Thank you sir for explaining things.

* can you elaborate regarding 'Vishnu gotra'. i somewhare read thatit is perhaps

'kashyap ' gotra which is taken in such matters.

*regarding second query -- i wanted to know about last rite for thoese females

-- 1. who have nobody to perform, can they do themselve before death; 2-- i was

not mentioning those who have embaressed other religion but married outside

their religion as per countrie's law. also for some practical purposes few

convert on paper but remain with religion of birth at heart and practice.

i hope, you ond other learned members will throw more light on this.

with best regards,

triptika

nor 'beliefs' if we understand the way how christians undestand these

concepts.Conversion from one 'religion' to another, meant a rejection of one

set of beliefs and practices(recall secular gospel: actions are embodiments of

ones beliefs) and embracing another on grounds of TRUTH and FALSITY. That is,

the believers not only believed in the *truth* of their beliefs, but it was

also vital and necessary that beliefs were so believed.Christianity never

understood Roman pagan traditions and Indic traditions after 1000 years of

hiatus. Just lumped these into 'paganism', 'hinduism', 'buddhism', 'jainism' as

false set of beliefs.beliefs and faiths are ingradients of these *ism-s, thanks

to Indian education, but not for the practioners in our saampradaaya-s.[Om
