to publish in the mainstream magazine I had planned on, since I am a

supporter of one candidate, but not the candidate the charts are

pointing out. It may be of interest for those getting interested in

Part I

Fast survey of the Natal chart of John Kerry, using Jyotish, the

sublime science of Vedic Astrology

 

 

Many astrologers are using a birth time for John Kerry of

8:03 am, supposedly mentioned in 1994 by a sister-in-law from his

previous marriage. I prefer to use the time---between 12 midnight

and 1 am---given me personally by John Kerry himself, when I asked

him during a campaign stop in July 2004. Any time he was born

during this hour results in a Leo ascendant (in the sidereal chart),

much better for Kerry's mane of hair and rangy body than the Scorpio

Ascendant resulting from the 8:03 time. After working out his life

events I am using a birth time of 0:12:37 on Dec. 11, 1943, in

Aurora, Colorado, which was under War Time, so 6 West.

In this analysis of Election 2004 the natal charts of both John

Kerry and George W. Bush are analyzed briefly, going only to the

charts' implications for holding power in the next four years. A

new factor for predicting events is brought in as well: the

Sarvatobhadra Chakra, an ancient diagram of planet relations with

respect to the nakshatras, the lunar mansions measuring about 13.3

degrees each, which is the distance traveled by the Moon every 24

hours. This Chakra is a cosmic chess game, in which each planet has

a gaze in a diagonal forward or diagonal backward or straight across

direction, and the effect of those gazes on other planets or on

certain real estate parcels in the sky plays out in the terrestrial

phenomena we experience.

 

In the natal horoscope, John Kerry has Sun, symbol of

executive power, playing all the important roles: lord of the

Ascendant, lord of the rising nakshatra (lunar mansion), and Atma

Karaka (Indicator of Self and Soul), situated at the Place of Self-

Image. Of course! Everyone knows the Sun in astrology rules the

heart. Also Purple Hearts. The Sun must be outstanding in the

chart of someone with three of those.

The most visually striking form, or yoga, of bodies in the sky

is a Full Moon. The Sun is at the bottom and the brilliant Moon is

at the top of the page, right beside Mars at the Midheaven.

This ,Chandra Mangala (Moon-Mars) yoga, gives lucky unions with

women, and Kerry's fortune arrived through marriage to two very

wealthy women. The exalted Moon along the axis from the Place of

Self-Image, lined up in a can't-miss-it cross with Jupiter in the

Ascendant (there's the luck again) and the midnight Sun beneath,

makes for world-wide fame. Fame for what? it's ambiguous: the

Full Moon embodies the conflict of Kerry's generation: an anti-war

war hero. Mars is the planet guarding Kerry's health and pushing

the direction of his life. Mars gives him the genuine courage we

know him to have; Mars also, retrograde, makes him find the unusual

tactic, "turn the boat head on," under heavy enemy fire. Mars makes

it natural for Kerry to perceive foreign policy as a balancing act,

and to assert the need for military action at the right time, in the

right place. Mars is the determined factor, opposing the Sun,

scrutinizing the role of governments, slogging through the dreary

days when he is down in the polls.

The timing of events varies for every horoscope, but when

accurately calculated, it reveals the meaning of events. Sen.

Kerry's chart qualifies for the 36-Period Cycle, governed by Mercury

in the fifth house (politics). He was running the start of the

current 36-year cycle, beginning with Sun period, when he began a

career as a prosecutor in the D.A.'s office. Under Sun, he had to

stand out as a comer, and he blazed quickly up the ranks and into

the Senate. His first burst of fame in the early 70's, as the

spokesman for Vietnam War veterans, who made President Nixon take

notice in alarm, had come in Rahu dasa. Rahu, the North Node of the

Moon, is the head of the mythic dragon representing the human

craving for experience. Rahu is the planet that takes him to

adventures in distant realms, and Rahu again, in its second octave,

is the cycle that he hopes will see him into the Presidency.

Kerry will be running the major/minor cycles of

Rahu/Rahu/Jupiter on Election Day. Rahu although feared as the

worst of the malefics when planet biographies are listed, has it

over all the other grahas, or graspers of human fate, when it comes

to larger-than-life events like the election of the Leader of the

Free World. The man who can carry off well Rahu's energy can hold

the reins of power. In fact, Rahu is the chart's most energized

planet. Rahu in Kerry's 12th house (foreign countries) nudged him in

the Senate into the Foreign Relations Committee. With Rahu's help,

Kerry started the investigations into the Iran-Contra involvement of

the Reagan administration and uncovered the CIA's dealings with

Panamanian strongman Manuel Noriega. Kerry's Rahu combines with his

Moon to create the rare formation called Shakti Yoga, endowing the

native with the personal force to create or destroy tremendous

evil. Since Mars gets brought to heel, the effect is to destroy

evil, putting Kerry in a rare class of reformers, who can make a

difference.

 

Sarvatobhadra Chakra

In the Sarvatobhadra Chakra, the diagram of all good things,

which registers the imperious gazes of the grahas across the crowded

skies, John Kerry has the following noteworthy indicators:

 

Moon and Mars in Rohini nakshatra have forward and backward

glances setting up corners of a significant rectangle: Mars looks

back at Aswini, the swift--that's its main characteristic--

nakshatra. (In India, transport companies are called "Aswini" to

show they get there fastest.) Conjoined to Mars, Moon looks forward

to Venus in Swati nakshatra, the place of the wind gods. Venus is

where it could look forward toward the Sun. (Unfortunately, Venus

doesn't look that way, but looks straight across, diverting energy

elsewhere.) Sun does stare back at Aswini, the place of swiftness.

Aswini is the rallying point for the most important factors in

Kerry's chakra. Aswini is the "Jati" nakshatra, the one standing

for the community and contributions to it. Summing up, the chakra

at Kerry's birth says he will energize his faculties to perform

major community service in a swift place, and "all in the same

boat." Women, however, fail to give Kerry the support it would take

to put him on top.

 

There are no planets in the corners of the diagram, where there

are openings to larger dimensions engendering screams of fear,

agitation, loss, and excitement. In Sarvatobhadra Chakra, there are

four corners with small regions on either side of them which are

like quicksand pits or Get Out of Jail Free cards. When a planet

falls in one of those spots, it gains extra-dimensional powers. The

ancient texts describing this chakra relate these powers in fearsome

terminology, but modern study is suggesting that the powers can be

fearsome or delightful, depending on the nature of the planets

involved and their condition in the natal chart. Kerry's is devoid

of these specially vibrating planets; this is the chart of an

ordinary citizen, in contrast to President Bush's extra-dimensional

capacity (see Part II below). On the other hand, Kerry's Shakti

Yoga in the natal chart is not equalled by Bush's lower power

quotient. Bush differs from Kerry in a lack of recognition of the

true nature of evil.

Transit at Election 2004

For Sen. Kerry this day pulls together his natal chakra's

distinguishing formation, the rectangle of Moon, Mars, Venus and

Sun, pointing at Aswini. On Election Day, the node of destiny,

Rahu, sits in Aswini. Rahu is well-disposed to Kerry as it is his

current Dasa Lord, but the first portion of a dasa is rarely strong

enough to bring major change. Sun, the planetary President, is

transiting Kerry's natal Venus, and could but fails to give a

helpful light to Kerry's natal Sun. Ketu, the other magnifying,

fate-carrying node, is transiting beside the Sun, looking back to

Kerry's natal Moon-Mars combination with an energy-dissipating

effect. Saturn is transiting Kerry's natal Rahu and looking across

to its enemy, Sun. Ketu on Moon, Rahu on Sun, and Saturn also

looking at the Sun, all say that Kerry's luck will not be working

this day.

 

 

Part II

Fast survey of the Natal chart of George W. Bush, using Jyotish, the

sublime science of Vedic Astrology

 

George W. Bush has Atma Karaka (Indicator of Self and Soul)

and Pitri Karaka (Indicator of Father and Bosses) in Cancer Lagna

(Ascendant) along with Saturn; he takes power at the behest of

others in power. The chart has Kala Sarpa Yoga, or Yoga of the

Serpent of Time; this is the overweening influence of the karmic

controllers, the Moon's nodes, Rahu and Ketu, fencing off all the

planets in half of the sky. Arudha Lagna, representing George W.

Bush's image in the world, is in the Martian sign Scorpio, with

Ketu, the Dragon's Tail, which represents the army in the planetary

cabinet, and thus George W. Bush imagines himself as the

personification of God's wrath against terrorists. The Arudha

Lagna is in a fixed sign, as are the fate-bearing nodes, making a

chart with a strong pre-set karma, very difficult to alter by any

free choice on the individual's part.

Mars, the ruler of Scorpio, occupies the house of sustenance,

taking a hard bite out of the economy to finance war.

Ascendant Lord Moon is in the third house (resort to force)

along with Jupiter in its marana sthana, or killing field for that

particular graha, or grasper (as planets are called when

recognizing their power in human affairs): many must die in order

for this Jupiter's thirst for justice to be slaked. Sun is also in

its killing field, the 12th house, where the need for the leader to

exhaust all means before resorting to force falls into abeyance.

 

Sarvatobhadra Chakra

 

In Sarvatobhadra Chakra, the diagram of all good things, which

shows how planets send penetrating glances down the long corridors

of power in the complexes of constellations arranged beyond Earth's

zodiacal belt, George W. Bush has the following noteworthy

indicators:

 

Firstly, his Atma Karaka, the most important planet of the

chart, standing for the soul's purpose in this life, is a

destructive Venus, the mentor of demons, because he was the teacher

for those not seeing the oneness of things. In this symbolic

diagram of George Bush's essence, Venus has extra powers that elicit

deeper than normal reactions in whomever he encounters, which is the

whole world. Venus sits in a corner of the Sarvatobhadra Chakra

where energy opens to the larger dimensions and a scream of fear,

the sound of AAAAAA! is engendered by the special power of the

person. As this primal scream goes forth, it runs through a

meridian going to the center of the chakra, the Poorna Tithi,

representing Full Moon. This Tithi (a Tithi is a measure of the Sun

and Moon relationship) is ruled by Saturn in his role as the Grim

Reaper. When it is activated, simultaneous ripples of energy go out

to the four corners of this square chakra, and the vowels --for the

components of speech and the meanings that go with them are also in

this cosmic game--- of "i," representing universal losses, "ii,"

disease, and "a," excitement or agitation, get triggered. Because

he was born on the day of Saturn, at the center of the diagram, his

actions create widespread destruction. President Bush's Venus rises

up in the southeast corner, which is the region of aggression. But

because this planet with extra dimensions is Venus, President Bush's

actions receive support from many quarters.

 

Saturn, the planet that holds George W. on the dynastic throne,

occupies a nakshatra called Vinasha or crushing, and Saturn has a

direct forward gaze on a stinging Mars; the first resort when in

fear is to lash out and punish. Mars is found in the nakshatra

showing the person's community. Mars, which in the horoscope shows

a harmful effect on finances, represents his contribution to his

constituents.

 

Transit at Election 2004

 

The crystal ball of Sarvatobhadra Chakra performs at the time

of important events. Many astrologers have noted that on November

2, 2004, it is George W. Bush's Saturn return, when Saturn arrives

back at its natal spot, and also Moon transits his natal Sun that

day. What does the chakra tell us about these moves?

 

First we check Rahu, the north lunar node, lord of illusions.

This planet of craving has a key role in all big events when major

fame and power are at stake. On Election Day, Rahu allows the

serpent to catch its own tail, as archetypal psychologists find in

the dreams of patients about to make major leaps. Transiting Rahu

connects to its polar opposite, natal Ketu, completing the circuit,

turning lights on in the house. This happens in Bush's House of

Image, the Arudha Lagna. Now he is a real winner. As mentioned,

the nodes are the defining boundaries of Bush's natal chart, making

the Serpent of Time, allotting a specific role in the unfolding of

larger dramas. With this transit, the snake now bites what it

wants. Natal Ketu is in Jyestha nakshatra, which wants to play the

hero, and insists on supremacy.

 

The Sun penetrates the stronghold of power on Election Day,

while Ketu transits next to it and glances back at the place of

natal conception, meaning a chance to extricate oneself from wrong

karmas is being offered.

 

Saturn which is returning to the natal spot is returning to

the nakshatra called "Destruction," from whence it is casting a

disparaging glance onto the natal Mars, sited in Jati---"Community"--

-nakshatra. Saturn has the weight of apathy and the habit of

suppression behind it, enough to stifle the wrath of the community,

which is aroused by the falsehoods and errors of the last four

years, but hasn't reached the critical mass to act as one. Saturn's

glance is famous for turning the recipient---here, the will to

resist---to ashes.

 

Mars has moved into a new sign, the more negotiable sign of

Libra, and will demand a new approach from the Commander in Chief to

recover from the failed war. It still does not know where it is

going.

 

Venus and Jupiter are in the natal Abhishekha nakshatra, the

place of "Coronation." Venus, President Bush's Atma Karaka, is on

his Ascendant lord, and Jupiter is there too, while Moon looks on,

giving the seal of approval.
