I agree with what Viswanadham ha said. My Guru Ji has taught me to use Mean

Nodes, so there is no question in mind in not using this.

So, let me give my understanding on Mean/True Nodes definition:-

The so-called "True Nodes" are the intersection points of the momentary apparent orbit of Sun.

Actually the expression "True Nodes" is a misnomer. It is rather "Hypothetical

Nodes". The "True Nodes" are true only twice a month, when Moon crosses the

ecliptic. At other times, the positions given for them are just a hypothesis.

Now in other hand, the "Mean Nodes" always move backwards (which is what Rahu

and Ketu are supposed to do, as per scriptures and classics). "True Nodes" have

an osculating motion – they move forward for sometime and backward for

sometime (but backward overall).

So, the main reason for adopting "Mean Nodes" is that "They retrograde al the

time", where as if you use "True Nodes", then the nodes are direct for some

time and retrograde at other times. This seems to go against thir primary

retrograde nature of Rahu and Ketu,is it not ?

Of course, others may differ and I respect their views too.

In Vedic astrology nodes are asura(s) and are always retrograde.

So, it is mean nodes.
