Dear Visti,

Certainly correctly described.

[However, I would love to put my hands on some statistics (which I'm sure do not

exist...) showing a blending of Leo lagnas with Sun and Rahu in MSK (9th) / Mars

YK/badhaka and to see how this influence the 10th house and their

careers/position in society (I take this up in general terms without involving

10th lord/D10 etc.)].

Greetings

/Jay

|Vyam Vyasadevaaya Namah|Dear Jay and Anna,

One must bear in mind the nature of the Yoga's of the Badhak/Badhakesh. In Jay's

case, Rahu is very badly placed in the badhak sthana, indicating wrath of

serpents. However the suns junction with the same indicates that these serpents

are intent on long term good. Hence whatever results that come, they will be

understood as a learning experience, making the evil less prominent in

hindsight.

Badhakesh in the 12th house is also considered very auspicious, unless planets

join it, causing the lordship of the planets to suffer. Also the co-lordship of

the badhakesh will undergo some change/suffering. Going abroad and recieving

some fruits is indicated.

So as you must have concluded - it depends. You need to apply the dictums carefully.

Basically when the Badhak/Badhakesh is associated with malefics, we can predict

problems, whilst benefics cause less trouble. - If Raja Yoga is indicated, then

there will be some 'extra-considerations' for the person who achieves it. I.e.

the king (Leo) gets great raja yoga from wars (mars is Yoga karaka) however

with every conquest, there always follows some unwanted duties, like upholding

order in the conquered place, and forming taxes, etc. Here the minor badhak

indications are indicated.

Dear Jay,

Thanks for sharing: in your usual, no-nonsense, right-to the point way. Your

experience makes this issue closer to /my/ understanding. It seems it is the

right way to explore what is and what's not happening in reality.

You've given an idea about effects of RY + Badkash MD. If understand right, you

just felt the RY effects were weaker.

That maybe the role, and benefit of YK badhakesh ?-

like the old rule says, sometimes absence of evil is good enough. My Venus

Badhakesh Period /lord of 11th Cancer Lagna/ was generally very productive and

successful in many ways: however, I experienced full-blown badhak- misery as

well: my elder brother almost died, I lost my best friend..Like in astro-book,

both 11th house matter.

My confusion is regarding YK as Badhakesh, as is yours too. Your experience

seems to suggest just some loss of benefits expected from YK. like some +YK

energy served to annihilate the evil of Badhak..And I also think that Sc Lagna

is 'penalized' the most, and therefore less lucky than other signs, since Moon

is badhakesh: it's Mother, mind...so important issues.. I hope we'll hear more

of real life experiences on this still open issue..and maybe we'll be able to

extract the rule, which now seems missing.

Thanks a lot, Jay,

Have a great weekend,

Anna

[sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] Re: Achyuta Gurukul] Q -> Anna

Dear Anna,

Indeed a confusing issue and I feel that I am without a satisfying answer for it

nor do I believe that there is sufficient statistical material to establish

"facts" in regard to Badhaka as YK.

Although the basic role is clear in BHPS (#50 18-25) this is in my opinion an

open area for serious research.

My own experience: I have Leo lagna with Rahu and Sun in the 9th (marana karaka

shtana) and Mars the Badhaka & YK is in the 12th with Saturn lord of 6th/7th (a

VRY). During the Vimshottari period of Mars (ages 9 to 16) I had not such a bad

time at all (however NOT as positive as a YK period is suppose to be) while

Rahu period was a very 'event rich' and stormy in every sense - one with too

many dramatic events and major changes (like marriage, emigration, children,

divorce and much more).

Looking back at it today, the sum total was an enormous life experience which

have not damaged me at all in the long run - on the contrary.

There are many more issues to judging such a period (and many more "if's" other

than just the basics), which you must consider, like the karaka it is in the

chart, the nakshatra lord, various aspects, transits etc.

However, the potential of going through some challenges and struggle is

definitely there during the period of the Badhaka.

For me it is alway essential to see the entire chart instead of a part

description of "who is where..."

Also, it is necessary to compare dasa periods between at least a couple of

systems in order to see if the period in question is showing the same expected

results.

Kind regards

/Jay Weiss

[sJC: Achyuta Gurukul] Re: Achyuta Gurukul] Re: Achyuta Gurukul] Achyuta Gurukul] Q

Thanks Jay,

That issue confuses me time and over again.

I have one chart Ta Lagna, with exalted Sat /and Mars is there too/ in 6th

House.Planet exalted but badhak in 'enemy's house. What would RYK bring to

native fron 6th,

and will 'enemies' be more affected because of this exaltation and and badhak

qualities. Rahu itself is nineth H, which is marana karaka shtana- now in Rahu

period-

what would you expect from this under circumstances?

If/when you get a chance I'd appreciate your comment.

One more, OK? Badhakesh Venus for Cn Lagna, placed in tenth house- both Venus

signification and 10th house affairs would suffer, is that correct?

I am not getting this..

Particularly with Scorpio and Leo Lagna- Moon is so important and it's badhaka

no matter what, or Mars YK and badhaka. Some experiences would be good to hear

from members

Thanks,

Anna
