Guest guest
Hare Rama Krsna Jyotish is so broad, every planet plays a role. Jupiter must be strong as he is the Dhi, the wisdom, which a good Jyotishi needs. He is also the significator for intuition, how to put it all together, when to use which technique, etc. Surya is also very important. The Temple of Konark in Orissa famous for Jyotish and the Temple of Delphi in Greece are both Sun Temples. The Sun is connected to oracles because it gives the vision, the insight. Often prayers to the Sun are said before looking at a chart to help you see what you need to see. The Sun is the Light of Jyotish. It is the 12 Sun signs that that give us the Jyotirlingas. Ketu is important for the mathematical aspects of Jyotish and to be able to Calculate the various factors in a chart. Mercury is needed to discriminate and to talk about the chart. What's the use of seeing something if you cannot express it to another person properly? Mercury plays a large role in education and teaching Jyotish, as well as Nimitta and Sukana. Moon needs to be strong if we are going to help people heal with the astrological chart. The Moon is associated with the line of Atri from which Ayurveda was originally taught. So a strong Moon makes a good Ayurvedic Jyotishi. Mars is a warring planet that knows when to attack and kill the enemy. A strong Mars is important for Raj Jyotish, political politics. Saturn is connected to the Vastu Purusha, that's why its good to move into a new house on a Saturday. A strong Saturn can make a good Vastu astrologer. Venus, the line of Brighu, is famous for Muhurta. It is said better than Jupiter for Muhurta. Venus is also good for entertainment type astrology. So every planet has a role in making a great astrologer, it is our job to see the Rasi, Pv D-3, and D-9 to see our abilities and follow the area best suited. Namah Sivaya OM [explore_vulcan] Monday, December 01, 2003 5:37 PM [sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] Ketu vs Mercury & astrology Namaste Gurus, I wanted to know which is the planet responsible for astrology or in other words which planets (in good position or exalted) make good astrologers? Is it Ketu or Mercury...Infact Ketu is quite unhappy in Mer owned houses (Gemini & Virgo) and Mercury is in turn quite "confused" in Ketu's regions of exaltation (Scorpio and Pisces). Who's position or influence generates an in sight into astrology? Is it neither of them, both or any other planet too needs to be considered?
