Dear Sourav,

Each D-chart

is different and has a different focus, it would take a long time to explain

each of them, and I would rather take them up as the queries come.

The Vimshamsa

specifically focuses on the 8th house – namely the occult. If

you do a simple math; 20-12 = 8, and hence this division maps into the 8th

house, hence its relevance to spirituality. Actually Päräçara states that it

shows ones; Upa-asana. I’m sure you know the meaning of this.

The 9th

house in any divisional chart shows the Guru. However in D-20 it specifically

shows the Diksha Guru, because (s)he is the guru in your spiritual life. In

say; d-24 it shows the Guru in school, whilst in D-9 the 9th house

shows how you treat your Guru’s in general, as that will show your own

dharma related to Guru’s.

I’ve

explained the most relevant houses to Rafal, some more are; the 4th house

which shows the Kula (family) Devata (deity).

The 2nd

house which shows the Grama/Sthana (place/town) Devata (in this day, this is

hard to apply).

The 8th house

shows Sanyas as well, as one performs ones Shraddha before becoming a Sanyasi –

hence when looking at charts of Sanyasi’s, look carefully at this Bhäva,

and the planets therein.

The placement

of Sun and Jupiter in this divisional chart are important to see whether the

person is spiritually interested or not. Sun is specifically used to see

whether one embraces or rejects ones born-faith. Jupiter shows the faith

brought by the guru, which sometimes is foreign. These planets in the 12th

house, tend to show a disinterest in spirituality, but if strong in the 10th

can indicate dabbling with meditation.

Off course

the most important Bhäva in this divisional chart is the Lagna… You! Your

attitude towards spirituality can be seen from this Bhäva – I have

Aquarius Lagna so I tend to philosophize a lot when it comes to spirituality –

but that is my approach. Capricorn Lagna would make a person very skeptic about

religion and spirituality, and such people do not tend to believe in God unless

they see hard evidence. The 12th from Capricorn is the natural 9th

house – Sagittarius, so you can well imagine their approach towards

spirituality. If you can convince a Capricorn Lagna that God exists, they can

be the most faithful.

This also

applies to some extent in the Räçi – if you see Krishnamurty – a Capricorn

Lagna and always rejecting the thought of him being a Guru and always making

you question what you “think” you know about God – Still he

was very spiritual due to his learning and experiences at the Theosophical

society. Here since Capricorn was his natal lagna, that was his overall

approach towards life.

Heres the

chart btw:

Visti about Vishamsa and other D Charts

Hello Visti,

first of all thanks for sharing your insight about my

chart. Can you tell me how to read Vimshamsa ?

What houses represent

what? And in general how to treat any D chart for

that matter. For

Example, what does lagna of a Vimshamsa mean and

how is 9-th house

of Vimshamsa connected to 9-th house of Rasi

chart?

Do you have a handy reference?

Thanks in anticipation,

- Sourav
