Guest guest
Respected Rampriyaji, Thankyou for your response. Yes, I do need to relax. I was quite taken aback to begin with and confused about the terms used. You see I am a beginner in astrology. For instance, what did you mean by JHL? Does it have anything to do with Jaimini astrology? And then you or Jagannathanji mentioned something about Maya. It set me wondering about perceptions derived from horoscopes based on thought process which may have not anything to do with actual events in life. Maybe sometime you could explain the concept of Arudha lagna. Then today I heard a totally new term called anyasis. I am eager to know about all this but I don't know where to begin in a systematic manner. My interest in astrology is mainly motivated by the urge to understand self. And to take whatever comes in life with equanimity. I am a stong believer in free will and concious living. That is why the talk of mutation of planets - though frankly speaking that is a crazy idea which may not have any basis in astrology. I "feel" from past experience that Saturn has a strong influence in my chart. And I would like to believe that it is a positive influence. (Anything which makes one turn inwards is positive, isn't it, at least in terms of one's growth / evolution)? But I have 3 retro planets (not counting the outer planets) which makes me wonder about the curses from past life. Could you refer me to some material on this? There was a discussion sometime back on retro planets in which Nisha Mallik had posed some very good questions. I havn't seen a reply to those questions so far. Anyway, I hope to meet you again and again on the forum to clarify my doubts. Thankyou once again for your response. After 4-odd years of life, Sa will behave as if it were direct in the chart and not retro. Misunderstandings can occur both in conveyancing and comprehending, isn't it? I left my comment at that because I thought you would figure it thereon. > > Now to your queries themselves: > > > 1. While an exalted 9th lord is generally desirable, it's a mixed blessing for a fixed-sign lagna, 9th lord being a badhakesha. A strong 9th lord might possibly mean an obstruction because of righteousness! Also, there are those here who sell that a retro exalted planet is virtually a deb one; depends whether you want to buy that. I don't. > > > 2. No, he can't be deemed a malefic as such but remains a badhaka nonetheless. > > > 4. What will be the effect over time of the 3rd drishti of Saturn on 8th House (saggitarius) containing Mars (retro) and Rahu? Ma in 3rd from Sa is good anyways since it'd ultimately make them neutral to each other. > > > 5. What is the influence of these placements on spiritual growth? > > No idea. > > > 6.
