Guest guest
||| Hare Rama Krishna ||| Dear V. Sreelatha Ji, Good question. I too had this doubt till the Gurus clarified it for me. Planets having graha drishti indicate a desire. Such planets aspecting the 12th from the Karakamsa will have a desire to lead you to the House of the Ishta. Planets having rashi drishti indicate permanence, or that what is. Such planets aspecting the 12th from the Karakamsa will lead you to the House of the Ishta. However, when unoccupied, the Ishta remains the ruler of the 12th from the Karakamsa. This has been my understanding. Hope this helps. Best wishes and warm regards, Nitin. || Namah Shivaaya || Dear Nitin Ji, Namaste. Regarding the first point in your email, you told Ajay to take the ruler of the house since there is no planet in the 12th from Karakamsa. I've read other theories here, I hope you can clarify. One was that if there are no planets, to first consider any Rasi aspects on the 12th, and take the strongest planet in the Rasi with the strongest aspect as the Istha. If there are no planets in the Rasis that aspect, then take the ruler of the 12th house itself as the Istha. The other theory I read was very similar except that planetary aspects were considered, not Rasi aspects. The other theory was, as you say, to consider the ruler without considering the aspects, which has been my way so far. I look forward to your help on this matter, please do share your expertise with us. SIncerely, V. Sreelatha
