Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Susan, Chart Example: For Cancer Lagna My calculations: Rashi seed is Capricorn in 7th house. Dashas run backwards in order: Cap, Sag, Scorpio, etc. (Capricorn in movable sign, so progression is regular, 1, 2, 3, etc; 9th from Capricorn, Virgo, is even-footed sign, so direction is backwards.) Capricorn's lord, Saturn, is in the 5th house. Dasha lengths should run 2 years, per rashi, for the first cycle. (7th to 5th rashi is 3 signs minus one equals two.) Dasha length should be two years per rashi, totally 24 years for the first cycle, until it ends at Aquarius. Second cycle should then change to 10 years per rashi (12-2=10), starting with Capricorn. These are my calculations. I hope they are right. Please correct me if they are wrong, or if I misunderstood anything. ---------------------------- 7th is stronger than lagna, so seed Dasa is Capricorn. The order of the Dasas will run thus: Cp, Sg, Sc, Li, Vi, Le, Cn, Ge, Ta, Ar, Pi, Aq First cycle: Begin counting backwards with Cp (even-footed) to its lord Saturn, which is in the 5th, hence 3-1= 2 years. Next one is Sg. Begin counting backwards to its lord Jupiter, say Jupiter is in Pisces becomes the following: 10-1 = 9 years. Jupiter is in Pisces, and when Narayan Dasa of Pisces comes, it is 1-1=0 = 12 years. If Jupiter is in Cancer, it becomes 6-1+1= 6 years In the 2nd cycle of Cp it will be 12-2 = 10 years Jupiter eg: In the 2nd cycle of Sg with Ju in Pisces, it will be 12-9=3 years In the 2nd cycle of Sg with Ju in Cancer, it will be 12-6 = 6 years Hope this will suffice. love, Swee swee www.brihaspati.net bluelotusflwr [bluelotusflwr] 13 May 2004 00:15 [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] Re: Software and Narayana Dasha Question re: Parashara's Light 6.0 software and Narayana Dasha. If anyone can help me with the following question regarding Narayana Dasha calculations in Parashara's Light 6.0 software, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance! Does anyone know if the calculations used in Parashara's Light 6.0 to calculate Narayana dasha are accurate? The results I am getting with the software do not match the results I am getting when I calculate it by hand. The dasha length in PL 6.0 changes after the first dasha (rashi)period, not after the first cycle, i.e. 12 rashis. Is the software calculating it wrong, or am I calculating it wrong? Chart Example: For Cancer Lagna My calculations: Rashi seed is Capricorn in 7th house. Dashas run backwards in order: Cap, Sag, Scorpio, etc. (Capricorn in movable sign, so progression is regular, 1, 2, 3, etc; 9th from Capricorn, Virgo, is even-footed sign, so direction is backwards.) These are my calculations. I hope they are right. Please correct me if they are wrong, or if I misunderstood anything. Parashara's Light 6.0 listed the first dasha period as Capricorn, lasting two years. But the second dasha period, Sagittarius, it listed for 10 years. My understanding is that during the first cycle, each rashi's period should run for two years, until it has cycled through all 12 rashis. Then, the second cycle begins, with Capricorn again, and each rashi's dasha period runs for 10 years each. But this is not how the software calculated it. I also noticed that it skipped Aquarius entirely, i.e. it went from Pisces to Capricorn, and omitted Aquarius entirely. Is the software calculating Narayana dasha using a different method? Or is there a glitch, an error, in the software, and is it calculating it wrong? If anyone has experience with Parashara's Light 6.0 and can answer this question for me, I would be very grateful for your help. Also, if there is a problem with PL 6.0's calculation of Narayana dasha, can anyone recommend any other software that calculates it accurately, and that will calculate it for both rashi and varga charts? Thanks so much for your help and advice. Susan [Om Kleem Krishnaaya Jagannathaaya namah] Send a blank mail To : - To : Links
Guest guest
Dear Swee, Thank you, thank you, thank you for clearing up my confusion! I didn't realize that the dasha length for each dasha period was calculated from the distance between EACH rashi and its lord, (i.e. Cap to Saturn, Sag to Jupiter, Scorpio to Mars, etc.), and not just repeating the length from the dasa seed to its lord. This is a very clear explanation. Thank you so much for your help! I will have to check PL 6.0 again and see if it is accurate. Have you used PL 6.0 to calculate Narayana dasha and do you know if it is accurate? Thanks again.
