Functional Malefic/Benefics

Hello All,

 

I would appreciate if anyone could help me understand a few

fundamental questions that are unclear to me.

 

If a planet for eg. Jupiter being a first rate becomes a functional

Malefic for a chart. How would one read the effects of Jupiter.

Would it by his inherent nature expand the Malificiance of the houses

where he aspects and would he by being a functional malefic taint the

planets that he cojoins/aspects. Or the other scenario where by his

inherent benefic nature despite being a functional malefic would

reduce the malificiance of the houses that he aspects and expand the

qualities of the planets he aspects and cojoins ? On the same token

how would one study a planet like Mars , being a malefic planet by

inherent nature is a functional benefic how would he act in a chart ?

 

How would one study the above scenario if the planets are in a state

of Exaltation or Debilitation ?

 

When gurus, jyotisha write that a planet X is afflicted by malifics

like Saturn, Mars etc what would that mean in respect to a scenario

if Saturn were to own 9th and 10th house for that matter or if Mars

were to be a YogaKaraka ... would one still say that a planet is

*Afflicted* by Mars and Saturn ?
