Dear All,

It is NOT Bandhanaama, it can't be grammatically.

it is as following:

urvaarukamiva [urvaarukam [A particular fruit] + iva [Like] ] This is made

of 'sandhi' of two different words urvaarukam & iva

bandhanaat [From Bandhan ]

& so on, with slight attempt, you may break it in each ingredient word &

meaning is very clear!

regards,

Pankaj

Dear Pankaj, Voya, and Chandrashekar,

Thank you for the information on the Mahamrityunjaya mantra. You

inspired me to look into my Sanskrit Primer and I found the following

(ITRANS format):

k T t p when followed by initial n or m, may, and in practice almost

invariable do, become the corresponding nasals ~N N n m

"A Sanskrit Grammer for Students" by Arthur MacDonell. Chapter II,

section 39.

So ba.NdhanAt mrtyo changes final t to nasal n. Since it is final

nasal n there is no "a" sound and it merges with the following m

sounding like ba.NdhanAn mrtyo.

This means that you are all correct and also agrees with Sri

Karunamayi recording and also explains why the t is sometimes

transcribed as an n.
