Guest guest
Hello, 8th house is basically for Chronic diseases, unexpected money, inherited money, marriage partner's or business partner's money(being 2nd from 7th), death, longevity, servants, mangalaya (age of husband - for ladies). Lagna Lod in 8th signifies that the native is clever in giving advice, long lived but will have some diseases, money through life-partner. Capricorn in 8th house signifies responsibilities through affairs of others - either through financial care or through losses caused by them, educated, honoured, expert in all arts. 3rd house indicates courage. 3rd lord in 8th house signifies that the native lacks courage. Here 3rd lord Sun is in enimical house, Capricorn (house of Saturn). So, 3rd lord is not comfortable here. Moon is very strong here and its aspect on 8th house is good for longevity. Moon in 2nd house in Cancer shows that you've great emotional strength and sensitivity, like charities and attractive face. A strong benfic planet in 2nd house (house of wealth) is good for accumulation of wealth. Also, it'll give you soft voice. Due to retrogression of Saturn in transit, it's giving its effect from previous house (Aries) also. You must be feeling unwanted tensions (without any proper reason), loss of wealth, fear, lack of courage, setbacks in professional life. This is the effect of Ardh-ashtam Sani or kantaka Sani. You can expect change in your current mental status after 25th Jan.2001, when Saturn will come to direct motion in Taurus. By this time, you should worship Lord Saturn and Lord Hanuman on Saturday and Tuesday. > Does it mean worries and problems to this individual through and through or is there any > hope for a less problematic life? It doesn't mean that you'll face problems throughout your life. It's just a matter of dasa. Perhaps, you're running dasa of some malefic planet which has made you little tensed and worried about your future. Wait for the change of dasa / transit and have faith on God. However, all above mentioned points are general in nature. Infact, complete horoscope should be analysed to see aspects, lordship, karaks, divisional charts, dasas and transits. Please give your birth particulars to analyse it properly. Also, mention your sex (Male or female) also as it is not possible to analyse it just by name / email address. With Best Wishes Bye! Guest guest
Dear Srevya, Do you have any chronic health problems related to chest or respiratory system ? Lagna lord Mercury is also the 4th lord in 8th may give high degree of concentration in occult study whereas it may give break in study due to domestic disturbances. From lagna Gemini, 8th house has lagna,3rd as well as 4th lord in it. There is possibility of selling off domestic property or accident during journey. From Moon sign Cancer Mercury is 3rd and 12th lord along with 2nd lord Sun in 7th indicating business loss. From Sun sign Capricorn 6th lord Mercury, 8th lord Sun in lagna indicates chronic disease. We could move further after getting your reply. Guest guest
Thanks to both Vipin and Mrutyunjay for your responses. I went back to read my original post and realized that I might have mislead both of you into thinking that the horoscope in question is mine. Sorry about that. It is a family member's horoscope that I am studying. I am a beginner student of vedic astrology and decided to use my family members' horoscopes as study material only because I have access to it and know the details accurately, not to mention watching the details unfold in front of my eyes (hopefully). Having clarified that, I am not as much interested in the present situation with planets but more of a long term nature of the horoscope as the horoscope is that of a six year old male son of mine. The reason I asked about the 8th house is because, I read somewhere that the 8th house signifies worries/problems in general along with death and all the other things you mentioned. So, I wanted to see if this meant a worrisome life overall for this child. The confusion I have comes with the prediction/interpretation process. Most of the books talk about both the positive and as well as the negative aspects of planetary placements in each house. So, how do you figure out which way this person's life will tuen out? Which of the positive or negative aspects are pertinent to this individual? If the ascendant lord(functional benefic for the horoscope) is in a certain house, doesn't it mean it strengthens the positive aspects of the house and not negative? If this is true, then my son's ascendant being in 8th must mean (not considering conjunctions and aspects) less worries, longevity, wealth from wife's side etc. Am I dong this right? Your thoughts are appreciated. To complete the details for the above horoscope, ASC Gemini Mercury 8th house Sun 8th house Moon 2nd house Mars 3rd House Rahu 5th house Ketu 11th house Jupiter 6th house Venus 6th house Saturn 9th house (moolatrikona) Hope this helps further. Guest guest
Hello, > as the horoscope is that of a six year old male son of mine It is adviced by ancient sages not to analyse the chart of a native less than 12 years of age. The reason that they mentioned is that from 1-4 years of his age , the native suffers results from his mother's own karmas, from 5-8 years, he suffers results from his father's own karmas, and then from 9-12 years, it's native own karmas results. (ofcourse, it will continue further also). Yes, it's necessary to see rasi of the new born baby to find out the initial of his name, Gandmula rasi/nakshatra, if any and proper worhsip to be done. Thus, the complete horoscope should be analysed after 12 years. It seems you're a beginner in astrology. Till you get sufficient knowledge in this divine field, don't see you family member's horoscope. It'll just give you unwanted tensions as you may jump over "results" directly without complete knowledge. It's better if you collect horoscopes of your friends, neighbours and famous personalities and refer them. Although, you've mentioned the planetary positions of birth chart, still it's not possible to analyse it completely as basis on just this information, no one can analyse D-9, D-3, D-12, D-30 and other divisional charts and dasas and give accurate predictions. For all this, one will need complete birth particlars (date of birth, time of birth and place of birth). With Best Wishes Bye! Guest guest
Hi!, Thanks for your response Vipin. I am hearing for the first time about the age restriction with regards to analysis of a chart. Maybe, I missed it in my books that I refer to in general. Anyway, I would like to explore this a little further just out of curiosity. What you (Vipin) said with regards to the ages makes sense as, in the initial years, the fortunes of a kid are very much tied to those of his parents. However, isn't it a common practice, in India atleast, to refer to the horoscope whether it is a child or an adult whenever anything bad happens in people's lives just to see if there is a bad dasa or something to remedy it. As I mentioned in my earlier message, I am studying my son's horoscope not to predict his immediate future ( I am not worried about how he will fare in elementary school:-) but to understand the overall nature and quality of the horoscope. I have a personal interest in it obviously. While any negative details might bother me as a mother, wouldn't it be helpful to know these things ahead of time just so that one can do the appropriate remedies where possible? Just my thoughts. Anyway, if this is still of any help, his birth details are as follows: 16th January 1995 Time: 2: 44 PM EST (U.S.) Lat: 39N55 Long: 75W23 I got his chart using Junior Jyotish. I'll look forward to your response. Yes, you're absolutely right. In India, most of the people will refer to any astrologer when something wrong will happen to them. They will not prefer to visit any astrologer at their good times to see their future and manage accoording to that. It's very difficult to put one thing in their mind "Precaution is better than cure". Regarding your son's horoscope, please give name of the city also as it'll give time-zone of the place. Although you've given long. and lat. of the place, but still I don't want to take any risk in making of chart. With Best Wishes Bye! Guest guest
Namaste' all... I am a beginner with a capital B with Vedic Astrology. I am familiar with what I know to be Astrology and yet it appears as though this is a system very different from Vedic. I am lost as you speak. A recent question about Scorpio ascendent. Everything is called something else in the Vedic. I know that my rising sign (ascendent) is 26 degrees Scorpio on the *other* chart. Where does one begin ...truly from the beginning. I am lost on this list and yet don't really want to . Is there a really easy to understand place to begin with a recommended book perhaps? Thank You to all .. Peace. Guest guest
Dear Anne I was a professional western astrologer when I embarked upon Vedic. I know just where you are. Try this web site. http://www.galacticcenter.org Joni Patry has written about the process of entering Vedic astrology. I wish you good luck. I wish I could say that there is one definitive text. I am fond of "Essentials of Vedic Astrology" by Komilla Sutton. If you can't get it easily, try JDR Ventures. I believe they are listed on the search engines and can get you nearly any book you could imagine and do it quickly. If you are feeling lonely with the use of the Sanskrit words, know that there are many of us who retain the western words for the houses signs and planets. email me if you have any questions on getting started. Guest guest
Hello Anne, Don't worry. It happens in beginning almost with everyone. The best approach is to get knowledge about basics of astrology first before jumping into predictions. You must know characteristics of planets, signs and houses. And of course, the mathematical portion. Here I'm giving names of few good books for beginners. Astronomy and Mathematical Astrology - Deepak Kapoor (for mathematical astrology - casting a chart, dasas etc.) How to Judge a horoscope Vol. I and Vol. II - Dr. B.V. Raman You can discuss any kind of problem you face while learning the basics in this list. Also, start collecting different horoscopes along with their 4-5 major events of life. (I would not recommend to include yourself and your family members horoscope in this database) And all above, worship God and 9 planets daily and request them to give you the knowledge of astrology - the divine knowledge. Guest guest
Hello, There is some confusion regarding the birth particulars of your son. I'm using the following data: DOB - 16th Jan., 1995 TOB - 2:44 PM Lat - 39N55 Long - 75W23 As the time zone is -5 hrs., I'm taking it as 5 hrs. , west of GMT Day light saving time is off. But all this data does not give the chart you give. (Lagna lord is not in 8th house) However, if I ignore time zone, taking TOB as a LMT, I get the same chart as you have. Please tell me which is correct procedure. Hoping to get some advice from experts also. With Best Wishes Bye! In India, most of the people will refer to any astrologer when something wrong will happen to them. Guest guest
> Hi Cynthia, I like Ronnie Dryers book Vedic Astrology and William > Levacy's Beneath a Vedic Sky for simplicity and clarity. Sally Dear Sally I've got those too, and enjoyed reading them. While Levacy's book offers a great deal of information, it was a struggle for me when I was a beginner to try to assimilate the pros and cons of each placement. I guess I'm just not an engineer at heart. I gobbled the book up, and agree that it is a useful reference, but always found myself wondering how one placement or nakshatra could be so widely divergent. When I found Komilla's book, I really appreciated her gentle approach and the graceful writing style (BTW I used to teach English, so I'm biased). I particularly liked her descriptions of Rahu, Ketu and the nakshatras. The nakshatras have become my passion in recent months. My clients are always showing me how accurate the symbolism describes the essential nature of the being sitting before me. In the list of must have books, I would also include "Astrology of the Seers" by David Frawley and "Light on Life" by Hart Defou Glad to meet you! Guest guest
Thanks Cynthia nice to meet you. I liked those last two books, don't have Komillas, just ordered one by Hart De Fouw on relationships. I know what you mean about the placements. I am enjoying the SA list it simplifies things and is very clear are you aware of that list and it's merits? Guest guest
Dear Srevya, According to S.A. - If the 1st House contains a non-MT (Moolatrikona) Sign then the Sun becomes the Significator for Self - so although Mercury is in the 8th House, it is more critical as to the posision of the Sun - which in this case is also in the 8th House! However, unlike Mercury, Sun is within the 5-degree Range of the MEP (Most Effective Point = Ascending Degree = 4:02) of the 8th House - Sun is weak in Infancy, besides being badly placed in the 8th House. However, any Planet on the 8th MEP automatically 7th-aspects the MEP of the good 2nd House [Wealth/Family], so your Sun is likely to get Wealth through inheritances/Dowriy, etc. The mitigating factor behind this weak Sun is the extremely Strong Lord of the 9th House (Saturn), as this Planet is Natural Significator (Karaka) for Logevity - so this will counter the weakness of badly placed Infant Sun - Saturn also represents that Father should be extremely fortunate and perhaps religious. Very best - Sateesh. ========== Rashi Chart ******************************************************* ** * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * MO 02:04* * 2 * * * * * * * * *MAR07:35 5 * AS 04:02 * 1 KE 17:59* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 3 * * * ** * * ** * 6 * 12 * ** * * ** * * * 9 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *RA 17:59 7 * * 11SA 15:41* * * * * * * * JU 13:59* SU 02:25* * * * VE 15:36 * * ME 20:50 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * ** ******************************************************* Navamsa Chart ******************************************************* ** * * ** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 9 * * 7 * * * * * * * * * SU 10 * AS * 6 KE * * * * JU * * * * * * VE * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 8 * * * ** * * ** * SA 11 * 5 * ** * * ** * * * 2 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * RA 12* * 4 MO * * * * * * ME * * * 1 * * 3 * * * * * * MAR * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** * * ** ******************************************************* Hi!
