From Sag to Scorpio rising?!

In my Western chart, I have Sagittarius rising, and just recently I

learned that my Vedic rising sign is Scorpio.

As far as I have been able to gather, these two go by extremely

different chracteristics. The switch from Virgo to Leo Sun just adds

to the confusion! I'm SO not a Leo - in my own eyes...

My Moon is in Taurus in both cases.

I have noticed that some of the scorpionic traits are "compensated"

for in my Western chart, with aspects like Mars conj Pluto.

I'm just wondering what the actual difference is between the

personality traits ascribed to one by the two types of "systems", and

why there would be differences when you're supposed to buy into a

certain degree of determinism inherit in the natal chart?

I'm an absolute beginner, so if anyone is as good as to provide me

with a response, I'd prefer that it doesn't get too philospohical.

Thank you in advance:)

Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac. Whereas western is tropical.

Vedic is not a study of psychological traits per se, rather it is

event oriented. There is a bit of controversy as to what the anayasma

is though. It is approx. 23 degrees less than tropical. For more info

go to the bookstore and read about vedic astrology.

I have to say I don't feel much wiser, but thanks for caring:)

About going to the bookstore; I live in Norway, and there's limited

interest in astrology in general. Therefore, it's very difficult to

come across comprehensive literature on the subject. The internet is

my main source of information; I wasn't being lazy.

Dear member, go to the web site and get u r chart. don't worry

about the ayanamsa. it is a big stuff to understand.

No use of trying west (sayana ) system with east (niryana ) system

to compare. Both differ a lot regarding predictions.

u look like scorpion asc according to niryana system of east. because

u

have a firm grip like scorpion.(this prediction per east nirayana.)

Anyhow regarding predictions, character, don't try to mix both.

to get ur chart go http://www.astromandir.com go there.

it is lahiri ayanamsam most famous astrologers of the world use it.

also it has bava positions such as begnning mid end points . these

r very useful stuffs.

earlier I too had some severe problems regarding mixing both system.

anyhow we are here to help you. don't hesitate to ask further

questions.

kind regards,

Siva

Hello, The two systems have to be taken separately. That eliminates confusion,

they represent different perspectives, that's all. They have to be studied as a

whole on separate basis. The tropical zodiac is supposedly shifting it's

meanings over time to account for the stars gradual movements across the sky.

Tha's one approach. In the east the face is the second house. Also in the

east, the rising sign determines the house rulerships distinctly, that makes a

huge difference. Aloha, Sally

In my Western chart, I have Sagittarius rising, and just recently I learned that

my Vedic rising sign is Scorpio. As far as I have been able to gather, these two

go by extremely different chracteristics. The switch from Virgo to Leo Sun just

adds to the confusion! I'm SO not a Leo - in my own eyes...My Moon is in Taurus

in both cases.I have noticed that some of the scorpionic traits are

"compensated" for in my Western chart, with aspects like Mars conj Pluto. I'm

just wondering what the actual difference is between the personality traits

ascribed to one by the two types of "systems", and why there would be

differences when you're supposed to buy into a certain degree of determinism

inherit in the natal chart? I'm an absolute beginner, so if anyone is as good

as to provide me with a response, I'd prefer that it doesn't get too

philospohical. Thank you in advance:)Get Free! astrological
