Guest guest
Thank You Raghunadha, This is an interesting map. I had trouble identifying some of the sites and associating them with the mantras. Here is the result of my research: Aries: Ramesvara (Rameshwaram) in Setubandhana (Tamilnadu). Taurus: Somanatha (Somanath) in Prabhas Patan in Saurashtra (Gujarat). Gemini: Nagesa (Dwarka) in Darukavana (Gujarat). Cancer: Omkaresvara (Omkareshwar) in Amalesvara on the banks of Narmada (Madhya Pradesh). Leo: Ghusrunesa in Sivalaya (Maharashtra). Virgo: Mallikarjuna in Sree Sailam near Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh). Libra: Mahakala (Ujjain) in Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh). Scorpio: Vaidyanatha in Parali (Maharashtra). Sagittarius: Visvesa in Varanasi or Banares (Uttar Pradesh). Capricorn: Bhimasankara in Dakini (Maharashtra). Aquarius: Kedarnath in Himalayas (Uttar Pradesh). Pisces: Triyambaka on the banks of Godavari in Nasik (Maharashtra). A friend has told me that there is some controversy over which are the original jyotirlinga sites, so these names may not match. The sloka I have found referring to them is: Saurashtre Somanaatham Cha Sree Saile Mallikarjunam Ujjayinyaam Mahaakaalam Omkaare Mamaleswaram Himalaye to Kedaram Daakinyaam Bhimashankaram Vaaranaasyaam cha Viswesam Trayambakam Gowtameethate Paralyaam Vaidyanaatham cha Naagesam Daarukaavane Setubandhe Ramesham Grushnesam cha Shivaalaye || I am not sure if there is a spelling error for the jyotir linga corresponding to Leo as Ghusrunesa (also Grishneshwar) does not seem to match the mantra given in Vedic Remedies in Astrology. There it is given as Dhusaneswar. Should the Dh be Gh? Perhaps the name does not match the linga name and that is ok?
