Namaste Karen, and everyone else....

Continuing on this discussion, I was curious if you could provide me (and the

list a refresher) on the Das Mahavidyas, as associated with the planets?

I don't have the VRA text with me handy....

Take care.

Best wishes,

Nitin.

>The Palana devata, as you wrote, is the deity that will provide for your

material needs in this life. Like a mother, as you wrote, She will see to it

that you have food, home, resources etc, Sanjayji taught that this formshould

be a form of Devi, a female deity, represented by the planets in the 6th house

from Amk. If no planets see the lord.

>

>To my knowledge ( and see Sanjay ji's book entitled Vedic Remedies for more

details) the dharma devata is the form of deity that will help you fulfill your

dharma in this life.

>

>As for the Hindu forms of Devi as palana devata, you can take either the das

mahavidya form ( though I recommend you get guidance from a guru for this)

>or you can take the spouse of the Vishnu avatar represent by that planet.

>

>The das mahavidya form for Jupiter is Tara.

>Parasara give the Vishnus avatar for Jupiter is Sri Vamana, but I don't think

he has a wife. Did he?

>I think the Kali yuga form of Vamana devata is Tirupati Balaji, but I don't

know if he has spouce either. Hopefully other can help you with this.

>

>Hope this helps get you started.

> I wish you could explain a bit about this Palana Devata concept which I had

read in the Jaimini sutra. It said that the 6th from Amatya Karaka will show our

palana devata which deity will protect and prosper us in the material world. Is

the deity is always a female deity? I'm asking because I have read that this

deity will always nurture and protect us like a mother.

>

> In my case, I had Guru in the 6th from Amatya Karaka(Sukra). Guru is placed

in Scorpio navamsa. In Rasi Kundali Guru is exalted and and in Vimsamsa Guru is

debiliated and in conjuction with exalted Mangal in the 8th house. How to

determine the deity for Guru. And also please explain to me what is the

difference between this Palana Devata and Dharma Devata which is 9th from Atma

Karaka.
