I have a question: U can have different divisional charts like navamsa, hora, saptamsa, dasamsa..etc..etc How do i correlate these charts with the rasi chart? For example if we take the navamsa chart (this is for marriage related purposes) how do i correlate this chart with the Rasi Chart(Lagna Chart) Any comments/inputs would be appreciated. Thanks. Guest guest
Hello Sharath, D-9 is the most important divisional chart among all the divisional charts. D-9 is not just for marriage related events, it has to be seen for every event of life. Whenever you analyse any event in D-1, see the position of concerned planets in D-9 also. A planet in firendly sign / mooltrikona / exaltation / aspected by benefic planets in D-1 should also be in favourable position in D-9 also to give its results. A debilitated planet in D-1, but exalted in D-9 tends to give very good results and is very powerful and vice-versa. Similarly, lagna lord and Moon should not go into 6,8,12 houses in D-9. They should have connection with yogakarka / benefic planets. On the other hand, a exalted / mooltrikona planet in D-1, but debilitated in D-9 tends to lose its benefic results. Many astrologers do not consider the yogas forming in divisional charts, different aspects, but many does (including K.N. Rao, Dr. Charak) In brief, always analyse D-9 chart along with D-1 chart in astrology. Hope it'll give some guidance. With Best Wishes Bye! Guest guest
Hi eisa, As far as i know, i think there are 16 different divisional charts each of which represent different areas of life. For example one of the most popular divisional chart is the "navamsa" chart which is used to see the married life of the native. It is called the 9th division chart. the position of planets/aspects/... when seen inthe navamsa chart and correlated with the rasi chart, the marriage/married life of the native can be accurately predicted. Let me see if i can pick up some material on this and will post it here. Guest guest
Dear List Members, amongs the vargas the navamsa is most important. SOme simple and effective ways to use it are the following: FInd the navamsa lord of a planet, in the dasa of that navamsa lord the effects of that planet are given dependent upon the disposition of the navamsa dispositor. FOr instance, if the 7th lord is in Leo navamsa, and if the Sun, lord of Leo was in the 8th house in the rasi, then in the dasa of the Sun, relationships would be an up and down, unstable affair. Also if Jupiter is in the navamsa of Saturn, for instance, and Saturn was well placed in the rasi, then Saturn could give children since Jupiter is the Karaka for children. You can do these techniques with all areas of life. ANother important way to use the navamsa, is for example, if one want to judge the 5th house for children, afer judging the 5th lord, 5th house, and JUpiter in the rasi, look at that same 5th lord and Jupiter in the navamsa, considering only Rasi aspects, not planetary aspects in the Vargas. The navamsa is so much more important then the other vargas, that until one gets comfortable with it it is usually not time to get involved with other Vargas, though the other vargas can confirm, and add detail. Take Care, Ernst www.vedic astrology.net - Eisa Cahill <vitullo <Vedic Astrology > Wednesday, December 13, 2000 12:29 AM [Vedic Astrology] Re: How to correlate different charts? > Hi my name is eisa and I am enjoying this new site. Guest guest
Dear Sir I went to your site and quickly read the article on the newborn. I saw your assertion that stationary positions of Rahu, Ketu, Jupiter and Saturn are very difficult. With the serpentine motion of Rahu and Ketu, they station every few days so it would seem to me that 1/4 to 1/3 of the population might be born with them station. Also I have seen that a stationary planet is very favorable and often shows in unusual talents or abilities in the charts of individual. Is this something that is so difficult that the gift of the station is not worth what difficulty you see in it for the newborn? And, if you would not mind, would you suggest how it actually is difficult for the newborn or how the planet is afflicted by the station placement. I have seen the stationary planets produce very powerful and wonderful results in the charts of adults but know nothing of the newborn and this. sincerely cynthia - SIHA <siha <Vedic Astrology > Wednesday, December 13, 2000 9:47 AM Re: [Vedic Astrology] Re: How to correlate different charts? > > Hello Sharath and list members, > > Hope this finds you in the best of health and spirits. > > You can visit www.YourNetAstrologer.com > for learning about divisional charts and predictive techniques. Guest guest
Dear Cynthia. I would like to be quick to state that the referred website is dedicated to the Systems Approach system of Astrology, and not neccesarily Traditional Parasari Jyotish. It may be important for questions on this list to be directed towards the system one is curious about, as each system has their diversities. Dear Sir My question had nothing to do with vargas but about the assertion that stationary planets are afflicted. Particularly the assertion that a birth should be so planned to avoid them. It would seem almost impossible to avoid a stationary Rahu or Ketu as their motion changes every few days. I have seen great results for those with stationary planets as adults and wondered why it is considered by the author to be so detrimental to a newborn. Guest guest
Perhaps they were more difficult to calculate in times past. I have found through experience that the true nodes are just that true. When there is a transit that is triggered directly by a node it is very powerful. There is not much difference, and that is true, but the closer to exact seems to be closer to accurate prediction. To all I'll take amoment to introduce myself. I am a professional astrologer. For over 20 years I worked with Western astrology alone. For the past 3 years I have included Vedic astrology. I am certified by ACVA. What I have found is that individual charts rarely are as clear and clean as the descriptions in texts. It is very important to know how the native is using the gifts in the chart to offer useful insight into what will come. The chart alone can be clinical and impersonal. Describing an individual without their presence or ability to ask and respond to questions can lead the astrologer into a false sense of ego. We all do it, but it is important to acknowledge free will and the native's ability to choose how he or she will use the chart's gifts. In the case of exalted planets, I have found the native can be inwardly peaceful and not outwardly successful. This is particularly true when the exalted planet is retrograde. When a planet is exalted, the person does not seem to need to approval of others. The journey may not look wonderful to others but the inner world is usually rich. Why would someone have health problems with exalted planets? That is not a simple question to answer, Consider that in the rapid-paced world, illness gives the opportunity to slow down. A debilitated planet that has some form of neecha bunga often manifests as more outward success than an exalted planet does. This comes from the desire to reach out for success and manifestation. Just some thoughts to share. I acknowledge that I am a western woman and bring the excitement of choices and free will as well as my long history of studying the planets as archetypes with me tomy practice of Vedic astrology. In this approach, the planets are not seen as gods but as manifestations of energy and potential. Guest guest
Visti Have you directed this to me because I have dared to point out that the individual with his or her free will is as important as the chart in doing a chart reading????? Astrology without consideration for the sensitive, breathing and vulnerable human that comes with the chart is the type of astrology that ultimately leads to pain and suffering for the client. Each chart is unique, but to ignore the human that comes baring the chart is unconscionable. I know that this group is for beginners, and so I do not fit in. I just visited and saw the direction was without regard to the human. The longer you do this work, the more humbled you will become to the process. I have read thousands of charts and am willing to be enlightened by each encounter with a client. Astrology offers deep and subtle insight along with practical predictions. To miss the power and the impact of this information on the client is to operate from ego. I have read many texts but the power of the individual soul to manifest greatness from a difficult chart, or to experience suffering in a wonderful chart is ever humbling. In time, this humility comes to all astrologers who care about their clients. Cynthia Visti Larsen Vedic Astrology Friday, December 22, 2000 4:49 AM Sv: [Vedic Astrology] Re: How to correlate different charts? Om Krishna Guru Welcome to the list. I think the ability to predict a persons behaviour and ego, has todo more with the astrological capabilities of the astrologer. I'm very disapointed to see how so many astrologers state that astrology is only superficial, this just shows how lazy many are. This shouldn't at all be encouraged. Everyone is different, and their charts will show it for sure. In Ancient times astrologers could give marvelous predictions, beyond comprehension, the nadis show this extensively, however i won't comment on the authenticity of some nadi-readers, for the sake of this list. Jyotish has the power to go into that level of detail, the only hindrage is the capability of the astrologer.
