Dear Vistiji, Namaskar.

Below is my first attempt at a slightly (very slightly!) more

comprehensive reading. I'm beginning to realise the importance of

practicing looking at charts. However I fear there are more

questions than statements at present! I am still at a basic level in

learning, so I hope my questions are not too trivial.

I am not trying to make a comprehensive prediction, just to pick up

points from which I can learn. They are a little disjointed, please

forgive that. I would be very grateful if you could correct any

wrong statements and guide me with answers to the questions.

Female, born February 4th 1973

22:15:00, +3:00E

1. Lagna is Virgo with lord Mercury in 5th house, along with

debilitated Jupiter, Venus and Sun. Mercury is also AK, and is

vargottam. Isht Devata is the Sun. Mercury is in combustion, which

results in it furthering the significations of the sun,

but `forgetting' its own, right? Does this mean that Mercury is not

fully capable of protecting its houses (lagna and10th)?

Functional malefics are Saturn, Mars and the Moon.

Sunapha yoga is formed by the moon, and Ubhayachari yoga by the sun.

D3 Kharesh is Jupiter. Venus and Rahu are Khara to D9 lagna, and

Jupiter is Kharesh from D9 moon. Hence Jupiter will disrupt karma

(the native changed career during Ju-Ra) and also affect luck and

fortune. Rahu and Venus are capable of affecting health. Jupiter

and Venus are marak.

Saturn owns a trikon but also a dusthan. Am I correct in thinking

that retrogression increases its malefic effect? Will it

suppress/delay the significations of the 9th?

Jaimini says that AK being in Virgo navamsa may cause the person to

suffer from itch, fire and corpulence. Are these indications likely

to occur during a mercury AD? On the other hand, if mercury is

lagnesh, will it not try to protect the physical body, and therefore

the problems may be reduced?

She has been recently diagnosed with hypo-thyroidism, which could be

described by corpulence, but that started during Sa-Sa dasha. Is

that because Saturn lords 6th house?

Jaimini also says that if Ketu occupies 2nd from AL, the native will

look older than their age. Is this because the 2nd from AL is the

house that sustains the AL, and Ketu will starve the AL of

sustenance, making the native *appear* older than they are? (or am I

stretching things)

Because Lagnesh is in 5th, this is inauspicious for children, but

will benefit the father.

Mars lords 3H and 8H in D1. This indicates happiness and wealth, but

also a wicked spouse (BPHS)

Jupiter is bhadakesh, and is afflicted by debilitation, and 12th from

it houses Rahu and Mars. This suggests the wrath of the deity

signified by Jupiter. What are the consequences of this?

Career. The native initially worked in a travel agency. After

divorce she dropped that and returned to college for teacher

training. She now works as a nursery school teacher. Could you

kindly explain how this is shown through the D-1 and D-10?

Mercury and Venus together in 5th is auspicious, however deb. Jupiter

and the Sun will affect that. 5H is lorded by retrograde Saturn who

is in dharm. This house is very crowded and I'm confused about what

the combined effects are. I would appreciate it if you could help.

7th from UL has Mars and Rahu (vijaya yoga), both malefics. This

does not bode well for marriage. Also compounded by the debilitation

of 7th lord Jupiter. UL lord is Lagna lord Mercury. However,

marriage did take place, even though it ended. Could you say what

played a role in making the marriage happen?

Marriage took place in Ju-Su (why during Sun AD?) and separation

occurred in Ju-Ra. Official divorce was completed just after Ju MD

ended.

The native had known the spouse for many years before marriage… In

fact the two families were very close. How is this indicated on the

chart?

Are there any signs that the native will adopt children later on?

How can this be determined?

Shubhargala from 4th house to lagna is destroyed by the presence of

mars and rahu (esp. since rahu is inimical to both Jupiter and the

Sun, the karakas for Lagna). This would indicate loss of home and

dangerous surroundings. I suppose this was true during Ju-Ra dasa –

as a result of marriage, but will the same be valid for future dasas

of Mars, rahu or mercury?

I look forward to learning from your reply.

Thank you very much for your enormous contribution to the list. I

imagine it takes up a fair bit of your time.

Best wishes,

Samir
