Dear Dasradh,

Using 's "System's Approach" - see

www./satva and www.yournetastrologer.com -

As your Ascendant is GEMINI, the only FMs (Functional Malefics) are

Rahu and Ketu.

My answers are below.

Vedic Astrology , dasradha wrote:

Although the 3rd Lord of Younger Siblings (Sun) is Exalted in both

Rasi and Navamsa and is well placed in the 11th House of [Older

Siblings], it is weak due to being in Infancy - further, its

Dispositor (Mars) is itself weak in Debility in Cancer, and itself

has a weak Dispositor of Moon, who is badly placed in the 8th House

of [Deathlike situations/Obstructions/Accidents] and is afflicted by

being Conjunct with the Planet of Miseries (Ketu) and is 7th-aspected

by FM Rahu. Moon is in Infancy too.

So the 3rd Lord of Younger Siblings and the 11th Lord of Older

Siblings are both weak.

> 2)why separated from parents for 16 yrs ?

Lord of Mother (4th Lord) is Mercury, who is well placed in 11th

House, but has a weak Dispositor (Mars again). Lord of Father (9th

Lord) is Saturn who is badly placed in the 8th House and is very weak

in Old Age. Karaka for Mother (Moon) is weak and afflicted as

described above. Karaka for Father (Sun) is also weak, again

described above. Finally, the 2nd (Moon) and 4th (Mercury) Lords of

[Family] and [Domestic Happiness/Stability] are both weak.

> 3)what to expect in guru dasa? (very brief good/bad will do)

Jupiter is incredibly strong in your Chart - the only strong PLanet,

in fact. It is Lord of 7th [spouse/Foreign Relations/Foreign

Residence/Business Partnerships], and is very well placed right in

the 10th House of [Career/Rise in Life] - if not married, expect to

get married, and definitely the Dasa-Bhukti of Jupiter-Jupiter will

be very good for you. Jupiter is the saving Grace in your Chart.

So from November 2000 to December 2002, except much progress in

Married Life/Career.

However, the Transits sometimes supercede the Bhuktis - presently,

your 7th and 9th Lords (Jupiter and Saturn) are transiting in the

12th House of [Losses/unwanted Expenses] - Jupiter will move into

your 1st House in mid-June 2001, so that will be excellent as it will

still be the Dasa-Bhukti of Jupiter-Jupiter then.

Transit Rahu and Ketu are currently closing in on your 1st/7th MEPs

respectively, hence Geminis are experiencing some upheaval now - this

will be over for you in mid-August 2001 when they move away from the

range of your 1st/7th MEPs.

I answer your other questions that i can below -

> > > 3) New dasa period (from Nov 2000) . What will be its +/-

effects?

See above.

> > > 4) Expected # of children, gender? (i have 1,a boy)

In fact, Jupiter is Karaka for Children and is also in the 10th House

of Male Children - while I cannot gauge the number of Children I

would say Jupiter-Jupiter could bring more Children (likely to be

Male as Jupiter is a Male planet).

> > > 5) Parents(dad 70,mother 61). Concern for their

> health/longetivity?

See above comments on 9th Lord, 4th Lord, Moon and Sun. Although if

they are at this Stage of Life, I would not worry about their

Longevity as they have survived so far.

> > > 6) Eldest and only son . No brothers/sisters. Why?

> > > (each survived only few days due to Rh-ve factor in the late

> > 60's)

See above.

> > > 7) Happen to live away from parents for last 16

> yrs /study/career abroad. Also shuttling between foreign countries.

> Why?

See above for separation from Family. The 9th Lord of [short trips],

Saturn is very weak, although I would say the Foreign Element should

have worked out in your favour (due to strong 7th Lord, Jupiter).

> > > 8) Good education 2 masters, steady career and money, no major

> > > regrets - but do get a bottled-up feeling like performing

> > > "under-potential" , like something holding back. Why?

Affliction of Ketu-Rahu axis to Moon [Mind/Emotions] and weakness of

Mercury [Confidence/Nerves].

> > > 9) What would be the overall wealth/career status for this

> chart?

7th Lord strong in 10th House indicates Career will be better abroad

perhaps. Weak 11th Lord (Mars) of [income/Gains] off-sets this a

bit, as does the weak 2nd Lord (Moon) of [status/Accumulated wealth].

> > > 10) Does this chart have any success in business ventures? I

> have some ideas in my career line (btw: did you guess my career)

Perhaps better in Foreign Countries or with Foreign partners - Career

has some Foreign Element, maybe? Or Gold/yellow things (Jupiter)?

Very best - Sateesh.

Dear Sateesh,

Many thanks for taking the time. I had these questions

for many years.

I never checked /not thought of astrology . it is fascinating how you

confidently explain things. now i need to get me a book and study

some basics..

Sateesh, I have some followup questions for your consideration:

1) First. I went to WWW.yournetastrologer.com and the Ascendant came

in as CANCER!!! So can you reconfirm it is GEMINI???

2) In practical terms: how do I "play down" MOON, SATURN, RAHU, KETU

and MARS being "badly placed" and focus/capitalize on JUPITER being

"well placed"? Does this kind of question make any sense?

3) If Saturn is "weak" should'nt that be a good thing?

4) 'Exalted'(sun) is a positive term - but I am not sure - is it good

or bad?

6) In one place you say MERCURY is strongly placed in 11th but in

another you say MERCURY is weak. Can you please clarify?

7) I see the only planet left out of your comments was VENUS. What is

its role in my case?

8) What is "MEP" ?

9) HOW can career be good yet there are issues with status

/gains/income?

10) As only son with aged parents when do you likely see me

relocating back to India. ( I am US perm resident; you were correct

about foreign contact)

I suggest "Systems Approach to Astology" by or "Astrology

for Life" By the Professor and David Hawthorne for the study of S.A.

If this data is correct -

Apr 17,1963

Time: 10:47AM Zone: 5:30 DST: 0

Chennai, India

Longitude: 80E17 Latitude: 13N05

then this is what Junior Jyotish would give as Gemini. You can check the

co-ordinates I got by going to www.astro.ch then click on "Old Atlas Query",

then enter your City of birth

I have also re-checked in Goravani Jyotish 2.26 and get the same Data. Try

entering your Data again on the Professor's site.

> 2) In practical terms: how do I "play down" MOON, SATURN, RAHU, KETU

> and MARS being "badly placed" and focus/capitalize on JUPITER being

> "well placed"? Does this kind of question make any sense?

You can contact to see if he can suggest any Remedies

either on the S.A. List or at siha . You can generally capitilise

on a Strong Planet during its Positive Transits and Bhuktis - as it is

strong in your Birth Chart, you should always enjoy its benefits but

particularyl during the above Periods (Good Transits and Bhuktis).

> 3) If Saturn is "weak" should'nt that be a good thing?

Weak Planets are not considered good but bad in S.A. - further, S.A. does

not class Saturn as "Naturally Malefic" - in your Chart, Saturn is a

Functional Benefic, as its MT Sign (Aquarius) does not fall in the Evil 6th,

8th or 12th Houses.

> 4) 'Exalted'(sun) is a positive term - but I am not sure - is it good

> or bad?

Exalted means Strong in a particular Sign - in Sun's case, it is exalted in

Aries - Exaltation is always good.

> 6) In one place you say MERCURY is strongly placed in 11th but in

> another you say MERCURY is weak. Can you please clarify?

I wrote Mercury is well placed, not strongly placed, as it is not in the

Evil 6th, 8th or 12th Houses - it is in the good 11th House of Income.

> 7) I see the only planet left out of your comments was VENUS. What is

> its role in my case?

Venus is your 5th Lord of [Children/Romance/Speculations/Higher Learning] -

it is well placed in the 9th House oof Fortune/Father, but is weak in Old

Age, has a weak Dispositor (Saturn) and is afflicted by Rahu's 9th aspect.

> 8) What is "MEP" ?

MEP is the Most Effective Point - your Rising Degree is 15*43 - the MEP of

the 1st House applies to all 12 Houses. Any Planet conjuct or aspecting 5

Degrees either side of the MEP of any House (so any Planet that is between

10*43 and 20*43 in a House) will have a Significant impact on that House.

> 9) HOW can career be good yet there are issues with status/gains/income?

Career is not necessarily tied in to Status/Gains/Income :-) - e.g. you can

have a Good Career, that is not necessarily recognised (Status) or which

does not necessarily pay well (Gains/income).

All the Factors in the Chart have to be taken into consideration, and then a

Conclusion reached - if Income (11th) Lord is weak but Wealth (2nd) Lord is

strong, then that counters the weak 11th Lord to an extent.

> 10) As only son with aged parents when do you likely see me relocating

back to India.

> ( I am US perm resident; you were correct about foreign contact).

I can't tell that, but perhaps in Bhuktis or Dasas of the 4th Lord of Home

(Mercury).

Very best - Sateesh.

Dear Sateesh,

I sincerely appreciate v.much your candid and clear answers to my

followup questions. Thanks again! I will appreciate yr answers more

perhaps after reading the books as you suggested.

I have now one question (the last unless its ok with you..as I may

have extended your courtesy v.much already..)

This Question is not related to me but my wife's.

She has v.good qualifcations (gpa 4.0 etc), But, Lots of

interruptions in between full-time jobs where she excelled in short

bursts. (This time it was birth of our first son that kept her home

for now almost 2yrs.)

Her Data is : 30-8-67/11.28am New Delhi, India

1) Do you see any long term career destiny for this chart?

2) What is a good time to start serious attempts to get back to work?

3) Can you judge field/industry, longterm stability?

4) A general Natal chart analysis? (good/bad planetary aspects,

v.briefly)

....aslo someone in india told her she has 7yr shani. is this true

and if so what is the implication?

~Namaste~,

&grateful for any inputs,

dasradh
