I had few further doubts, a) Sanjayji in the one of the first postings in the group has said that, association of AK with 11th house is a good combination for excellence in jyotish. 11th house being 4th from the 8th (occult), it is understandable. But in the same post, he also mentioned that malefics in 4th such as Saturn (remover of others sorrow) or Rahu (Remover of evils). This part I failed to understand. How so ? [Visti] Being an astrologer is not only about predicting but also about taking away other peoples sorrow or evil. This happens in the case of Saturn or Rähu as AK's. When asking the above question, I understand that there is more to being a good jyotisha than the above mentioned combinations. Jyotisha is given by planets who have the ability to see the future (Panapara houses 2,5,8,11) & so on..... I found the association of 11th with AK in the following astrologer's charts... Dewavrat Bhalchandra Buit, P.V.R.Narasimha Rao, Partha Sarathy, Robert Koch. [Visti] Not in mine? Dispositor of AK is in 11th in my case. You can see the type of Parampara I learn from, by seeing the 11th house - strict Saturn and traditional is there. b) BK in a chart represents the brother/guru. If in a chart Sa is the BK will this indicate that the Sa qualities such has hard working & disciplined will dominate in a guru ? [Visti] Well - Vivekananda has BK- Moon joined Saturn, and his Guru was quite compassionate - but he was also a worshipper of Kali, in my experience the BK shows the bhakti of the Guru. Also keep in mind that this is Diksha Guru. c) How does one time the event of getting a guru ? Rasi drishti of Ju on A9 ? [Visti] You get a Guru when the Guru has whispered the mantra in your ears. The Drig Dasa associated with A5, 5th house/lord, etc, can bring the mantra and hence the guru. The BEST time to get the mantra is when Jupiter has Räçi dristi on the A5 in transit. Similarly the best time to marry is when Jupiter has rasi dristi on the 2nd from UL. d) Nov - 17 - 1978 17:51 PM Bangalore Can I become a good jyotisha in my lifetime ? AK's role I can understand where it is given as per classics that, Saturn as AK indicates that the native should not give sorrow to others and will have to share the sorrow of many others. Rahu as AK indicates that the native maybe cheated often and will still have to be free from guile and clean hearted. But Sanjayji in his posting talked abt the malefics association with 4th house, hence I was unclear on that part.... Yes Ra AK in 9th house, with Moon in 11th. I missed it. Ra in Darapada so more interaction with research oriented people ? You were under Ta Drigdasa MD from 1991-98, which is where A5 & A3 are present in your chart, so possibly when Ju was in Cp (1997) you got your guru ? Aquarius has rasi drishti on Libra where Ju 5th lord is present, so the next possibility is 2001, as per the dasa too it will be Aq-Ta..(May-July 2001 ?). Is this correct ? As we can see with Ta & Aq itself there were possibilities, so whichever has more factors in favour would become the period ? The Antara Dasa was Gemini, whose lord is joined Jupiter, and later when I received the Guru mantra it was Pisces Antara which is the 5th house itself – again a connection to dual signs. Btw. My Ishta Devata is Mercury, which one should pay careful attention to in the chart. Also keep in mind that this only works here, as I joined a parampara of jyotish. Other places they may not receive mantras upon beginning the learning, and the knowledge may not be of a spiritual content. 3rd time was at the end of Aquarius Dasa in Sagittarius Antara – again dual signs! Late 2006-07, will have Ju in transit in Scorpio having rasi drishti on A5 in Cp. Moreover Scorpio contains Ma, my Ista-Devatha. Aq-Vi from 17-11-2006 to 16-05-2007. Vi contains Ra & also has rasi drishti on 11th house. So possibly the time ? Narayana dasa of D-20 (am not sure abt the accuracy though), indicates Le MD which in addition to housing Ra also has A5 in it. Research oriented: ------------------ " One that follows the path of the Maharishi's (Jupiter) and is exceedingly intelligent, and the other that follows the ORIGINAL RESEARCH power of Rahu." The above is from Sanjayji's earlier posting in the group. Hence I said Ra association with 11th house by rasi drishti, possibly hinted @ research oriented astrologer.... My jyotish studies have mostly been in surges, great couple of months followed by a few dull months or so..... Interesting as the other Kundalini thread goes, you indicated Mo's rashi drishti on 8th house can cause a person to meditate on Kundalini shakti. Mo is mind focussed on occult & kundalini ruled by 8th house. Rasi Drishti as it needs to be permanent & not temporal as in the case of Graha drishti. You also said "Ketu alone causes unexpected kundalini-rising as it is headless and can give "mistakes"". What if the nodes (Ra & Ke) as well as Mo aspect 8th with rasi drishti ? Ke is unexpect kundalini rising, Mo is mind is involved in it, what role will Ra play ? In my chart Mo along with Ra & Ke aspect the 8th house with Rasi drishti. Mo in Ge, Ra in Vi & Ke in Pi. Ke presence in 11th, on & off jyotish study... Is there something I can do to keep my mind firm on it ?
