Guest guest
Dear Sanjay, Your reaction to Mofie's question is interesting.:-) Until a couple of years ago, I would have thought the same as you have, but there is much more to it if one gives the time. In the South (Tamil Nadu) there are two types of Panchangams: one is the Ganitha Panchangam and the other is the Vakya Panchangam. The Ganitha Panchangam is that which is calculated and which is more familiar to many of us because it is on the money so to speak when one calculates manually or by any program. On the other hand the Vakya Panchangam is that which is prepared according to rules given by the ancient seers/Rishis. It is very well understood that mathematically/astronomically speaking the Ganitha Panchangam is accurate, but where the users of the Ganitha Panchangam falter is where the users of the Vakya Panchangam reign. With my little knowledge of jyotisham I have had to accept that because of my interaction with astrologers recently where they have shown the differences. And Mofie is right in that in Malaysia they celebrated the Sani Paerchi or Sani's Transition into Gemini on May 23. The two Panchangams can differ a bit for the slow moving grahas whereas for the faster moving grahas they don't differ much. In the case of Jupiter, according to Vakya panchangam the transition has already taken place on the 23rd whereas with the ganitha panchangam there is probably another couple of days left. I can speak on Jupiter's transition, because i saw so many things happening for me on the 23rd that I couldn't believe. Sanjay, this might be an interesting area of research and point of discussion for sometime in the future. with regards Venkatachalam Sanjay Rath wrote: > > > > Jaya Guru > Dear Mofie, > Does it not show how backward and in the dark ages those astrologers > are? What are the things which you observed happening on 23rd and how did you correlate these things with Ju's transit into Le? Kindly share your observations. regards Hari
