Guest guest
Hi Smitha, - smith_ak1971 Monday, August 30, 2004 10:52 AM [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] correct ascendant My son was born in Dubai on 11th January 1998, at 7.47PM, Dubai time.We gave the horoscope to be written to an astrologer known in our village. Which is? Accordingly, the ascendant has been calculated at 9.17PM, Indian time and the chart has been laid out with respect to this IST. Is this process of converting the Dubai time into Indian time and laying the chart according to the corresponding IST correct? Will it give variations in chart positions or ascendant position? No, not if the bloke has left the coordinates unchanged. According to the astrologer, the chart has Leo ascendant and I can somewhat understand how he has arrived at this conclusion. Oh, you do? I don't. At about 8pm in Dubai on 11th Jan 98, I'd have guessed a Cn lagna even before casting the chart, so I'd love to hear from you on how Le looks plausible. Dxb is only 25n, remember? But whenever I put the birth data into any computer programme on the web, I get the ascendant as Cancer. Er... that seems correct as well :\ Please guide me as to which is correct and why this discrepancy is noticed? Not being privy to what the chap has actually done, I can only speculate. He must've yanked the longitude in the chart to something way beyond 55-18E that it should be. See if he has put in some 70+ figure. If you keep the latitude more or less the same, an eastward shift to the longitude can only increase the lagna's longitude. Guest guest
Hi Ramapriyaji Namaste! I have never cast a horoscope or practically read a panchangam and my knowledge in this is nil. When we went on vacation to Kerala last month, we consulted an astrologer about this confusion on the ascendant (not the person who cast it). He said that at 9.15 PM IST on that day, the Leo ascendant is rising and confidently explained to me that it would in all probability be correct. This person though quite young, is reputed in the town. However he also said that we have to actually check the panchangam of that particular year to see the sunrise on that day, but that logically it would in all probability be Leo. He did not have the particular panchangam with him at the time and we did not have the time left to go again as we were on very short vacation and were returning the day after. Last year I had taken the horoscopes of both my sons to another astrologer to check the ascendants. (I paid him 100 Rs each to check the ascendants) He told me that he checked it and found it to be correct too. However he corrected the ascendant of my older son to Libra (from Scorpio as it had been cast as Scorpio). The details of my older son is birth at 1.14AM on 7.01.1995 in Dubai. I believe this corrected version of Libra ascendant is right - please correct me if am wrong. It was very difficult to question them when I was not sure of what I was saying. Please tell me if there are any highlights in the Cancer ascendant horoscope that as a parent I ought to know. Please tell me in general about it too - whether there is anything in his behaviour that I can check early on. Will he be good at studies and will he get a good education - what job is suited for him? Will he be good at music? (he is learning violin) Your reply is much appreciated. Thanks and pranams May God shower his blessings on you! Guest guest
Hi Ramapriya ji I think these astrologers are not taking the co-ordinates of Dubai at all. They are simply converting it into Indian time and taking Indian co-ordinates. That is why at 9.17 PM at Indian time they get Leo ascendant. That is why I asked whether this process is correct - am I right? Thanks and regards Smitha , "Ramapriya D" <hubli@h...> wrote: > Hi Smitha, > - > smith_ak1971 > > Monday, August 30, 2004 10:52 AM > [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] correct ascendant > > > My son was born in Dubai on 11th January 1998, at 7.47PM, Dubai time. > > We gave the horoscope to be written to an astrologer known in our village. > > Which is? > > Accordingly, the ascendant has been calculated at 9.17PM, Indian time and the chart has been laid out with respect to this IST. > > Is this process of converting the Dubai time into Indian time and laying the chart according to the corresponding IST correct?
