Om Sri Gurave namah

Dear Visti,

Sorry for the delay in replying to you, but I suppose you should choose the

lunar month, as per tradition. I believe in many parts of India, the lunar

calendar is still followed. I also checked with Sanjayji, and he also confirmed

that Varahamihira too followed the lunar calendar.

Best regards,

Sarbani

Dear Sarvani, Namaste.

As per Padma Purana the Bhima Ekadashi starts on Jyestha Sukla Paksha. As per

modern panchang, this is tomorrow.

However in those times the Maasa was started from the Full Moon, hence Jyestha

Sukla Paksha is not tomorrow, but exatly 1 month later. Krishna Paksha stays

the same.

Does this mean tomorrow isn't Bhima ekadashi and i can atleast have a whole

glass of water? This is quite important as this is a very difficult fast.

Best wishesVisti---Sri Jagannath Center: http://.orgBhagavad Purana:
