I have a small question regarding Tithi Pravesh and a HUGE one regarding the

position of the moon on my chart, my ascendant in my rasi chart and navamsa.

Small question has to do with the fact that I was born in Africa, but moved to

Europe when I was 2 years old. When calculating my TP chart, should I use my

birth geographic and time coordinates or the ones where I was born? If I use

Africa ones, I am Scorpio ascendant, but if I use Europe, I am Taurus

ascendant...

Big question is I was born 09 July 1969 in Luanda, Angola at 18:30. Should I be

Capricorn or Sagittarius Ascendant? And, where is my moon? Aries or Taurus?

I would be prepared to answer any questions you may have to ask me in order to

find out what I really am... Having come from a Western Astrology background,

where I was deeply convinced and related so much to Cancer, and had so many

planets in water signs, suddenly I am an earth sign and a Gemini! Being a

Gemini suits me indeed though, but Sagittarius Rising instead of Capricorn I do

not think so...

And this makes me think of a 3rd question, that's got to do with the fact that

Jagannatha Hora Software apparently has 2 ascendants for me... Under Basics

tab, on the chart itself at the left, it says Capricorn rising BUT then on the

HOUSES tab says that my 1st hosue begins in Sagittarius!!! And also that my

natal sun is not on my 6th but 7th house. Mercury and the Sun are both on 6th

house, but Mercury is in the 6th house, while the Sun is in the 7th, obviously

aspecting the ascendant

I know this mailing list is closely related to the author of this software, so I

am asking please could you help me? Astrology is very important for me, I am

always thinking of Astrology, especially when I go to bed to sleep. All my life

I have wondered why some things coicidentally happened and looked for a reason.

I think I have found the reason... or not? This rooting for a reason might be

Sagittarius, but then again Jupiter still aspects my 1st house even if I am a

Capri. Physically I definatelly am a Capricorn, but then again my chart ruler

Saturn is on my 4th house in Aries, thus in fall... So should my Capricorn

ascendant be strong or should the aspect by jupiter be stronger because Jupiter

is on 9th house?

Hi Rui,

 

With the given birth data I get Capricorn Ascendant and the ascending

degree is at 1:17.

 

Moon for you falls in 5th house in Taurus and Sun is in 6th house in

Gemini.

Where you were born is where the chart

will revolve around. Moving doesn’t change the fact that you were born in

Africa. Otherwise you may find a basis to

change your birth chart depending on where you are living… this is not

acceptable – but when judging the dasas you may adjust the time when the

dasas will give effects where, because of the timezone difference… but

this I am also having 2nd thoughts on.

 

With the time you have given, Jhora gives

you Capricorn Lagna. Now as for the house beginning in Sagittarius – this

is based on the Bhava-chalit chakra, which draws borders 15 degres before and ahead

of the ascendant degree – this doesn’t change the ascendant from

capricorn to sagittarius, but just tells when you as a capricornian begin to

feel the effects of planets in transit, or generally how the mental perception

is of universe. Your Lagna/rising/ascendant is capricorn.

Jagannath Horä uses a very fine and

precise ephemeris, so I trust it very much. According to it – your Moon

is in Taurus, using Lahiri Ayanamsa.
