clear. When 12th from karakamsa has more planets, the planet that has gained more degrees is the ista. and in this case, aspects are not seen. We both need to meditate more in understanding rasi drishti.
